A Cooling Gel that You Should Give the Cold Shoulder

Possible health concerns relating to three of this product's main ingredients should make you think twice before purchase. Even if you don't have a problem with L-Arginine, L-Orinthine, or Peppermint Oil, the gel is unpredictable in its sensations, and no one wants to risk that fun little button we call the clitoris.

Use

This is designed specifically for women to increase blood flow to the clitoris, and enabling quicker, stronger, or more orgasms. The manufacturer recommends its use for all kinds of sex play including foreplay, intercourse, or masturbation with toys. However, there are three ingredients found in Intimate Organics' Clitoral Stimulating Gel that you may want to be aware of. First is L-Arginine, second is L-Ornithine, and lastly, Peppermint oil.

The following pieces of information refer to supplemental L-Arginine, meaning the kind that is ingested, but for those who are particularly sensitive or have health concerns, you may want to do further research or consult your doctor. L- Arginine, an amino acid found naturally in the body, in excess may result in headache, nausea, and indigestion. It may lower blood pressure as it aids in the formation of nitric oxide in the body, relaxing blood vessels. L-Arginine should not be used following a heart attack. In some studies, patients who used L-Arginine after a heart attack suffered greater incidences of death. It may increase potassium levels, particularly in people who have liver disease. L-Arginine may increase blood sugar levels (it can be broken down into sugars) so it should not be used by people with diabetes. Perhaps most importantly because this product is designed for sexual use, is that it can cause Herpes medication to be less effective and therefore cause Herpes outbreaks to be worse. Once again, these side effects are related to L-Arginine supplements that are ingested, and it is by no means an exhaustive list. You should be aware of its presence in the product and make the decision that is best for you. For more information from reputable sources, try searching MayoClinic.com. L-orinthine is a very similar chemical that is related to stimulating Human Growth Hormone in the body, making it a choice of many body builders trying to gain lots of muscle mass. Peppermint oil is generally considered safe for adults, but there is a possibility of allergic reaction.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Easy to squeeze out of its small tube, this clear gel feels somewhat like a thin, alcohol based hair gel. It will not easily stay in place so you should expect plenty of dripping.

Taste / Aroma

This gel has a very strong smell that is immediately noticeable upon opening the tube. Minty, medicinal, and something reminiscent of vodka, it seems quite similar to taking a whiff of Listerine. The taste is also quite like Listerine, minty, cooling but also a little numbing to sensitive tongues.

Performance

Intimate Organics recommends rubbing a pea sized amount of their gel onto your clitoris and then adding more if desired. It is long lasting so if you need to cut off the sensation, plenty of soap and water will be needed to do so.

Packaging

A very small tube, only one ounce, it wouldn't hurt to keep this out on your dresser or counter,. It simply resembles a travel sized shampoo or body wash. The photo on the front is a tasteful nude female and few instructions are provided on the back. It would be suitable for travel because of its size and how well the cap stays on, keeping the product securely inside.
    • Does not leak
    • Easy to use / dispense

Experience

The first time I used this product it was with the intention of heightening sensation during masturbation with a bullet vibrator. After applying the recommended pea sized dollop and waiting a few moments, I felt nothing and tried a second application, still nothing. I did a little research online and found that in some instances women may need several applications before the effects work for them. Pushing forward, I tried applying the gel again for another session with my bullet vibrator. This time I only felt the slightest tingle. Finally, I pulled it out for use with my boyfriend during oral sex. Shortly after getting the gel on my clitoris it felt cold, then freezing, then that my clitoris was ice. I had to cut the session short and run to the shower. Even the warm water felt so very cold, it was becoming painful. After plenty of soap and water I was finally able to get my lady bits back to normal, and I haven't been able to use the gel again. In the experience of my boyfriend, performing oral sex and therefore getting the gel in his mouth, he said it tasted like a minty Vodka and made his tongue first very cold, then numb.

I could see the effects being desirable by some people, even with the extreme cold. I can't say I'd want to get any for my wife, though. Thanks for the review.

Very good and informative. Who would have thought that people would need to check the ingredients of their bedroom enhancers before use.
