A Flash of Pleasure

I have a smaller anatomy and am always on the lookout for smaller rabbit style vibrators. Flash was almost perfect. It fit right and the silicone was soft and plushy. However, not enough power gets into the clitoral arm for me to use this as intended. I still make do and love this vibrator, it's just not as perfect as it could have been.

Use

Bimini Flash is one of the Bimini series vibrators by Fun Factory. In case you were wondering, Bimini is one of the districts in the Bahamas. Flash is a petite dual stimulation vibrator. It has a main shaft that is inserted vaginally and a small attachment arm that can be used to stimulate the clitoris or anus, depending on how you hold the vibrator. It does not have a flared base, so it probably shouldn't be used anally. However, the attachment arm may be able to stop this from getting lost for advanced anal users. As always with a non-flared toy, proceed with caution.

It's a rechargeable, waterproof toy. It can be used anywhere including the tub or shower. It's good for partner or solo play. I find that most dual stimulator toys are best used without thrusting, so if your partner prefers a thrusting toy, this may not be the best for partner play.

As with any rabbit style vibrator, a lot will come down to individual anatomy. A good starting point is this thread which will teach you how to take your measurements and show you the differences in female anatomy. This explains why rabbits may work for some but not others.

Material / Texture

Flash is made of silicone, which puts it at a 10 on the safety scale. Flash features a very plush silicone. While there is a hard inner core, the outer silicone layer has a lot of give to it. At the very head where there is no harder core, I can squeeze the silicone and get it to come in some. There is a large amount of drag to Flash, which means you'll want to use lube when you use this. The great thing about Flash is that every though it has a plush feel to it, it doesn't feel sticky or tacky. A lot of times to get a plush feeling in silicone you end up with a somewhat tacky product. Not so with this vibrator. It's still a lint and hair magnet, so you'll want to wash it off before you use it.

There is a fair amount of give in the silicone of the attachment. While the shaft has a rigid base underneath, the attachment is all silicone. This allows for some movement in the clitoral attachment if desired. It will not move around on its own, but you can press it down to create more pressure.

It is a smooth surface with no added texture. There is a design to it (see picture above) that allows for some additional texture, however. The vibrator is not perfectly cylindrical in shape. It flattens out towards the ends to give a bit of a different feel. I have some texture sensitivities and this did not aggravate them. I could tell it wasn't rounded when inserted, but couldn't make out the exact shape differences when it was inside.

There is a slight smell, but it is a powdery smell and pretty pleasant. There is also a powdery taste.

I think this silicone would be great for beginners and advanced users. While the drag is significant, a good lube will fix that right up and make this silicone feel wonderful. The plush aspect makes it great for beginners since it has a bit of a give to it. It also makes a great experience for those that are more advanced that like something a little less rigid.

Design / Shape / Size

Flash is one of Toy Factory's smaller vibrator options. As usual, I get different measurements than the product page. My disclaimer on that is that I'm not the best at measuring, so the actual size is probably somewhere between what I got and what the page says. For total length, I got 5 inches. The product pages lists 5.5". I got 4 inches in length from the base of the attachment to the tip, which isn't exactly accurate for insertable length, but a measurement I like to include. From the tip of the attachment to the head of the vibrator is 3 inches, which is also the insertable length. The product page also lists 3" for this. At the widest point, I got 1.25 inches in diameter. The product page lists 1 3/8". I think they may be right on this because once it gets down to fractional measurements, I'm useless. Near the tip, I got .75 inches in diameter. The clitoral attachment is 1 inch in length and .5 inches in diameter.

This vibrator fits nicely in my hand. If held to the tip of my middle finger, it comes to about the middle of my palm.

I always like more petite vibrators. In fact, the size of this was the reason I picked it up. I was happy with the diameter of it, but wouldn't have minded if it had a little more length. At 3 inches insertable, I was still pleased with this. Those that need or prefer a lot of size should probably look elsewhere, since this smaller vibrator will likely not be satisfying.

So let's talk anatomy for a minute. Remember to check out this thread to see where you stand. Now, I had a hard time getting the clit to urethra measurement that the study conducted. I do know that from clit to opening is right around 1cm on me. For clit to urethra falls somewhere between 16-18mm, so I'm on the smaller end. I found that the attachment on this fit nicely when the vibrator was entirely inserted. It fell pretty much exactly where it was supposed to fall. I would say this should be a good fit for those who are spaced closely together or about average. If you are spaced wider apart than the average, this may not work for you.

I don't think there should be any worries for a beginner or advanced user at this size. It's going to come down to anatomy and personal preference for size. It's a great starter rabbit style for beginners that want to start with something smaller than the traditional rabbit style and also great for advanced users that like their vibrators on the smaller side.

Due to the smaller size, Flash is easy to hide away if you don't want prying eyes to know what you have. It does look very much like a vibrator to me and I'm not sure what else you could say this is if someone did see it.

