And here I thought Pyrex glass was for the lab and baking! The Rainbow Bliss is a great glass dildo for anyone looking for light texture and temperature play. Sterilizable, it can also be shared for more *ahem* sexy situations.
Ah... Rainbow Bliss, you are a lovely sight to behold. A glass dildo, this beauty is designed for a variety of play. It can be used vaginally or anally since it can be sterilized (anally because it has a flared base). It can also be used for group play or be shared when cleaned properly. Temperature play is another option with glass dildos. Warm it up for warm play or stick it in the fridge for cold play.
For those new to glass but not new to toys, the Rainbow Bliss could be a great first glass toy. For those new to toys in general, I would recommend more forgiving/yielding materials for a first toy. You can bruise your lady bits/innards if this toy is thrusted to vigorously.
The Rainbow Bliss can work for those who need discretion since this dildo makes no sound (other than potential moans as a by product). It can be taken in the shower as well (silicone lube might be good in those situations).
This is in not way a toy designed for long-term anal wear or as a toy to simulate double penetration. Glass in unyielding the the natural curbed of the body, so this toy couldn't be used comfortable for lengthy anal wear. Since it is glass, it's heavy and will most likely fall out or become too cumbersome if you decide to use this toy to aid in simulating double penetration. The base is also probably too small for some O-ring harnesses.
The Rainbow Bliss is made out of pure Pyrex glass. The name Pyrex does indeed carry weight. This is the glassware research labs use when dealing with a variety of chemicals and microbes. In short, this is a good quality glass (pyrex also makes great Tupperware/bakeware!)
Glass is non-porous, so no bacteria can harbor inside the toy. Glass is hypoallergenic and has no allergens such as latex or phthalates. It ranks a 10 out of 10 on the safety scale. It it also pretty hardy for glass and shouldn't shatter if it breaks (according to pyrex glass rules). It is always important to inspect your glass toys before every use.
There is texture on the toy. The head is somewhat realistic to the head of a penis. It is tapered and has a bulge. After that, the shaft has yellow, red, and blue swirls on it. The swirls are spaced far apart texture wise. If you can handle the size of this toy (really the head is the biggest part) then the texture should be fun. The texture itself is beginner friendly. It can be felt but shouldn't be difficult to manage. It always helps to add lubricant if needed. Those who are looking specifically for texture might want to consider other glass toys that have either nubs or deep ridges.
Glass is unyielding and will not bend in anyway. Always be cautious when starting with glass toys until you know your limits in terms of thrusting and force.
The overall design of the Rainbow Bliss is basic with the addition of some colorful swirls. In terms of size, it is not too intimidating. Here are a couple of picture of the Rainbow Bliss compared to a pencil and Nubby G. The colors look different because 1 picture is taken with the camera flash (left) and one without flash. I did this to show how natural light reflects and shows on the class and how the colors look.
The Rainbow Bliss is 7 inches long with an insertable length of 6.5 inches. It is 4.5 inches around at its widest point (the base of the head). The head can be used to tease the entrance of the vagina or anus. The size is not necessarily beginner friendly, but okay for those who are maybe looking for a third or fourth toy.
The toy is loosely designed to look like a penis but it isn't exactly realistic. If you're looking for a realistic toy, this one isn't for you. In terms of discretion, the Rainbow Bliss doesn't have any motors or electrical components. It makes no sound. You could travel with it, but you should be careful wrapping it so it doesn't possibly break during travel.
Glass toys really shine for temperature play. You can go warm or cold depending on your preference. It holds heat (or cold) very well. If you just want it a bit warm before use, you can hold the toy between your hands for a minute or two. If you want it even warmer, you can run the Rainbow Bliss under some warm/hot water. Just be careful not to burn yourself (it is technically possible).
Like it cold? Cold water or the fridge is an option for you. After using the toy when cold be prepared for your bits to feel a bit frosty! Pyrex glass can withstand changes in temperatures, but you shouldn't quickly and rapidly make it hot then cold and so on. It could compromise the integrity of the glass.
If you want, you could angle the Rainbow Bliss for some potential G-spotting. Men might have luck with their P-spot as well. If you are looking for P-spotting or G-spotting specifically, there are glass toys with this curve. The Rainbow Bliss is straight with no curve. Still, if you angle it, the toy can provide some firm stimulation. The glass is heavy, so you may tire out your hand quicker. The Rainbow Bliss weighs in at almost three quarters of a pound.
The Rainbow Bliss does not have a suction cup, but has a small, circular base. It doesn't appear large enough for some harnesses.
Glass is a cinch to care for. It can be boiled, but it seems to be not recommended since you can weaken the glass if it cools too rapidly. You can use a 10% bleach solution to sterilize your toy and make it shareable. Glass can be used with all forms of lubricant, silicone and water based.
Once dry, it's best to store your Rainbow Bliss in a place that it will be protected. The orignal packaging is useful here. it also shouldn't be stored at the bottom of the toy box (just to be careful).
The Rainbow Bliss came with what is known to be the common glass packaging for many glass toys here. The Rainbow Bliss came wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a red, velvet sleeve that has a drawstring. In the pouch, the toy is discreet. Unless someone else is a shopper at Eden, they won't think the red velvet bag has a dildo in it.
There were no additional instructions with the packaging. This toy, packaging and all, is a great gift idea.
The Rainbow Bliss was my first glass toy! I got it during the crazy free glass toy give away with any order. If you were there, you know that freebie ended within about 5 days because it was so popular.
I always looked at glass toys but didn't think I'd be a fan. I find my orgasms more intense when using this toy in conjunction with a great clitoral vibe, such as Tango. My partner was interested in how I'd respond to different temperatures. War, was okay, but I repsond to cold more. Now we have a wrapped glass dildo in our fridge at almost any given time.
I've also taught my partner to be ginger with glass toys when using them on me. He has no desire to bruise my lady bits so he tries to be careful. No incidents to report thus far.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it10 months after original review
I enjoy this glass wand still. It's not my favorite glass toy, but it's still nice. You could use it for some funky decorating as well. You can't really go wrong with this style of toy. Additionally, it can be a great way to cool off. Just place it in the fridge first.
