Mr. Softee is a classic gentleman who will win you over in a jiffy. I'm not huge on dildos, but I was impressed with the feel of this one. The material is a bit scary because it "bleeds", but if you use condoms and thoroughly wash it, you should have no problems.

Pros
Lovely feel, Soft, $, Full feel while being comfortable, Fairly realistic
Cons
Made my cum pink, Strong smell, Can be unruly when wet
If I were to compile a collection of classic sex toys, this one would have to be in it. The Mr. Softee is the classic dong from Doc Johnson, but will a new softer density. When I got this I had gone on a quest to find cheap gems among toys that I wouldn't normally think would work well for me. This dildo is one of the cheapest I have seen, so I never expected it to be a favorite. It feels amazing, and surprisingly fairly realistic too. If it weren't for the unsafe material, this dildo would be getting five stars. It has an excellent thickness, well rounded and shaped head, wonderful veined texture, and perfect amount of flex for comfort. This dildo cannot be used in a harness and since it doesn't have a flared base, isn't the best choice for anal. It does have a bit of a scent to it, so you may want to use condoms especially considering the odd experience I had using this the first time. It turned my cum pink. No joke.
Mr. Softee is made of Sil-A-Gel (the product page says rubber, but I believe this is outdated). It is a non-toxic formula that is anti-bacterial, latex and cadmium free. The material is porous, so a condom should be used when sharing and isn't a bad idea for vaginal use anyways. It is soft to the touch, but firm to grip with a solid core. It bends and flexes nicely, but isn't floppy by any means. It is still able to be thrusted well. The surface has a silky almost slimy feeling to it and feels like it transfers something to the finger tips after it is handled. It has a decent large amount of drag and picks up dust bunnies easily. It is a really good idea to wash Mr. Softee before and after use.
This dong comes in two colors: pink and mauve. I got the pink. It is much brighter than it appears in the picture on the product page. That looks like a Pepto-Bismol pink, this is not. It also has very subtle but pretty shimmer flecks in it.
I am pleased to report that this dong doesn't have the usual DJ chemical smell that burns your eyes. It is fruity, but without the chemical smell. It's strong, but not as bad as others I have tried from Doc Johnson. I didn't get a headache for once. The smell does transfer to the package, hands, and anything else it touches, another reason to use a condom.
As far as texture goes, it does not have pore like realism, but it does have exaggerated veins on the top side and a smooth underside. The veins are pronounced enough to be felt during penetration. They feel wonderful!
Mr. Softee is about 7 3/4" long from the tip of the head the the flatness of the base. The entire length of the toy can be inserted if you'd like (vaginally I mean!). There is no taper or flared base to stop you. This also means that Mr. Softee has been castrated and has no balls. Some might miss this, but I didn't. The thickness of Mr. S is pretty uniform for the whole dildo. The unique long head is about 5" around in the center and a little over 5 1/4" at the thickest part, right at the base of the head. The rest of the dildo is about 5 1/8 - 5 1/4" in circumference depending on the vein texture. This dildo is pretty hefty, weighing just under a pound. What's interesting about this toy is that it thickens as it is thrusted in. As the toy has pressure applied to the head, the body gets shorter displacing the mass outward in the form of thickness.
The head is nicely pronounced, but still blends into the toy well. It shouldn't bother your pelvic bone at all. The head is round, but the body is slightly oval. This is caused by the veracious vein that is present on the bottom combined with the texture on the top. The underside has no veined textured and is smooth instead.
The base is somewhat flat with a slight dimple in the center. It does not create suction. If you are looking for one that does, there are similar versions of this dildo from Doc Johnson that do. those might also be compatible in a harness and safe for anal play when this dildo is not.
Mr. Softee is not discreet in any way. It's a bright pink penis, it's large and hefty. I would not attempt to travel with it.
I lubed this Softee up with a drop or two on myself and a drop on him. I first tried to use just spit, but that wasn't happening. The head of the Softee resisted entering me and then with one swoop slid in. I felt the tiniest bit of discomfort for a fraction of a second, and then it was smooth sailing from there even if I removed the toy to place it back in. I love that this dildo makes me feel full, but not stretched. Stretched is never an arousing feeling for me. I'd like to think my insides are still winning when I place a larger sized toy inside of me. Thought of things getting displaced just gives me the shivers.
Thrusting this toy is not as hard to do as I thought it would be. I just had to make sure my hands were free of lubricant. Since there is no handle, keeping your hands dry is really important. Since it flexes, it is easy to turn the end of the toy up a bit so you can thrust it solo. It is fine for being thrust by a partner too. Just don't expect to be able to be double teamed. The Mr. Softee is too big for my partner to DP me with. It might work for some, but for us, it was either he was in or Mr. Softee was. It will probably work for someone who is more experienced in stretching.
When I use this toy solo, I use it for about 15 minutes at a time. I have never gotten tired of thrusting, but have found that when I do let go of the toy, it stays in unless I use my kegel muscles. I cannot yet cum from this toy alone, but I can build myself up with a clitoral vibrator at the same time and sort of alternate sensations in order to finish with the dildo alone at the end. I did experience some g-spot stimulation, but not enough to finish that way either.
I really enjoy using this toy in combination with something for my clit. The veins feels fantastic!
Okay, so here in the pink cum story. I wash my toys when I first get them. This one in particular sat for at least 6 months before I used it. I neglected to wash it after the initial cleaning before I used it the first time. Apparently, the material "bleeds" color. I should have known better, especially since there is pink residue "goo" on the inside of the plastic packaging. So, when I finished using the toy, the juices from me that were left on the toy were pink! The opaque white now had a pink tint...not cool. So, moral of the story is rinse this a lot before you use it and/or use a condom! An XL sized condom is my recommendation. Smaller condoms can reduce the veins. When cleaning this toy, use soap and water. It does retain smells, so a non fragrance soap is best unless you are trying to cover up the berry smell. Always put it away after you use it. It collects a lot of lint and can melt to things it touches.
The packaging is the same as most DJ products. It comes in a plastic, snap to close case that is much longer than it needs to be. I had to cut off the top of mine to make more room for it in my toy chest. The package has a little information about the material, warranty, and company. It works well for storage and keeps this toy away from others that could melt it.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it2 months after original review
I still have Mr. Softee and continue to use him when I want a full feeling in conjunction with clitoral pleasure. The material is still holding up, but I protect him with a condom on most occasions. The smell has gone down but only slightly. But at this price, he is easily replaced when the time comes.
