I am always looking to try a new glass toy with a different type of texture. The Blue Swirl was on my wish list for a while, but I guess it just wasn't exciting enough for me when I was adding things to my cart in the past. I was correct in my assumptions about how exciting this one is not. It can be used vaginally, anally (due to the base), and also externally for additional stimulation. The main issue to be cautious of is thrusting too hard, the head of this one could hit your cervix and that would not feel good at all. I have only hit my cervix hard with a toy once and I will never forget it!

This dildo is made of glass, so it is safe for all users considering it has no allergy-causing components. Be sure to check for cracks in your glass toy before each use, just in case. It can break if dropped hard, but it will break into chunks instead of shattering into 100 pieces. It is compatible with any lubricant of your choice, so you can use your favorite. Glass is easily cleaned with soap and water or toy cleaner. It can be sterilized with a 10% bleach solution or by putting it in the top rack of the dishwasher with no soap. In regards to this particular dildo, it is important to make sure you clean in between the swirls well because fluids can get trapped in there (even after it seems like you have cleaned it well). I suggest using a toothbrush or something similar to get everything out of the grooves.
Besides being a very safe and easy to clean material, glass is also good for temperature play. Leaving it some cold or warm water makes for a fun time!

The Blue Swirl gets its name from the blue swirled pattern that makes up the entire shaft. The only smooth spots are the head and the base. This texture requires a bit of lube so that you don't get too much friction when you are thrusting. You can feel the texture, but it is not overly extreme. In my opinion it feels closer to the Twisted Pleasure than I was expecting. I am a texture lover when it comes to glass, and other materials as well, and this one left me bored. I could feel it, but it just wasn't doing as much for me as I had hoped. With that being said, this might be a good texture for a beginner to try or those who enjoy a moderate amount of texture.

In regards to the size, the Blue Swirl is about average. It stands at about 7 inches tall, with almost all of it (except for the base) being insertable. The shaft is completely straight, so this one doesn't target the g-spot as easily as other toys do. The head has a diameter a little under 1 1/2 inches and the shaft is closer to 1 1/4 inches in diameter. You don't really get the pop upon insertion, but you can feel the difference between the shaft and the head. The diameter of the shaft makes the texture less intense, which for me was a disappointment, but might be a positive for others. The base is not that big across, but it should not be a problem for most when using it anally. I would just not suggest sitting all the way down on it for longer periods of time.

The Blue Swirl comes packaged similarly to the other SSA Glass dildos: a thin, velvet bag which holds the bubble-wrapped toy. Although the bags are thin, they keep my toys safe enough when they are in my drawer or in a box together.

So, as I mentioned I was not exactly thrilled with this toy. It is still a nice glass dildo and I know many other reviews will probably appreciate it more than I do. I guess I am getting picky, considering how many glass toys I own. I was able to enjoy the head of this one, because it slid in easily and rubbed on my g-spot a bit, but I bought this for the texture. And the texture was slightly underwhelming. Whenever I use it I tend to give up on trying to orgasm with it because it takes much longer to get me really stimulated than my other toys do.

I haven't used this one for anal play because I had a couple of other toys that I was trying this out with. However I do assume that the texture will feel more pronounced in that area and I will give it a try a few times before writing my follow-up review.
