Despite my personal issues with this toy, I do think it is worth the money. It's easy to clean, beautifully made, and great for anyone to use. It quickly became one of the funnest toys I have.
The Love Thunder can be used for solo pleasure, or, to mix things up a bit, you can let your partner take control while you relax and enjoy. It is great for times when you feel like adding toys to your love-making but you want to keep it simple, or when you just feel like treating yourself. The bonus to this dildo is that it is curved on both ends to hit that elusive G-spot without doing much work. Caution does need to be taken while using this toy due to its material; being that it is glass, it can cause pain or even bruise your cervix if you thrust too hard. Use caution if you intend on using this dildo for anal, as it does not have a flared base; always keep a firm grip and keep in mind you can only take it so far.
While the Love Thunder is beautifully crafted out of borosilicate glass, it is firm and might not be best for beginners as an introduction to glass dildos. Being made of glass leaves this toy smooth, with no smell or taste, and cool to the touch, which is great for temperature play. It is also hypoallergenic, latex-free, nonporous, and phthalates-free, which make it safe for anyone; the user doesn't have to worry about any ill effects.
Upon first seeing the Love Thunder, my very thought was "whoa!" With its slight curve, the swirl on one end, and the beautifully-shaped head on the other, it is just lovely to look at. The blue makes it stand out more and adds more to the look of the dildo. The slight curve helps hit that elusive G-spot and adds to the all-around feel during use. Standing at 8-1/2 inches, with a circumference of 4-3/4 inches and a diameter of 1-1/2 inches, puts this toy in the average range, thus making it a perfect size for anyone. It has a nice, hefty weight of 1 pound.
Those new to glass dildos might want to look into something simple, to get a taste of what they are in for when upgrading to something new and different. Those that have used glass dildos before and are looking for something different, simple, but textured at the same time, this just might be what you are looking for.
This is a double-ended dildo, yet I have found that the swirled end doesn't offer much satisfaction, vaginally, once you get wet. You can't tell where one swirl starts and where one ends. However, anally, you feel each bump and each little dip of the swirl. The phallic-shaped end offers a well-defined head and a smooth shaft, that you feel with each thrust.
Due to the fact that it is made of glass, it is very easy to care for the Love Thunder. Soap and hot water will suffice as a cleaner. When cleaning it, make sure to get in those little twists with a Q-tip (if used anally). You can even boil it, and it is dishwasher-safe. Make sure you are careful when washing so you don't drop it, as it can get a little slippery when wet.
My husband and I prefer water-based lubes, but it works well with any lube that you prefer, and the plus is that you do not need much. It does come with a nice, red storage pouch, but it doesn't offer much protection against other glass dildos or anything that could break or crack it in your toy box. I keep mine in-between two other dildos, so it doesn't have a chance of moving around.
No instructions were needed; it's pretty easy to figure out what this one is for. As for the package, it was a basic, plastic box. The Love Thunder was actually wrapped in bubble-wrap and inside its little pouch, so that was actually great. I was afraid that it would come wrapped in some sort of tissue paper but was very happy to find otherwise.
This was my first glass dildo. I don't know what my initial response was when my husband suggested getting this one. I really do love it, as long as I am warmed-up first. For me, the lip around the head gets caught and tends to hurt a little, but after a little warming up with other toys, it does go away. I also used it as my first anal toy, which worked for me. The twisted end really helped getting me worked-up to being able to take either the other end or my husband. It wasn't painful; it actually didn't hurt at all, so that was a real plus for me. If I knew then what I know now, I would have started off with a basic, glass dildo.
For me, the lip around the head tends to catch, and it can be painful. While I do love this dildo, I am not a fan of the whole pleasure pain thing. It works for some, but that is just not me. I have found a way around that, though; I really need to be warmed-up to use this one. Due to the fact that I need to be warmed-up before its use, the Love Thunder usually ends up being used in the last part love-making.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it6 months after original review
I have come to love the Love Thunder! Despite my issues with it, I do use it often, mainly for warm up to anal. It has become the most used toy I have! I'm just so scared it's going to slip out of my hand one of these days and break. Still, it's easy to clean and I have learned to use a tooth brush to get down in the little twists because a Q tip just doesn't work all that well. I do still say this might be for the more advanced user as the little twists can be a bit much at times. It's going to be hard for me to find another glass dildo that is better this this blue wonder!
