The Lighted Shimmers Hummer is what clits would dream of if clits had dreams. It's fantastic for direct clitoral stimulation even at the lowest levels and if your anatomy allows for it, can also be used as a g-spot stimulator.

Pros
Strong vibrations, multiple speeds, unique design
Cons
Vibration may be too strong for some at the highest setting. The light can be distracting.
The Lighted Shimmers Hummer is designed for clitoral stimulation, but the vibrations are strong enough that you could probably also use it as a pinpoint neck or shoulder massager, if you had an area of localized pain.
The design is a little awkward if you try to use it for insertion (it's very straight and not at all flexible), but there's a small nub that juts out that does feel great against my g-spot if I do penetrate myself with it. I've found that it's much more suitable as a clitoral vibrator, though.
The Lighted Shimmers Hummer is made of hard plastic that is not at all flexible or bendable. It's extremely smooth and glides easily. I used it with no lube and had no issue at all, but it's safe for water, silicone, or oil-based lubes.
The Lighted Shimmers Hummer is a little over 7" long and fairly small in diameter. I would say it's probably about average as far as traditional-style clitoral vibrators; it's not as small as a bullet vibe, but it's not something that would intimidate a beginner, either.
The tip has two distinct sides--an indented area that's about 3/4" long and is designed to be placed up against the clit and another side that has a small (1/8") nub. I have used the nub for both g-spot stimulation and against my clit, I really enjoyed it both ways. I don't know that it would work for everyone as far as g-spot stimulation: since you can't change the position of it or bend it in any way, it would really depend on your anatomy as to whether or not you'd be able to reach your g-spot with it. For this reason, I wouldn't recommend buying it exclusively for g-spot stimulation. But, it works excellently as a clitoral vibrator, so don't let that turn you off of this product.
What's unique about the Lighted Shimmers Hummer, is the light-up function. The light's intensity changes as you change the vibration levels--at full power, it's nearly as bright as a small flashlight!
The Lighted Shimmers Hummer is controlled by an easy-to-use dial on the bottom. The tip is the only part that has a part inside that vibrates (you can see the little metal piece whirling around inside when you turn it on), but the vibrations are strong enough that you can feel them even in your hand--my hand's actually felt numb after every time I've used it because it's so strong. It seems to have four distinct speeds, but even the lowest speed is quite strong (perhaps a little weaker than most electric toothbrushes). The highest setting is quite powerful--I'm someone that likes strong vibrations and it's almost too strong for me. It's easily felt through pants or underwear. It is pretty loud on the highest setting and I probably wouldn't risk using it if I had a roommate, unless there were at least two doors between us.
It is waterproof, but I have yet to use it in the water, so I'm unsure of how it performs.
The Lighted Shimmers Hummer is made of a hard plastic and thus is suitable for oil, water, or silicone-based lubes.
The material is not at all porous and is not difficult to clean. The only area that I could see posing a bit of a problem during clean-up is the indented area designed to be placed up against the clit, but that's just a slight ridge you'd have to make sure to scrub around. It doesn't seem to retain any odors or have a tendency to get dirty-looking (I've just been cleaning it with water and a mild soap).
Follow-up commentaryI still like it1 month after original review
I wish there was an option for "I love this toy more than words can express," because I've fallen head over heels for this one! I think its real strength is as a g-spot stimulator. I rarely use it on my clit, but I had no idea anything could feel so great internally. I would like to add that I did use it in the shower once & found some water inside afterwards--it didn't damage it & I admit that it may have been my fault (I'm not sure if the battery cap was screwed on 100%), but I probably won't be using it in the water again, just in case.
