Too Much Art, Not Enough Dildo

Eos is a beautifully designed dildo. However, I'm thinking they spent more time on the art design than determining if the shape would feel good. I'm not saying it won't work for anyone, but it felt like a combination of odd and boring for me. It's not awful, but it's nothing particularly special either. This is a dildo that will have a limited user base to it - those that need little curve or bulge for G spot stimulation and aren't thrown off by the size changes.

Use

Eos is a glass dildo with a very different shape than many. It’s made by Luxotiq. It features a larger round center with two ends that are much smaller. One end is curved while the other is straight. The curved end can be used for G spot stimulation.

Eos is definitely a unique dildo. The shape and sensation is unlike others. It is intended for vaginal use. It does not flare at the base or feature any type of extreme curving, so it is not suitable for anal use. When using vaginally, care should be taken to avoid injury to the cervix. This means hard, vigorous thrusting is probably out for most people. Extra care should be taken if you decide to use this with a partner who won’t have a sense of how far is too far.

Material / Texture

Eos is made of Pyrex glass. This gives it a rating of ten on the safety scale. Pyrex is the brand name for borosilicate glass. This is a special type of glass that is resistant to shattering. If it were to drop, it would break into large chunks rather than many small pieces.

As you may have guessed, glass is a hard material. It does not bend or mold to the body during use. It is best for those that prefer a firm and rigid toy. It is unforgiving due to the hardness, but can be extremely pleasurable because of this as well.

The surface of Eos is completely smooth. There is no texturing on it. There is a medium sized letter “L” (for Luxotiq) on it. This is raised very slightly and may bother those who are sensitive to seaming. There is no drag to the material and the hand glides easily across it. Only a small amount of lubrication is needed for those that wish. If you produce a good amount of lubrication on your own, lubrication may not be needed at all.

My general feeling on glass is that it is best for those who have used a few toys and decided they want something firm. I wouldn’t really recommend it as a first toy material due to the hardness of it and potential for injury. When choosing a first glass toy, one without texture such as Eos may be preferable depending on what other toys you have used. For experienced glass users, this will be best for those that prefer a smooth surface. Texture lovers will find no such thing on Eos and may want to look for something a bit more suitable to that preference.

Design / Shape / Size

Eos is listed as 9” long on the product page. I measure mine at 8.75”. This could be due to it being glass as glass toys tend to have some differences from toy to toy. The max diameter is 1 5/8”. Each end is 1 1/8” at the widest point and comes inward to .75”.

You can see it in my hand for size reference here:

I generally prefer my toys on the smaller side (1”-1.5” in diameter), so Eos was ever so slightly out of size range for me. Since it is made of glass, it feels even more filling than a toy of the same size made of a more plushy material. As I’ve worked my way up to larger toys lately, this didn’t pose a problem for me. It doesn’t fit my exact measurement preferences, but it’s something I can work with. Eos provides a somewhat full sensation, but nothing like you’ll get from a larger toy. It doesn’t give a stretched out feeling, at least not to me. It worked well length-wise, giving enough to be inserted and leave a good amount for a handle.

Eos will work best for those that like mid-sized toys. Size queens will be left wanting more with this toy. Those that prefer a smaller toy will likely feel like the size is too much. Due to the larger diameter of the middle section, I would not recommend Eos to those who have not experienced penetration before. If you are used to toys of this size but in softer materials, keep in mind that the harder material does cause it to feel larger.

The design of Eos really makes it stand out from other toys. It has two different shaped ends connected to a thicker middle section. Each of the ends is very small in comparison to the larger middle. One end is curved upward slightly. The curve comes from the end only, not from the middle of the toy. This gives it only a minor curve. It is rounded at the tip. The other end is straight but smaller than the middle. It is also rounded at the tip.

Performance

The feeling of Eos is unlike any other dildo I have. The end that curves is a very small curve. Because the size of the end is smaller than the middle, it makes this curve seem even less intense. Despite the minor amount of curve, it was still noticeable. It didn’t put pressure on my G spot, but it grazed against it. I could feel it hit, but not in the same way that a bulb head would or an intense curve. Almost like a scraping sensation, if you will. I’m not sure that I would really describe this as pleasurable, but it wasn’t awful either. It didn’t really do anything for me one way or the other. The size difference between the end and the middle was noticeable and also created a strange sensation.

