When you start tearing open your latest sex toy purchase you certainly shouldn't be able to smell it before you have the brown box opened. I smelt this toy way before I even got to see it let alone touch it.

Doc Johnson's range of 'Softee Ballsy Super Cock' dildos come in an assortment of sizes, each with a differing colour. The blue one is 9" long, my Pink one is 8" and their smaller purple sibling is 6.24" long (note this is overall size not insertable length). They all have smaller girths than their larger siblings, making it a line of dildos that suit almost everyone's size preferences.

The Pink 8" version that I received arrived in a clear plastic shell style casing that fully displays the toy along as well as a cardboard insert with a shagadelic 70's style swirl pattern. The insert also tells you the important info pertaining to the toy.

It is a 'realistic' style dildo that comes with a partial pair of balls that also act as a base, as well as a pronounced head and a covering of bumpy raised lines to imitate veins. Its overall length is 8" with an insertable length of 7". The shaft has a circumference of 5" and doesn't flare out until it reaches the balls which provide it with a 5" long flat base.

Due to the base of this toy it is suitable for anal play as long as you keep these things in mind;
*It is a porous toy, so if you use it anally without covering it with a condom, you should use a condom for vaginal use.
*It is safe to go from vaginal to anal, but never anal to anywhere else.
*As it can't be sterilised, do not share with a partner unless you use a condom or are already fluid bonded with the partner.

It is made from body safe, Phthalate free PVC with anti-bacterial silagel which scores a 5 on Eden's material safety rating scale. It is compatible with both silicone and water based lubricants.

To quote Eden on Sil-a-gel:
"Though it is relatively safe, Sil-a-Gel has the tendency to attract dust and small debris, therefore we recommended that these toys be protected with condoms and cleaned before and after each use with warm water and mild soap."

I haven't found a problem with dust and debris even though there's a dog, and lots of her hair in my house. However I still chose to use a condom with this toy due to it's smell, it made me feel un-safe when using the toy. I normally at least lick a toy to check if it has a funky taste when reviewing, and as much as I love you all, I'm sorry but I don't want it near my mouth. (I didn't really want it other places either, but that's the price you pay for the privilege of being a reviewer!)

To clean it I've simply used warm water & a dis-infecting soap and left it to air dry. It doesn't come with any form of storage and it's packaging isn't really suitable for this purpose. You could simply put it in a zip lock bag to store it, this should prevent any possible interactions with other materials and help to stop other items from absorbing its smell.

Even through a condom the thick veins add to the pleasure of the large shaft. I could also really feel the head , although it isn't as pronounced as other toys I've used. I think this is due to its bigger size. I love texture but often don't feel it enough on toys with a smaller girth. The large base was also great to be able to keep a hold of it whilst thrusting.

I had been tempted to try the bigger blue version, but am more than happy with the size of my pink softee. It takes a little bit of warm up before use to be able to truly enjoy its girth, along with a ready supply of lube for longer sessions.

If it has been made from a more pleasant, safer material that didn't assault my sense of smell this dildo probably would've scored a much higher rating from me.

I have to echo Eden in regards to their recommendation for using a condom with this toy... and a pair of gloves and a peg. That is if the smell doesn't knock you out first! It isn't just that noxious rubbery smell, it's also got a strong sickly sweet stench with a few other unpleasant scents infused throughout. Other reviewers have described it as having a strong fruity, floral scent, but I'm afraid my nose interprets its scent as stench. To me it is a chemical, synthetic style smell which not only turns me off but gives me fears as to a products safety. Something which makes it hard to enjoy a toy during use.

Despite washing it numerous times and airing it outside the smell remains and not only on the toy... My hands stink, no matter how much I've scrubbed them they still reek for hours after using it. Actually the whole house stinks, so much so that everyone has fled for the day!

I love the soft velvet like texture of the toy, its bright colour and flexibility also impress me. The size queen inside me really enjoys how amazing its size feels- truly fulfilling. Its proportions are absolutely perfect for me.
My vagina is in love with this toy, it's just that my nose, along with my flatmates can't handle its noxious odour.

So far it's already earned a few nicknames such as 'the pink stink' and 'the neon pong'. If it weren't for this major issue it would've earned at least one more star, but as it is I've had to really fight to find what redeeming qualities I can.
I'm hoping that by the time I do my follow up review the smell will be long gone and I'll be able to report back on how much I love it. Fingers crossed!

This toy never really had a chance, after it got kicked out of the house and nicked named 'pink stink' it was all over for the super ballsy unfortunately. I like the shape and size of it but the smell that continued to linger even months later was too much to overcome.
