For this incredibly humble price, the Climax Gems Rod brings a lot to the table; a quiet yet powerful vibe at such a low price is hard to find! If you're looking for extreme texture and large sizes, look elsewhere, but if you're looking for an easy, average toy experience with no complications, this is a good choice.
The Climax Gems Rod is quite the quiet little hummer! Great for those of us in close quarters with roommates or -gasp!- parents, because it is super quiet, especially for a toy that packs a real punch, vibrationally-speaking.
The Climax Gems Rod is probably best used for vaginal stimulation; it feels great inserted or for use on the clitoris. In the same vein (see what I did there?) you can also use it for stimulating your breasts/nipples and other areas
Personally, I find The Climax Gems Rod best for solo play. It's excellent for your morning shower quickie! The vibrator is quiet enough on its own; when in the shower with the sound of water splashing, there is no way that even the nosiest and most obtrusive of roommates could hear it. Unless they're creeping inside the shower with you, then you've got bigger problems on your hands than being overheard!
I am very sensitive to smells; most people would have no issues with The Climax Gems Rod, but I didn't particularly enjoy the smell. That's just me though, I dislike the smell of most materials.
Use a water-based lubricant and feel the jelly Rod glide! It has enough texture to be noticeable without being extreme. Its shape makes this toy great for thrusting; it's smooth enough not to snag and the material has a lot of give to it.
Since it is made out of a jelly material, you may not want to use The Climax Gems Rod anally. If you do, use a condom to ensure cleanliness, as you can't sterilize it. Condoms should also be used if sharing.
The Climax Gems Rod is very smooth, even beginners would be unlikely to find the texture extreme. There is some texture in the veins, which is noticeable but not intimidating at all, nor is the size. Besides the colouring, it is pretty realistic in size and shape. I don't find it feels exactly like a penis, but it's close enough.
I feel that this vibrator is easy on the novice with its realistic size and with the flexibility it offers. I wish the head and veins had been a bit more pronounced, but I didn't really feel that the Rod was really lacking.
The vibrations in the Climax Gems Rod are located mainly close to the head. The vibrations are nice and strong without the loud buzzing sound that generally accompanies strong vibrators. The vibrations are controlled via a dial on the base, which is simple enough to use, and the dial is ridged so that you can manipulate it even in the shower.
It is waterproof in the shower, but I have never fully submerged it in water. In the shower works just fine though; I haven't had any problems and it's easy to close tightly to keep the water out.
The Climax Gem Rod is made of a jelly material, which makes it impossible to sterilize. For this reason, you do not want to share it or use it anally without a condom. To clean it, you can easily wash it by hand with warm water and antibacterial soap. You don't want to use any harsh chemicals on it, and you definitely do not want to put it in the dishwasher!
You'll want to give it a wash before use, because lint and pet hair, for example, will stick to it. Obviously, you'll want to wash it after use as well. I keep mine in the original plastic packaging to make it easier, but a non-linty bag will do in a pinch.
Easy to clean
Easy to store
Follow-up commentaryI don't like it anymore1 month after original review
Though I haven't used it that much, my Climax Gems Rod has died. It is no more. It is an ex Climax Gems Rod.
It just stopped turning on one day. I have changed batteries and taken a look to see if anything got inside the battery compartment, but as far as I can see, it's just burnt out.
Oh well, it served me well while it lasted!

Sorry the vibe died on you! I hate it when that happens. Thanks for the heads up.
