The squirm is dead

The Rooter is not necessarily a bad toy. It just falls short of what it could be in it's squirming capability, which are nearly none. It's a basic dildo that is effective for beginners. Though some may be intimidated by its length, it has an average thickness that is suited for beginners and, given time, may offer more pleasures, given the time to explore.

Pros
Good length. Great width for beginners.
Cons
Squirming ineffective. The metal rod tasked with it is too flimsy to be effective. Strange texture.

Use

The Rooter is not the worst toy out there, but it is far from the best. However, my feelings about it could stem from the fact that I have evolved, over the years, in my expectations. In my earlier, less experienced days, I expect this would be a great toy! It has good length at 10 inches. It has respectable thickness at around 1.75 inch, but not too big for a beginner. It is good as a basic "in-and-out...in-and-out...in-and-out" dildo. The "squirming" nature of this toy is almost non-existent. I expected as much, but held out hope. I thought the length could salvage it, for some deep penetrations, but even with lubrication and a condom, it was not supple or pliable enough to reach very far. I used it for anal purposes, which is par for the course for most of my toys. I consider myself a rather inventive, imaginative person, so I may find more or better uses for it later on in the coming months for my follow-up review.

Material / Texture

Similar to a prior product I reviewed (the behemoth and tasty, shuddering-ly impressive and intimidating, but cannot resist big dildo "Dick Rambone Cock"), it is made of Sil-A-Gel, a plastic/rubber hybrid that is suggested as being less porous as pure rubber. I found good use out of this material before, with a stimulating and erotic texture and overall feel. The Rooter has a visibly pronounced vein texture. However, the material itself feels strange and awkward On one hand, as a whole, it is not pliable enough to reach far inside or fill me in a satisfying way. On the other hand, on the smaller scale, it didn't feel as firm as I think it could be. More specifically, when I grasped the Rooter, the texture is squishy, too soft and slightly tacky (or sticky). This seemed to degrade my ability to feel the textures very well, when using the toy, and the slight sticky feel inhibited the in-and-out motion. It does have an distinct odor. However, I didn't find it to be overpowering or lingering as much as other Sil-A-Gel toys.
    • Light odor
    • Somewhat porous
    • Sticky

Design / Shape / Size

The Rooter was said to be able to "squirm" or move about, using the metal rod and handle that protrudes from its core. I could see some of this action when NOT inside of me. Yet, the overall Sil-A-Gel material was too weighty and the handle was too thin and difficult to get firm grasp. The shape is a basic "rod" type and the overall size was good. I would like to try to get the whole 10 inches. Given its smaller diameter of 1.75 inch, I feel that goal will be somewhat easier compared to my larger 15 by 2.5 inch diameter toy dildo.

Performance

The Rooter does not perform in the squirmy-way suggested. The metal rod engineered to do this, through manual motion (i.e. turning the rod) is a feeble companion to the bulkier cousin (i.e. the dildo wrapped around it). The metal rod is about as effective in turning this dildo as would be trying to use a toothpick to stir together a cake batter - something happens, but the result is not very good. The rod-to-dildo thickness ratio is not good. I could grasp it, but not effectively, and the combination of the dildo bulk and pressure of my body wrapped around it after insertion is just too much for the poor metal rod. It is good for basic in-and-out motion and the thickness and length is great for beginners or someone just looking for a basic dildo. However, since the squirming motion is basically ineffective in practice, if you want a basic dildo, there are better products.
    • Not enough variety
    • Not very discreet

Care and Maintenance

This product is easily cared for with mild soap and water or, better yet, your favorite water-based toy cleaner. It is a semi-porous Sil-A-Gel product; basically rubber. So, it is best to use a condom, especially if transferring the toy between any combination of vaginal, anal and oral stimulation. This is the safest way to play.

What about this toy makes it great for beginners? If it isn't all that great wouldn't it be better for someone who knows that there are better toys out there?

I would suggest theseVibrator Enhancers for use with non-flared anal toys.

Thanks for the comments. @AirenWolf: I put in the review: "It is good for basic in-and-out motion and the thickness and length is great for beginners or someone just looking for a basic dildo. However, since the squirming motion is basically ineffective in practice, if you want a basic dildo, there are better products."

So, yes, there are better products out there. Sorry for not making it more prominent or adding other links. I will try to do better in the future.
