Rascal vs Rascal O2

The Rascal O2 will please those looking for a girthy, soft flexible dildo with just a hint of texture. The sensations it gives aren't as intense as with the regular Rascal but its still a good choice for those who want a little softness with their ridges.

Use

The Rascal O2 is a good choice for those who want a girthier dildo made from quality materials with just a touch of texture, a soft exterior and the capability for harness use and for a little vibration too.

Material / Texture

Rascal O2 is made from Tantus' premium silicone formulation with a soft O2 exterior and a firmer silicone core. The white head is quite soft, much softer than the white head of the O2 Revolution. It looks like there's more O2 material on the head of the Rascal O2. Once you move from the head down the shaft, it quickly becomes more firm, but still has a layer of softer, squishy O2 material on the outside.

It has no scent. It would be safe to use even for those who don't like texture. Its soft ribs provide just a subtle amount of extra stimulation.

Design / Shape / Size

The Rascal O2 is six inches in circumference, a little larger than what is reported on this site. A firmer dildo with a six in circumference can sometimes be a challenge for me to accommodate, but with its soft outer material, the Rascal O2 didn't feel too large for me.

It has a short length, perfect for those who aren't deep. No need to worry about this one bumping against your cervix.

The base is the right size to be easy to hold and manipulate. There is a hole in the bottom of the base to hold the bullet (included with the toy) if you want a bit of vibration to enhance your experience. I found that the hole for the bullet made a convenient place for a finger during use.

What does this toy look like to me? Dare I say it? A grub. It just does. Probably the nicest looking grub I've ever seen. Thankfully the resemblance isn't so strong that I had any hesitation about using it.

Performance

When the Rascal O2 first arrived I was so excited to try it. I whipped it out of its packaging and used it right away. Later I felt incredibly irritated inside for several days. I tweeted about this and Tantus replied that nothing unsafe is on the exterior of their toys but that its best to wash them before using for the first time. Since then, using it hasn't irritated me.

So I can't tell you whether it was manufacturing residue of some kind or my excessive enthusiasm that caused the problem. I will never use a toy without washing it first again.

In comparison with the regular Rascal, the Rascal O2 is bigger so it will feel more filling for sure, but you won't feel the texture nearly as much. The extra size doesn't compensate for the wonderfulness of those ribs on regular Rascal. I almost don't feel them. The ridges on regular Rascal are firm, like the entire toy. You will definitely feel them, but in a good way. They're not too intense, even for myself, a person who only sometimes likes texture.

The Rascal O2 is also far more flexible than the Rascal. Its quite a bendable toy, even though its short.

So while you would think that the Rascal O2 would be just like regular Rascal only better, it isn't. Its an entirely different experience. A good experience, but not up there with the regular Rascal, a toy that is one of my favorites.

The vibrating bullet only provides a small amount of extra sensation. I didn't use it extensively. I'm not a fan of combining vibration with thrusting.

Care and Maintenance

Rascal O2 is a premium silicone toy, so caring for it is easy. Simply wash with soap and water, dry and store it.

Right now I keep in in the bathroom cupboard, along with regular Rascal. But eventually I plan to store it in a box with other toys. Ever since I learned that Tantus stores their toys all together in bins with nothing separating them, I've felt inclined to store mine in the same manner.

Use only water based lubes with this toy to avoid damaging it.

Personal comments

Rascal O2 comes with the bullet fully inserted. It was inserted with lube, but even so, removing the bullet required pliers. Have them ready when you order this toy.

Your "grub" comment stuck with me so much -- it was so perfect -- that I had to come BACK to this review and make a comment. I love your comparisons of sex toys to various unrelated things. They're always totally spot-on!
