Mixed Feelings
Silicone is one of the best, if not THE best material for dildos, generally healthier and easier to clean than most other materials.
If you can handle, or enjoy, exaggerated texture this toy may be for you. If you are new to the sex toy world or do not care for over stimulation you may want to try something different.

Pros
silicone, hypo-allergenic, phthalate free, easy sanitization, great size
Cons
overwhelming texture, too rigid
I was looking forward to buying the Doc Johnson Platinum Silicone Super 6" for quite a while. My first non-vibrating dildo was a Doc Johnson Jelly and it just didn't do it for me. I wanted something that would be better for my body; material content and size. So I finally gave in, and purchased it.
Doc Johnson's Platinum silicone is hypo-allergenic, phthalate-free, and easily sanitized (can be placed on the top rack of a dishwasher or boiled for 5-10 minutes): a major selling point for me. This is my first silicone toy and I am somewhat disappointed in the hardness and the inflexibility of the material. I was also disappointed in the texture, which was overwhelming, and at times painful. Ribs of "veins" protrude on one side and on the other is one long ridged protrusion. This is the biggest downside for me, and may, eventually, be a deal breaker.
The main reason I purchased this particular toy is for the size. It was difficult to find a quality material, specifically silicone, in the size that I need. I am 5'4" and have a short pelvis. This toy measures 6" total with an insertable length of about 5", just about right for me. I paired it with my water-based lube and spent some time exploring my new toy. The texture was so overwhelming I had to distract myself with a small vibrator to get the job done. The Doc Johnson Platinum Silicone Super was pleasurable, but not as much as I had hoped, or even fantasized.
So, overall, I have mixed feelings. The shape and texture of the toy could be much improved. The material and size is great. We will see if it can win me over completely in time, until then I will just have to experiment with it some more.
