Simple but Effective!
Being high quality, a fair price, and silicone, the Vamp is a steal. Aside from the large head, which can be either troublesome or excellent, the only other quirk is that it is simply a dildo—no more, no less. If you want a simple, effective toy, I would highly recommend this to advanced anal players and anyone looking for a quality dildo.

Pros
Well-sized, not monstrous but not small, high-quality, feels great before you even start to use it.
Cons
The head may be too big for some.
Summary
The Vamp is a realistic silicone dildo by Tantus and it is made to resemble a vampire's cock, namely Twilight-themed vampires due to the sparkly effect it can give off. The Vamp does not have a suction cup, but it does have a flange. This makes it usable for vaginal, anal, and strap-on use. Throughout this review, keep in mind that I only use this for anal penetration. The Vamp measures in at 6 3/4" with 6 1/4" being insertable. The circumference is 5", but the head, which is exaggerated, is thicker.
Materials and Health
Since the Vamp is silicone, it is the safest material you can get for play. It can be boiled, bleached, or washed down with hot water and soap. Water-based lube is a must, as other kinds of lube (namely silicone) will destroy the Vamp. Heat and cold can be held by the dildo, making for some interesting experiences. The Vamp has no smell to it and feels smooth and firm. There's just enough give to it to bend slightly, but it is otherwise solid. I can personally say the amount of give is perfect—it keeps the Vamp from flopping around, but it isn't too rigid. The base will keep it upright if you want to ride it that way, just make sure you can take the large head first!
Use, Reaction, Recommendations
Being a realistic dildo with no bells or whistles, its use is self-explanatory. Due to the head's thickness, if you're looking to blow this dildo at all, you may have to choose another dildo as the head is remarkably thick for the overall size. That isn't to say you should dismiss the Vamp, but it's something to keep in mind. The thick head also makes anal penetration more difficult for beginners; however, once it is penetrating you, it feels amazing. I would personally recommend a beginner at anal play find something smaller to start with and work up to this dildo.
Outside of initial penetration, the Vamp feels quite marvelous. The heft it has tells you that you really have something serious in your hand. The thickness will also satisfy your hand or hole of choice, unless you aren't ready for it. If you are using this for anal play, I cannot stress enough how important a good amount of water-based lube is. I would definitely recommend this dildo to advanced anal users. Once you get used to the large head, the Vamp feels amazing, especially once it is in farther. If you hate Twilight (which apparently inspired this toy) but you want a quality dildo, get this dildo! Unless you absolutely must have your toy in color, don't let the platinum color or sparkles put you off.
Is it Worth the Money?
No matter what we buy, adult-themed or otherwise, that age-old question makes its way into our minds. In the case of the Vamp, yes, $45 (after shipping) for a quality toy is extraordinary considering it's made of silicone. The only reason this would not be worth your money is if the head is uncomfortable for use or if it is simply too large for your comfort. Otherwise, I can't think of a reason not to get the Vamp next opportunity you have.

Experience
My experience with this item is actually limited; I've only played with it for a short while. Before I ordered the Vamp, I was using a (don't laugh) plastic candy cane as an anal toy. The Vamp is shorter but considerably thicker, but with a bit of work, I hardly noticed the thickness difference in a bad way. The full feeling I got was perfect. I was neither bursting at the seams, nor was I feeling unsatisfied. Since water-based lube is a must, Astroglide Gel is perfect; I only had to reapply lube three times in an hour and ten minute span while playing under a ceiling fan.
Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
I still love it! In fact I love it even more because I'm used to it, even though it still feels big. My recommendation for this product is still strong and I encourage anyone wanting a dildo with girth (but not too much!) to get this one. For anal users in general I personally recommend a compatible condom!