Functions / Performance / Controls

There are two buttons near the base of the vibrator that operate the functions. One has a plus sign and one a minus. To turn on, hold the plus button for about three seconds. To turn up, press the plus button once. Once you reach the highest speed setting, you activate the patterns by holding the plus sign for about three seconds. Once in pattern mode, press the plus button once to change the pattern or minus to go back down in pattern or speed. To turn off, hold the minus sign down until it goes back to the lowest setting and then press the minus button again.

The buttons are easy to control, even during use. They are not hard to press, but do require enough force that you shouldn't have a problem accidentally hitting them when in use. They are located in a convenient location to be able to change settings without having to remove the toy from your body.

The manual says there are three speed settings to Flash. I seem to count out five when I go through the clicks up and down. Either way, the first speed setting is a very low rumble that comes in at one vroom. When at this setting, it's hard to tell if the vibrator is even on. At the highest, it comes in at a mid to mid-high level four vrooms. There's a lot of variety on the settings and there should be something for everyone other than the most power hungry. I personally prefer a level five vibrator, but internally can use a four and sometimes a three if the vibrations are rumbly enough. The vibrations of Flash felt great to me, even though I longed for one more power setting up.

The vibration of Flash are on the rumbly side of vibrations. When I hold it in my hand, I can feel some undercurrent of buzz to the rumble. When I used it, I couldn't feel the buzz as much and it felt mostly rumbly. So it's not the rumbliest out there, but it's rumbly enough to classify it that way.

The first pattern goes through the power levels, starting at a mid level power and going up to the higher power level. It transitions fairly smoothly, though I can feel it change somewhat from each level. The next is a moderate speed pulse. The next is a fast paced pulse.

The vibrations are evenly distributed through the shaft. There is a slightly stronger feel near the tip, but for the most part you can feel them equally through the vibrator. There probably isn't enough extra strength to the tip to make it an ideal external vibrator.

Because of the thick silicone and the fact the the vibrations are located in the shaft (I'm assuming the motor is near the front), very little vibrations translates to the attachment arm. Even at full power, I would put the attachment at about three vrooms. This was what I liked least about this vibrator. The clitoral arm just wasn't strong enough for me to be able to use it.

Flash isn't the loudest toy in the world, but it's not silent either. I can muffle it slightly with covers, but it is still audible through them. I can hear it every so slightly through a closed door. It it louder than my cell phone's vibrate mode by a decent amount.

Fun Factory's Click And Charge vibrators all operate with a magnetic charger. On the Flash, this magnetic charger connects at the base of the vibrator. You can use any Fun Magnetic Plug on this vibrator as they are interchangeable, as per the manual. The initial charge time seemed to be around four hours.

Since there is no charging port, Flash is waterproof. I have been able to submerge this as well as wash it with no problems.

Care and Maintenance

Waterproof vibrators are always easiest to care for. Just wash off with soap and water or toy cleaner or spray. No worries about destroying motors with the water.

Only water based lubes should be used with Flash. Silicone lubes can potentially degrade the material.

You can use the original packaging for storage if you like. You can also store this in a pouch. Make sure that it does not touch other silicone vibrators in storage as this could also degrade the material.

Packaging

I'll be honest. I think Fun Factory has nice packaging because of the magnets, but I don't think it's as nice as the price point would suggest. This isn't quite in the $100+ range, but it is close and I feel like there should be a bit more added to the packaging other than some cool magnets. Maybe that's just me, as I'm picky about packaging.

Anyhow, Flash comes in a light gold colored box where Flash is displayed through a clear cut out in the front. The front says "Fun Factory" and "Biminis Click N Charge Vibes." The back has a picture of Flash in white and the charger. The back is magnetized and opens to reveal the instruction manual as well as some information about Flash and Fun Factory.

Note that the charger comes packaged separately. It comes in a small square box, independent of the vibrator itself.

Personal comments

I love my Flash, however there is a fatal flaw. There just isn't enough vibration to the attachment arm. If you need a lot of strength in a clitoral attachment, this probably won't work as a dual stimulator for you. However, I use this as a regular vibrator with the attachment moved to the side with great results. If you don't mind doing that, I would still say to pick this up. If that would drive you crazy, then maybe pass.

If you don't need strong vibrations to the arm and think this sounds like it would fit you anatomy, I think this is a great choice. It's a great introduction to rabbit style vibrators for a beginner and a lovely addition to an advanced users collection.

Experience

Well, as mentioned, the clit arm just didn't do it for me. I need a lot of power in external stimulators, at least mid range four with a preference for a five vroom in power. The light vibrations that made their way to the arm just weren't enough. However, I still love Flash. The shaft feels lovely in terms of material and vibrations. I really love the Fun Factory silicone. I also liked that this managed to be rumbly despite its small size.

What I end up doing is just moving the arm out of the way and using this as a traditional vibrator. If it was just the shaft, this would get five stars from me. However, since it's meant to be a dual stimulator and I simply can't use it that way, I'm deducting a star from it. I do want to say that I use this a lot and am really glad I bought it, despite it being a pain to have my leg vibrating from the attachment arm. I'm also always sad when I find a rabbit style that fits but there's not enough power.
