Who needs girth with rippling texture like this
While at first I thought the slimmer girth of the Echo might be underwhelming, the well designed flowing ridges of the Echo certainly proved me wrong as they thrillingly massage with every thrust making girth feel unimportant when compared to its perfect texture.
Published:
Pros
Rippled texture, flared base for anal and strap-on play, slim enough for beginners.
Cons
Single speed bullet, dust magnet.
Packaging:
The Echo arrives in Tantus’ usual style of packaging, a clear plastic box which is free of any sexual imagery. On the back and sides of the packaging you will find plenty of information about the silicone used in Tantus toys. The Echo arrived in what I know as the slightly smaller size of Tantus box (other Tantus items I’ve collected lately seem to show Tantus are making ever larger toys and so there’s larger packaging for recent toys) The Echo fits it’s packaging nicely with no real excess. As the clear plastic box is so transparent, it gives you the advantage of being able to see the toy from every angle while it still sits in the packaging.
A growing pet peeve that I have with Tantus packaging is the sharpness of the plastic and how often the plastic arrives cracked and likely to cut, even when not cracked it’s still quite sharp so care should be taken when opening it. The included silver bullet sits separately to the dildo within the box and has a small circle of paper within its battery compartment to stop any risk of it switching on in transit.
Measurements:
Total length: 7 Inches
Insertable Length: 6 Inches
Circumference: 4 3/4 Inches
Base Diameter: 2 3/4 Inches
First Impression:
With its shiny finish and slimmer girth than expected (Tantus seems to be moving towards matte finishes and wider girths lately) I at first wasn’t sure whether the still highly textured looking Echo would be as stimulating as I hoped.
The head of the Echo is slim and smooth with a head ridge that just matches the rest of its wave-like rippling ridges. The underside of the dildo is smoothed out while the sides and front feature flowing raised ridges that are evenly spaced out and flow into each other. Having opted for the Midnight Purple Echo, the deep shiny and almost looking metallic colour reflects shades of purpley-pink and deep electric blue when the light hits it.
With six inches of insertable length, there are five ridges along the Echo’s shaft and a matching head ridge, a nicely spaced total of one ridge per insertable inch of the toy. The base of the Echo is flared and flexible yet sturdy feeling meaning that it is safe for anal play and suitable for strap-on play.
Functions:
Flared base
Removable bullet
Waterproof
O-ring harness compatible
Compatible with the Tantus suction cup accessory
In Use/Experience:
The small head of the Echo makes for comfortable insertion and the shiny finish silicone means that lube works well with it making it slippery and easily coating its six ridges. The head of the Echo really doesn’t feel any more pronounced than the rest of the ridges and the stimulation from the ridges spreads nicely along the full length of the toy with even the entrance of the vagina feeling massaged by the ridges with every thrust.
Compared with the Tantus Charmer, for me the Echo has a better placement of ridges and the ridges seem a more body-friendly shape meaning that they don’t poke or catch of the pelvic bone at all. The six insertable inches is just enough length for me to feel satisfied and the modest girth isn’t even disappointing (I’m used to thicker toys) when mixed with the perfect waves of texture along its shaft. Having played with the Echo both as a warm up toy before a larger toy and then played with it again directly after a larger toy (the monstrous Tantus T-Rex to be exact) the texture feels just as stimulating at the end of a play session as it does at the beginning.
When used as a dildo alone the base is handy to hold onto and the empty bullet hole in the base allows you to get an even better grip again if you place a finger inside it. The flared base makes it suitable for anal play too if you can handle the texture anally. When placed in an O-ring harness it stays well put although it can only be used as a dildo rather than a vibrator as Tantus vibrators have bullets that protrude from the base getting in the way in a harness.

Experience
Bullet:
Single Speed
Single push button
2 ¼ Inches long
Powered by 3 watch batteries
When the bullet is placed in the Echo’s base and switched on, its vibrations can be clearly felt at the base of the shaft and up to the mid length of the toy but they fade slightly towards the head of the dildo. The bullet has a single speed which when used alone clitorally feels reasonably strong. It’s not the quietest of bullets and doesn’t feel like the sturdiest of bullets either but the hole in the base of the dildo can easily accommodate other bullets so if you have a favourite you want to swap it out for this works.
I’ve always found the bullets included with Tantus toys to be a let down so I personally tend to swap them out for a different/multi-speed bullet instead but with the Echo’s slim build the silicone doesn’t lose too much vibration so it does carry vibration much better than most Tantus vibrators. I do thoroughly enjoy the Echo when just used as a dildo too.
Care:
Made of high-quality Silicone, the Tantus Echo is both Latex and Phthalates free, silicone is completely non-porous meaning that it can be fully disinfected by boiling it for 3 minutes or by throwing it into the top rack of your dishwasher or it can be simply washed after use with warm soapy water or specialized toy cleaner, it is generally believed that silicone based lubricants should not be used with silicone toys. I would recommend using a generous amount of water-based lubricant with the Echo as its silicone has a matte finish.
When not in use, I keep mine in a Zip-sealed plastic bag; this keeps him dust and lint free as silicone toys are well known for attracting hairs and dust and the Echo is no exception.

Thanks for the great review and pics. I liked that you talked about using it for a warm up and then used it after a large toy with success. I was worried about that.
