This dildo is definitely worth it because it's not expensive at all, high quality silicone, and will get any job done suitable for a finger-sized dildo. I think anyone out there whose stuck in vanilla sex should take advantage of this silk's un-intimidating nature and explore other options!
It is small. At only an insertable length of 3 and 3/4 inches and an overall circumference of 3 inches (1 inch diameter), it is about the size of a long finger. So this is not for the size queens or anyone seeking 'fulfillment'.
It is smooth. There are no special textures or coating on this traditional silicone toy.
It is flexible. Unlike the Feeldoe or the Vamp (and other traditional Tantus toys), the small silk is super bendable and has more squishiness to it than the two aforementioned toys.
So knowing that it is small, smooth, and flexible, I purchased it as a minimal penetration toy for anal use. And for the purpose of this dildo, it far surpassed my expectations.
It's harness compatible with a sturdy base, which also means it's safe to use anally even when solo because it won't disappear into the colon. But it's also one I would recommend for anyone new to penetration (whether male or female or any orifice). And one commonly overlooked usage is as a dilator for MTF transwomen and any woman recovering from vaginal surgery.
I was very happy with the small silk when I pulled it out of its box. It was high quality Tantus silicone and yet it was soft and very flexible, unlike Tantus's Feeldoe. I knew this toy would be great for anal play, even for a beginner like me. Since it's so flexible and soft, it will provide no painful issues with insertion either vaginally or anally.
The toy is completely smooth with a very slight drag to the silicone, carries no funky odor, is non-porous, and is completely sterlizable. An all around win.
I love this toy. I honestly expected it to be a lot firmer and more rigid than it actually was. But it was a pleasant surprise to find it was soft and flexible. The slight curve for G-spot or P-spot stimulation is also subtle enough for beginners and provides no threat of "over poking" any body part since it's so soft.
It's great for beginners because there's nothing intimidating or advanced about it. It doesn't look real, comes in fun colors, it's soft, flexible, and very smooth. I wish this was what my partner and I started with because slowly increasing the size of penetration would have been a lot less painful than starting at the top with a rigid and thick Feeldoe.
Because it's so small, it's very easy to tote around for travel. It could fit in your pocket! But it's silicone and can grab plenty of lint in your clothes before use so make sure you wash it.
The silk may be small but it does and will perform! It's silicone material will ensure it lasts forever and can be successfully sterilized after use to prevent lingering 'scent of butt' or whatever lube you use. Also the fact that the base was big enough for a harness and not just a small base in proportion to the dildo makes this a very flexible toy indeed.
So try it solo, with a partner, manually, in a harness, vaginally, anally, on the bed, in shower, anything goes!
Silicone toys are very easy to care for and Tantus in particular does a great job at making high quality silicone toys. You can wash it with warm water and soap, a toy cleaner, in a 10% bleach solution, etc. And because this toy is so small, it can be hidden anywhere to easily grab it for play.
Make sure to only use water-based lubricants with silicone toys as silicone-based lubes can degrade the toy. Just washing it and using the right lube can help it last forever!
Even though this toy is very small (compared to the average dildo), Tantus didn't skimp on the packaging and it came in a mini-version of the same packaging as the rest of their high-quality dildos. I was very impressed.
The box is great for storage and you could even throw another small toy or bottle of lube in there with it for traveling. But the box is completely clear so it's not discreet. But if it's a gift to a partner or a close friend, all you need is a pretty bow on top to gift it!
Follow-up commentaryI still like it5 months after original review
Now that I'm moving onto more small anal toys, I have a greater appreciation for my silk. (Was that even possible? I loved you so much to begin with!) It's a great starter dildo for penetration of any orifice and feels amazingly soft, smooth, and flexible. And since it's harness compatible, that base almost makes it anal safe. And I'm honestly a lover of Tantus silicone because of the high quality, easy cleanability, and lack of odor. Nope, you simply can't go wrong with this little guy.

Great review.
The lint factor is one thing that bothers me about silicone. My kitty shares me bed so I'm always having to wash or use wipes on my toys - even though I don't sit them on the bed.
But I do love that they last!
