Overall I find the Magnum to be a high quality dildo for people who have major problems with latex based toys. Additionally, the simplicity of the care instructions make this a toy that should stand the test of time, and in this case the quality justifies the cost.

Pros
hypoallergenic, odor and taste free, easily cleanable
Cons
no suction cup base, a mild pointy end some may find unpleasant.
After having received this toy, the best use we've found so far is in a harness. It can be held by your hands, but with a fairly small base you might want to avoid handling the toy with lubed up hands. While we have not tested using it hand held, I feel confident in recommending a full strap on harness. Or at the least using a harness to strap it to another object. This toy does not have a suction cup similar to its marbled brethren (this is not confirmed, only what I have heard from other reviews). The flange however IS large enough for anal use, so by all means go to town.
The quality of this dildo is SUPERB. This is the first 'expensive' silicone dildo that we have purchased and we were not disappointed. You can tell the quality of the silicone is top notch, and if everything that Fun Factory makes is of this quality, I can tell our wallet is about to take a beating. Having purchased all rubber/cheap 'silicone'/jelly toys in the past, I was mentally prepared to open the package and have my senses overwhelmed with rubber dildo smell. However, I was pleasantly surprised to open the packaging and smell absolutely nothing, and even taste absolutely nothing (omg I can finally give my wife a blow job without the back of my throat tingling from the latex/other chemical reactions in normal dildos).
The surface of the Magnum is extremely smooth and silky soft, and combined with lube it just slides around like nothing was there. There are no manufacturer stamps or other "trademark" stamps on the surface, the entire thing is smooth.
While the Magnum is smooth, it is also firm. There is some give in regards to compression but not much. The shaft itself is very flexible but when attempting to deep throat it didn't give as much bend as other toys we have.
In the past, we have always purchased the realistic style dildos and in that aspect the Magnum is halfway there. It has the average shape of a penis but lacks many of the identifying features (such as balls and veins). While I've never owned a silicone toy of this quality, I have noticed while shopping for them that they tend to have less detail in the actual topography of the toy. I have always assumed this to be because silicone is inadequate at emulating these fine details in the molding process.
In some of the written and video reviews they make a remark in regards to the sharp point the Magnum seems to come to. While there is a point, in my opinion and for our purposes, this point is a non-issue. It IS there, it COULD be annoying to some, but for us, it just wasn't that big of a deal.
The curve of the toy is nice and I felt it massaging the prostate on most short strokes. My wife did complain however that she didn't feel it reaching her g-spot in the positions we were playing with it in. We have had it for only a couple days so this may change with more use.
For anal play, I wouldn't recommend this for beginners, it is a bit girthy, however for those experienced with anal play this is probably a very good starting point or will satisfy most of the crowd. For size queens, you might want to look at another toy as this may be a bit too small for you.
In our uses so far the best plus to this toy is how smooth and hypoallergenic it is. Both of us are latex sensitive and end up only being able to play short amounts of times with latex based products before having to stop all together due to discomfort. If you find yourself in a similar situation, or are turned off by the taste and smell of lower quality toys, high quality silicone is the way to go.
The downsides-I was expecting a toy with a suction cup base. In the reviews (for the marbled style) they stated that it had a suction cup base and demonstrated the base. It is my fault for not looking at the pictures of the toy on the site, but I assumed the purple and black models would also take advantage of this design. They do not.
However they do work well in a harness! We used ours in both a cheap knock off fabric harness and our SpareParts Joque harness, both worked extremely well with the Magnum. Any harness you have with a proper o-ring should work just fine with it.
This toy, as stated above, is made from high quality silicone, which means it is EXTREMELY easy to care for. The instructions that came with the Magnum state that it may be washed with warm water and disinfecting soap. Many places will tell you that silicone can be fully disinfected by boiling it for 3 minutes or running it through the dishwasher on the top rack. I have not tested these theories but I have heard plenty of cases where this is true. Your mileage may vary, but at the very minimum a good wash with a mild antibacterial soap and warm water will do the trick.
We store all of our toys in an open air environment. Never store a sex toy in a sealed plastic bag unless you have something like a silica gel packet to absorb the moisture. Also you may wish to wrap the toy in a cheese cloth or something similar before putting it in the plastic bag.
The packaging would have been nice, if it hadn't have been crushed in the box. You could tell some care and thought was put into designing the packaging by Fun Factory, they didn't just throw it in a form fitted plastic shell and ship it off.
It shipped in an unmarked discreet brown box and inside was a colorful thin cardboard outer box that encased the Magnum. Inside this was another plastic shell that the Magnum actually rested in. It also came with a small sample of lube, a small instruction booklet and a product catalog for the rest of Fun Factory's toys. All in all, the simple but careful touches set it apart.
Of all the toys we have owned, I have to say this is easily our favorite. The combination of the smooth and odor/taste free silicone and simplicity of it really took us by surprise. This will not be our last silicone toy, and despite the expense I can say that I'd rather spend $50+ on a single silicone toy than $15-$20 every 6-8 months to replace our latex/jelly toys. While there are still many things that you can't get with silicone, this will definitely replace our run of the mill "go-to" dildos.
We used this toy in a variety of ways the first couple of days we had it. The first night we spent with it in the harness on me. Despite being a bit of a size queen I did really enjoy this toy, it's girth was pleasant and the smoothness allowed her to get pretty vigorous without any discomfort. We used a water based lube (Gun Oil H20) and had no problems at all. We did test it with two harnesses and only spent a very brief amount of time with it in our cheaper harness before switching to a different harness.
I have to stress how absolutely nice it is to finally own a toy with no taste or smell. The full experience is something my wife and I really enjoy and I had a hard time sucking our toys made of other materials. After a bit of time with them I got used to it, but I always would end up with a tingly throat at the end of it all. I did not have this issue at all with the Magnum.
The following day my wife used it on herself and said that it was pleasant but not much different than any of our other toys feel wise. She did however again remark on how nice it was to not have any sort of pain from the latex chemical reactions (this is something that has prevented us from using toys on her for a long time). She rated it higher among other toys based on this hypoallergenic nature alone. Again, we used the same lube as the first day.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it11 months after original review
This toy was my entry into the world of silicone, and it did not disappoint. While many of my other toys degraded over time and eventually were thrown away, the Magnum shows zero signs of wear or degradation. To add to that, I can stick this guy in a pot of boiling water to clean it up. We have become silicone toy users for life.
If I HAD to pick a complaint, though... it's the fact the toy itself attracts lint/dust/etc like a freaking magnet. That's easily taken care of with a quick rinse under the sink, though.

I'm so glad to hear that you made the jump to silicone toys! Sounds like you are a prime candidate for them. Also, silicone is able to take detail in the casting. Just take a look at some of the realistic dildos from Vixen Creations and you'll see what I mean! I'm not sure if it's a manufacturing choice, an attempt to keep costs down or a skill level issue that keeps companies from making more textured silicone dildos. Ooh while you're at it take a look at Whipspider Rubberworks' dildos. While they are far from realistic they are covered in amazing texture!
