Kind’a Cute, Completely Incredible
A great affordable, high-quality silicone, multi-purpose dildo. It’s a good shape for G-spot or P-spot stimulation. The size is great for warming up and for intermediate anal play, and a good size for the main course for those desiring a more realistic size. Most likely will not satisfy the size kings and queens as anything but a warm-up, but a wonderful dildo in its own right.

Pros
great shape, very safe, versatile, price.
Cons
no hole for a bullet or suction cup, some may find it small.
As far as dildos go, the Tantus Acute is on the smaller side. This dildo, (which when mounted in a harness does indeed form an acute angle to the vertical) is comparable in size to the average penis, but the pronounced head makes it seem larger than it is. I’m not a size queen, so the dimensions were reassuringly smaller than the specimen I get intimate with.
The Acute is very smooth from stem to stern, as it were. There are no seams or sharp edges to worry about. The base is a little less rounded where it was trimmed after demolding, but I only noticed because I went looking for flaws. The head is the listed 1 1/4” wide, while the shaft is about 1 1/8” wide; the base is 2 3/8" long and 1 15/16" at its widest. The gently rippled oval shaft is fairly consistent in diameter until about an inch from the base, where it dips inward, then flares back out to the base. There’s not enough of a neck to hold it in if used anally, but there’s definitely enough base to keep it from getting lost. The base is sturdy, yet bendable enough not to hurt hands and to easily put into a harness. Unfortunately, the base is not substantial enough to allow the dildo to stand up on its own. I tried for a good 15 minutes, to much hilarity. It almost stands up, but after a few moments it begins to tip, then falls drunkenly on its nose. So, if you have a hankering for a dildo that stands at attention, I suggest putting it in a harness, then strapping said harness to a stool or pillow.
Tantus' Acute is made of very high-quality silicone, and it shows. The texture is very different from that of other materials, and even from that of lower grades of silicone. It is very smooth, and firm yet yielding. It does pick up lint a bit, but nowhere near as bad as jelly; in fact, it acts almost more like static cling. There was a very, very faint smell to the dildo before the first washing, but it was so faint it could have just been the bag it was shipped in.
Being a good little scientist, I promptly licked it. Mm, mm, tasteless! Because of its average size and lack of taste, this dildo is a good choice for practicing blowjobs (if you can convince your other orifices to give it back long enough for you to try).
Over the course of the weeks since I acquired this dildo, I have tried it out with a variety of lubricants and cleaning methods. Water-based lubes were first, and easiest to deal with: easy on, easy off. My Sliquid lube was perfect for vaginal use, and the Acute is smooth enough that in large quantities, water-based lubricant was slick enough for anal play for both the goose and the gander. If it was used anally for any length of time, the lube needed to be re-activated or re-applied, but this wasn’t much of an issue. For hybrid lubes, I spot tested the base with Liquid Silk, and there were no bonding issues. I wasn’t able to do a use-test with that lube, though, given my sensitivity to some of the ingredients. For silicone lubes, I was only willing to use Eros Bodyglide, which the Tantus website recommends as a safe pairing. The initial spot test caused no problems, but after a live test drive it was a bit harder to clean off than the water-based lubricant. It didn’t bond to the Acute, but it was a bit more of a hassle to clean.
Speaking of cleaning, except for with silicone lube, the Acute was very easy to clean, both because of its material and the lack of textures. Wiping with a bleach solution or boiling it worked well for sterilization. Using a toy cleaner or ol’fashioned soap and water was equally easy, but does not sterilize it. The one method that turned out iffy was toy-cleaning wipes: the Acute never felt completely clean, because they seemed to leave a film on the toy.
I do have a small quibble with the Acute: unlike some Tantus toys, it lacks a hole for a bullet in the base. The bullet hole would be a welcome addition to an already well-designed dildo, because not only does the silicone transmit vibrations decently, but Tantus makes a very useful accessory for their toys: a removable suction cup that you can attach by way of the bullet hole.
My one big gripe about this toy: why on earth didn’t the Acute come find me, beat me over the head, and ravish me before now?!

Experience
Vaginally, I absolutely adore the Acute. The ripples down the shaft aren’t very noticeable, but the angling and shape and stiffness are a perfect fit for my body, especially when going after that G-spot. I still can’t climax without clitoral stimulation, but I do (pardon the expression) come much closer when using the Acute.
From the perspective of a couple who are relatively new to anal explorations, the Acute was both a blessing and a curse. That bulbous head is MUCH more pronounced anally, but the ripples on the shaft are more noticeable, and pleasurably so.
For me, it took a lot of patience and a gallon of lube to convince my ass that I wasn’t trying to offer it a live, enraged porcupine. Then suddenly, pop! The head was inside. Tantus Acute was far more comfortable once inside because of the narrower shaft. The shaft is a great size for someone just graduating from the newbie stage, and the head feels wonderful in deep, if you can get it there; we found it easier to remove than to insert as well. We did have a slight issue with double penetration when I was lying on my back: if I didn’t keep a hand back there, it became a dangerous projectile. He has a bruised thigh to prove it.
After a good bleach-bath, it was his turn, and his experience on the receiving end of the Acute was slightly different from mine. Though he is newer to anal play, he found it much easier to insert, after which I took control. The curve, so perfect for my G-spot, was just right to hit his prostate. To use his words: “That’s the first time I’ve ever cum against my will,” though I have a sneaking suspicion he wasn’t TOO unwilling.
As was mentioned before, I wish the Acute had been designed with the hole for a bullet or the removable suction cup. I lust after that functionality... so I’ve eyed my beloved, cowering Acute, dremel tool in hand... except that unless they redesign the base slightly, a hole would significantly weaken the structure there.

In the months I've had my lovely Acute, I've only come to love it more. My size preference in dildos has slowly gotten larger, but I still keep coming back to the Acute. It knows exactly where my G-spot is, without any effort on my part to find it. It's a very comfortable dildo to use, both vaginally and anally.
Though it is on the shorter end of the spectrum, it performs very well for pegging. Though the base is thin and a bit floppy, we've never had problems with it slipping out when we didn't want it to. While maneuvering is a bit of a challenge with a shorter dildo while pegging, he swears by this one, because each thrust ends at the prostate instead of blowing past it. And the curve? He threatened to steal my precious Acute from me! Even if it is sparkly and pink.
Since falling in love with my Acute, I've recommended it to many of my friends, and I continue to do so. It's a great dildo, even if it's simple, and isn't long or incredibly girthy.

Great review! You said exactly what I was looking to hear...that even though you have a preference for larger toys, you still enjoy this one! Size is definitely a concern I have about purchasing this one...

@kermi - This definitely isn't a large toy, but the shape makes up for it!

Looks interesting. I like smaller toys, anyway.
