For anal, the Zone Bliss is a solid vibrator. You will enjoy its power and it is easy enough to use, but the design limits your flexibility to move around. You'll need to stay in one spot. This is definitely worth trying, but you will probably enjoy it best when you are in the mood for a session when you use several of your toys. It makes a good appetizer, but will not be a good meal by itself.

Pros
Nice strong vibration, No one will know it is a vibrator.
Cons
Base tips over easily, Switch location not ideal, Not quiet at all, Mobility is limited.
This purple rocket ship may have been designed to give clitoral stimulation (alas, I don't have a clitoris), but I wanted to know whether it could give me some backdoor satisfaction. It did. The Zone Bliss is not very long so it won't go in as far as many plugs. However, it is really thick (about 2" at the bottom), so it does open you up nicely. The tripod base is intended for you to sit on it and feel the intense vibration patterns. There are seven vibration options, some of which are really strong. Those strong vibrations stimulate the perineum as well, so you can get nice internal and external stimulation at the same time. This is a good toy if you like really intense vibration and the stretching feeling of a thick plug. It definitely is good to warm up with another toy first so you are nice and open when you insert the Zone Bliss. However, if you like a good long vibrating dildo, that is not this toy and you will be disappointed.
The insertable part of the Zone Bliss is made of silicone. It has prominent ridges that run along the sides for added stimulation. The insertable part is actually a thick silicone cap that can be removed and that sits on a plastic base. While the silicone is soft and flexible, the base gives the toy its rigidity. The tripod on which the toy rests is hard plastic. None of that plastic is going inside of you, but you will feel it when you sit all the way down on the Zone Bliss.
The design of the Zone Bliss is very sci-fi. It looks like a cross between a purple three-legged alien and a spaceship. The insertable portion is about 3.5" long and a whopping 2" at its thickest point (the top is more tapered). This will only stay in you if you sit directly on top of it, and so it has a tripod with small rubber grips so that it can rest firmly on the floor (or any hard level surface). Think of it like a little vibrating Sit and Spin (minus the spinning). However, there are a few design problems with the tripod: (1) the tripod base tends to tip over if you move to much (forget about trying to bounce up and down on it!). You need to just sit on it and enjoy the vibrations. (2) Although the vibrations are intense, they are controlled by buttons that are very close to your ass when you are on the toy- hence you can accidentally change the settings. Because of the 2" thickness, I would say that this is not a beginner toy. The base makes it a bit bulky for travel (unless you are going someplace by car). One plus though, it is very discreet. Most people will think it is some kind of kid's toy.
The best thing about the Zone Bliss is the variety of vibration modes. There are seven ranging from mild to wild. The most powerful really pulse nicely through you. Just be careful not to accidentally hit the power or speed buttons while you are sitting on it. However, as good as those vibrations feel, they are not quiet. This toy makes some noise, so make sure there is background noise going on if you are intending to be discreet about using it. It uses 3 AA batteries (that explains its power), which is a plus because it is easy to replace them when you need to. Since the battery pack is in the bottom of the base, I would not recommend getting it wet. Of course, you can lube up the top to your heart's content.
Despite how the Zone Bliss looks when you first see it, the toy is actually very easy to take care of. The insertable cap will be the part that is inside you, and that part is easily removed from the toy by pulling up on it. That part is made of silicone and can be cleaned with soap and water or in the dishwasher. The hard parts of the toy (including the base) can just be wiped down. Do not expose the base of the toy to running water or you will just be left with memories of how it used to be a vibrator. Use water-based lubes with this since you are playing with a silicone insertable.
The Zone Bliss comes in a clear cylindrical package. It is much bigger than the toy itself, and so there is lots of wasted space in the package. That's too bad because it really is the best way to store the toy given the wide base the Zone Bliss has. This is not a toy that will fit neatly into your nightstand or in your smallish toy box. The good news is that most people will have no idea what it is, so you can leave it out without worries. It did not come with instructions, but you'll figure it out pretty quickly.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Zone Bliss. You have to accept the limitations of this toy. You do not bounce up and down on it. You do not move around in all sorts of positions. It is not realistic feeling. If you are a size queen, it will not even come close to satisfying you. But, and here is the big BUT, if you are willing to just sit down on it and enjoy the vibrations, it is very satisfying. It didn't bring me to orgasm, but I did enjoy using it until I was ready to switch to a longer toy.
Because this is relatively thick for anal, I recommend using a plug to open yourself up before playing with this toy. Try out the different vibration patterns to find the one(s) that you like the most. I wouldn't say that the Zone Bliss will be the standout in your toy chest, but it nice sitting on top of all of that beautiful vibration. Think of it as a nice appetizer. For variety, it will be a useful addition.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it2 months after original review
I won't say that I like it any less at this point, but the base limits how I can use the Zone Bliss and I have other toys with no such limits. Still a toy worth trying out, but it hasn't risen to the top of my toychest.
