The Lelo Liv can be used internally (but not in your bum unless you want to risk the nurses laughing at you) in the vagina, externally on the clitoris, or elsewhere on your body for a light massage. I used it for solo play, but I imagine it could be a good warm-up tool for couples. It's very discreet- very nearly silent under a blanket and it has a function to disable the controls, so you could pack it in your suitcase without embarrassing yourself at the airport, so it's good for travel and houses with thin walls.

The material is high quality, odourless, flavourless, and has a kind of soft velvety feel to it. However, I found that it has a little too much drag for comfortable penetration.

I wasn't terribly impressed with the design. When using it externally on my clitoris, there just wasn't anywhere to hold onto it and apply firm pressure at the same time. Internally, it was nice. Something longer would be better, both to give you something to hold onto and maybe have some thrusting action before it just falls out, and also because there is a metal ring separating the silicone from the plastic portion and, well, liquid would get into the little spaces in between and be impossible to clean. Definitely looks like a vibrator, but at least it looks like a classy vibrator.

I could never quite locate where the vibrations were located. It had several rhythms and variable speed. I had a little bit of trouble locating the button I wanted in the heat of the moment but the buttons are pretty straight forward, and you can find them with your sense of touch. Did I mention that the vibrations are a little weak? The highest setting was like the lowest setting on my bullet vibe. Whisper quiet, though.

Wash with soap and water, keep away from silicone lubes and other silicone toys. It collects hair and lint a little bit, but not excessively. The little crevices between the metal ring and the rest of it will collect your DNA.

You may have noticed that this review was written in past tense. I got it quite a while ago and it lasted a long time, but it slowly started dying on me (becoming weaker and not holding a charge for as long). And when it started dying, I started ignoring the instructions and used it with it plugged into the wall, which put it out of its misery. It was an alright toy, the weaker vibrations would eventually get me off - I just had to put a little more time and effort into it. RIP, Liv, but I like your cheaper replacement better.