That strange sensation of different sizing is more noticeable on the other end where the only thing you get is the size differences. There’s no curve, just the rounded end with the jump in size at the tip. You can distinctly feel where it gets smaller. It doesn’t slowly get smaller, it just goes from big to small suddenly. It felt sort of awkward, like it just shouldn’t be that way. It just feels like there should be some sort of middle ground or taper down instead of the big size jump. The tip was also so small that it felt a little bit pokey.

What did feel nice was the size of the middle of the toy. It created a somewhat full feeling without being overly so. It didn’t give a stretched sensation at all, but did satisfy in terms of size. It’s unfortunate that the tips were so odd since the middle was promising.

Glass can be used for temperature play. You can run it under cold or hot water to change the temperature of the toy. You can also place it in the fridge to make it extra cool. Be sure to check the temperature of the toy on your wrist before inserting it. This isn’t something I personally do since I’m usually happy with the slight cool sensation that glass has from storage.

Care and Maintenance

Glass is easy to care for. You have a number of options for cleaning. You can wash it down with soap and water. You can also use a toy cleaner or spray. To fully sanitize it, you can place it in the dishwasher or boil it for three minutes. You should not put it in cold temperatures directly after boiling as this may cause the glass to break.

Any lubrication can be used with this toy. Water, silicone, and oil based lubes are all compatible.

The packaging it comes in makes okay storage for the toy. If you prefer, you can purchase a padded pouch to store it in. Make sure the pouch is padded for the added protection offered.

Packaging

Eos comes in a white and pink box. It says simply Luxotiq on the front in scripting. The box is tied with a ribbon. When opened, Eos is displayed in white sating with padding underneath. Included in the box is a small cloth for wiping off fingerprints (which you’ll get a lot of) and a business card sized instruction “manual.” The card includes care instructions for the glass.

The packaging makes for okay storage. The ribbons do not stay tied very well so if you lift it the wrong way the toy can fall out. This makes it not ideal, but can be used if you’re careful. It is padded, so that’s a plus. It would make a lovely gift as it’s quite a pretty box.

Personal comments

Who will this work best for? Well, for once, I’m honestly not sure. I can tell you who it won’t work for and you can check yourself off the list that way, I suppose. It won’t work if you need an extreme curve for your G spot and are seeking something for that purpose. It won’t work if you’re looking for G spot stimulation and need a large bulge. It won’t work if you need very large or very small sizes in a toy. That leaves those that aren’t looking for G spot stimulation but want to try a more unique shape. It also leaves those with very sensitive G spots that will respond to nearly any type of stimulation provided.

I would only recommend this if you have lots of other toys and really want to try something different just to try something. If you’re looking for a G spotting toy or a traditional glass dildo, I would take a look at some of the other Luxotiq options available or the Phallix line. Both make high quality glass toys in effective shapes for different preferences.

Experience

The very first time I used this, I kinda liked it. It was a sensation I hadn’t experienced before with a dildo. It’s rare when I run into something that I haven’t felt something at least similar to, so new is always good for me. After use number two, I was bored with this. The grazing on my G spot wasn’t enough to bring me anywhere near orgasm. I need a lot of pressure to reach a G spot orgasm and this didn’t apply any. Literally, not even a little bit.

The straight end of this was just...odd. I couldn’t figure out what they were going for when they made it. The jump in size was too great and happened too quickly. It felt like it was done as a visual design rather than something that would be pleasurable to the body. Actually, I sort of feel that way about this toy in general. It’s really pretty to look at, but in use it’s just average.

Don’t get me wrong, this is far from the worst thing I’ve used. It’s not bad, really. I wouldn’t classify it in the “makes me want to bang my head on things” category or anything like that. It’s just sort of, well, boring. It failed to keep my interest and failed to do anything for my body. The quality is there, but the performance just wasn’t.

Thank you for the review. I especially appreciated the photos you uploaded of the packaging (pretty!) and the graph of the size differences. That was the most helpful.
