The Wonder Vibe 4 is a great toy for the price. The worst part is the smell, but that can be over come since it doesn't dissipate. The size is moderate and won't work for those who like larger than average toys. It does allow for the toy to be used for double penetration though. Overall, it's a solid toy for the beginner or those who don't need a huge size or a lot of power.

Velvety, Not sticky, Easy to use, Textured, Versatile
The Wonder Vibe 4 is one of those vibes that I lusted after when I first came on the site and there were no Eden Points, and I had a very small sex toy budget. Four years into using toys, this toy was far gone off of my wish-list as I quickly graduated to more expensive and higher end toys. After a friend of mine reviewed it a few months ago, I got curious and got it with my next order. I already knew about the bad smell and other cons to this toy, so I knew what to expect in that regard.
I found this toy to be a bit too small for me. This was a surprise to me since small size doesn't usually matter that much. I don't strive to use huge toys. That doesn't say that this toy can't get me off, it just takes a while and I am left wanting more when I am using it. I still recommend this toy despite a foul odor. The design is solid, the curve is nice, and the quiet vibrations travel well. It is good for those who like smaller, textured toys. I didn't find that this vibe hit my g-spot, but if I inserted it all the way, the vibration could travel to my clit. It's smaller size makes it good for double penetration with a partner too. I really think there is a user out there that would find this toy nearly perfect, it just isn't me.
The packaging says that this vibrator is made of TPR. TPR is semi porous, so a condom should be used for anal or if sharing with someone else. It cannot be sterilized. This particular TPR is firmer and more smelly than others I have encountered. It's a rubber composite that resembles a softer plastic blend. It registers as a 7 on Eden's safety scale, but due to the smell, I am skeptical about this claim. The material is latex free, phthalates free, and hypo-allergenic. It is fairly flexible and has some give, but is much firmer than most rubbers (like those in Doc Johnson toys). The surface is very nice and not at all sticky. It doesn't collect lint or hair either. It has a lovely velvet texture to it. The surface feels very silky and does not require lubricant. The con to this material is that it literally smells like skunk and will make you smell a little like it too. The smell doesn't dissipate off the toy, and does decrease with washing and time. Just don't get your nose close to it and wash your hands after use.
The end cap is made of a shiny purple plastic. I don't really like the color purple, but I am fond of the deep tones this toy has. It's sort of a "hot deep purple".
I'm not into realistic phallic toys, but this one really caught my eye. It has all the things I love about a real cock's look and then some that make it not so realistic. Shaped like an erect cock, it has some realistic texture and then ribbing for even more sensation. It's like a super cock! The tip has a realistically pronounced head. The upside of the shaft has a small curve while the underside has a more drastic curve, however, still slight. The shaft has a varicose vein on the underside, The deep ribbing on the top side does not go all the way around the back. What's sort of odd, but adds some realism is the fact that the texture is not symmetrical even when it isn't realistic. The ribbing is heavier on the right than the left and the head tilts to the right a bit.
The entire length of the vibrator is 7" long. The insertable length is debatable. This is because the vibrator's circumference increases drastically towards the end. Around the head the circumference is 3 5/8" around. The shaft increases a bit to be about 3 3/4" around. then the thickness drastically increases within less than an inch to be 5" around. At the end of this section is a strange texture. Flames? HAHA! This super dick is on fire too. These might serve a purpose if the toy is rotated while inside, but I think they are more for decoration than anything else. Then the toy dips in to create a deep ridge right before it bulbs out and ends with the controls. This deep ridge and drastic increase in circumference make this toy safe for anal use. Just stop when there is that resistance from the increase in thickness. The bulb is also a bit larger at 5 1/4". You'll want to stop before this though. The end has the controls. It's a simple domed dial with ridges for easier turning. There are no buttons.
I did notice that where the TPR meets the plastic, there is a bit of visible glue. When I tried to see if the connection was weak and if I could separate the materials, I didn't succeed. I just chalk this up to sloppy work. It appears that the toy is in deed waterproof. It did pass my shower test, but was not submerged.
Being that this is a purple phallic shaped toy, it isn't discreet. the smaller size is good for travel though, especially since the material isn't sticky.
To use the toy, unscrew the and cap and place two AAA batteries inside. There are stickers on the inside to show how the batteries should be inserted. I hate when toys have no instruction and they leave you to guess. There is a sticker on the outside of the toy that says to close the cap tightly. This sticker can be removed.
The dial should be variable, but it really only has three speeds. Turning the dial slowly it will start out on a very low vibration level. VERY slowly the vibration level increases for almost the entire turn. That is until you get to the very end where the vibration suddenly jumps to a medium high level (compared to other toys of similar design and price). The lower levels are great for teasing. Then when you are ready, you can crank it to the most powerful setting.
The vibrations are buzzy, but deep. They don't hurt or rattle. The vibrations can also be felt throughout the entire toy. They are strongest in the first third, but do travel all the way down the length. The dial has the perfect resistance to it. It isn't too easy to turn, but hard enough that you can really control where the level is.
The sound level is incredibly low! It's usually tough to find a toy of this price that has such a low level of noise. Even on the highest level, OUTSIDE the body, my partner could not hear this across the room. It's an excellent choice for people who have roommates or just get annoyed easily but distractions.
TPR is really easy to care for. Since it isn't a dust magnet, it doesn't take as much time to clean as other materials. However, due to the textures of this toy, extra care needs to be taken when cleaning the crevices. A simple hand over hand wash with warm water and soap won't do. You'll need to use a soft bristled brush or wash cloth to get all the gunk out. This toy cannot be boiled.
While this toy doesn't require lube, it can be used with water or silicone lubricants. Only a little is needed. When storing, let it dry and place back in the package or in a cool dry place away from other toys of the same or similar materials. They could melt together.
The packaging is simple and effective, but not impressive. This toy comes in a clear clam shell case not much larger than the toy itself. There is a cardboard insert that surrounds the toy. it has a little bit of information on it like the material composition and safety, the features, and the company website. It works well for storage since it doesn't take up a lot of room but is not discreet since you can see the toy inside.
My first impression was that the material was as smelly as I thought it would be, but firmer in density. The velvety smooth exterior was very nice since it didn't require lubrication. Inserting this toy vaginally didn't wow me at all. I really think that the curve and size go so well with my anatomy that it doesn't "stimulate" areas that are unlike my natural interior. I'm hoping that makes sense! It fits perfectly, a bit too perfectly. I did really enjoy the vibrations once inserted though. Since I can insert this fully, I can put the larger base of the toy against my outer labia which the vibrations transferred well to. They go all the way to my clit. Clitorally, this toy is great. I was even able to finish using this toy over a pair of thin pajama pants. I really like teasing this way, but can't find many vibrators that can do it properly.
I really like this toy anally too. You have to find a slim condom for it though. Larger ones will slide off. Most Durex condoms will do just fine. Anally it is small enough that I can use another toy or my partner for double penetration at the same time. I wish the vibrations were stronger in this area, but it proved to be a versatile toy.
It was easy to clean as long as I used a wash rag and dried quickly for storage.
Follow-up commentaryI don't like it anymore2 months after original review
I ended up tossing this one after only three uses. I can still see it being great for someone else, but it's simply not girthy enough for me, and I don't say that often. The smell did go down, but not much. However, seeing that I only used it three times, that's not a whole lot of washing and the smell might go down with more.
