Love the Flow
I'm a fan of quality toys - regardless of cost. The Alumina line is reasonably priced for the quality of the product - but mostly for the quality of the experience. We love the Flow and think you will as well.

Pros
The Flow is very erotic visually & functionally. Recommend for people who like metal and glass toys
Cons
Absolutely none!
Our experience with Pure Wand steel toys and the great reputation of Tantus (maker of the Alumina line) made the Flow a good choice when we went looking for something new and different.
A lot of other reviewers have compared the Flow to their other metal toys like the Pure Wand - from our perspective the Flow is quite good - but not as highly ranked as the Pure Wand.
Tantus makes great quality toys. The aircraft grade aluminum is superb and the weighting of the toy is perfect. The finish doesn't seem like paint - it seems more like a permanent oxidative finish that will not flake or peal like paint would.
Although it's made of two pieces that separate for interchangeability and we also have the black Alumina Pace - there doesn't seem to be combination of the Flow and Pace that makes sense. However, I could see if you also owned the Motion or Revolve - interchangeability would be possible.
But all of the technology aside - the Flow is a very versatile and effective toy. The small end makes a great handle, but is not at all effective for vaginal penetration.
The large end of the Flow is a comfortable 1.5" diameter. Because it's so well tapered and smooth, my wife generally doesn't need an artificial lube.
Like the Pure Wand the Flow is a g-spot toy with the stimulation coming from pressure as opposed to texture (although smooth is a texture - i mean bumps or ridges).
As a metal toy - temperature play is always an option. We don't usually use any artificial cooling - room temperature is already 30-40 degrees cooler than skin temperature. However in the summer a little cool water does add to the shock-value of cold metal.
When your done using the Flow you'll notice that it's warm to the touch for obvious reasons.
Last comment we have used the small end for anal penetration and that feels nice - I'm trying to get up the courage to try the larger end - maybe more on that in the follow up review!

Experience
98% of what we do with the Flow is for penetrative stimulation. It's great when I'm doing oral on the wife because it doesn't need lubrication - so I can enjoy her naturally sweet nectar.
Secondarily, I'll continue to stroke her with the Flow while she uses her favorite clitoral vibrator. We have not succeeded in using the Flow to bring on an orgasm or squirting - this is why we give it 4 stars - but we're still trying!

Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
The Alumina Flow continues to find it's way into the action in our bedroom on a regular basis. It's so smooth that we can use it for vaginal penetration while having oral sex without needing any nasty tasting lube. The small end also makes for comfortable and enjoyable anal penetration.
The Flow is a niche product with a great niche in our repertoire.
