Not sure where to start with anal? The Small Silk is all you need to get the ball rolling. This is a wonderful dildo for anyone, whether male or female. Want to try your hand at pegging? The Small Silk is also a great introductory dildo that can be comfortable for both partners. I'm really impressed at how well this toy worked for me and in my harness. I can't wait to upgrade to the larger sizes.

Pros
Silicone, plushy, slim size for beginners, comfortable, harness compatible, flexible.
Cons
Has to be held in manually if inserted less than half way.
Ever been curious about anal play, but too intimidated to try? Not sure where to start? Meet the Small Silk by Tantus. This wonderful silicone dildo is phenomenal for beginners. The small size and plushy material allows even first-timers to start exploring the wonderful world on anal. Not only will this small dildo help you to get used to things being inserted into the anus, but it can also help you train your muscles and relax them. If you tense up while this dildo is inserted, it's not going to hurt. It's also great for training yourself for anal depth and exploring deeper insertion in a safe way. Unlike most butt plugs, this dildo can be thrusted so you can explore more dynamic movement. When stationary, it provides an introductory level of fullness. It's a really great place to start for anyone wanting to dip their toes into the world of anal.
The flared base makes this toy amazing for harness use. The base is large enough to be compatible with most harnesses with an O-ring. If you're looking to explore pegging, you need this dildo. The dildo works just as well for men as it does for women. While it can be used vaginally, it's size and flexibility may not provide enough stimulation. However, it makes a great double-penetration dildo when used anally.
In my opinion, silicone is one of the best materials out there for any type of toy. It can vary in terms of rigidness, and be very firm, or soft, plushy, and flexible. Silicone can be fully sterilized and isn't porous, which makes it the safest flexible material on the market. It's very durable, and holds up to use much better than lower-grade materials.
The dildo is very flexible, and a bit squishy, but it's so soft that it makes insertion difficult. The material has a slight grab to it, but it's not sticky. It has no smell or taste. The texture is incredibly smooth and makes it glide effortlessly without an abundance of lube. The straight, smooth shape is especially wonderful for beginners. This toy can be easily inserted and removed because of the lack of bulges like other anal toys out there.
I really like this dildo a whole lot. Overall, it's not very intimidating from a visual or design perspective. The fact that it's not realistic is wonderful for those who may be uncomfortable with anal play with realistic-looking toys. The flared base is big enough to work with pretty much any harness out there. The height of the base makes for excellent padding when used in a harness. It's not going to smash on your pubic bone like harder materials can. In fact, this can be used with the simple ring and strap harnesses without any additional padding behind the ring because it's just that comfortable.
The shaft of the toy is a little under 4" in length with a diameter of a little less than an inch. It's comparable to a man's thumb. The base is about 2" across and 1/4" thick. The rounded end makes the toy great for easy insertion without being too pointy. The overall size is a plus for those who are intimidated by anal play. It's small enough to work for just about anyone, but large enough to still provide stimulation. It's a great stepping stone up to larger toys. Tantus makes this toy in a medium and large size, as well. It's an amazing way to work yourself up!
It's not the most discreet toy out there, but it's a little less suspicious than realistic toys, butt plugs, or anal beads. Nothing about this absolutely screams "anal".
To get this toy ready to go, you'll want to grab yourself some nice water-based lube. It's a good idea to give this toy a good rinse before you get to doing your thing, because the material loves lint and dust. After rinsing, make sure you dry it really well. I've found that this toy also loves water, and it takes a little bit to get it dry. Apply a moderate amount of lube to the toy. With the smooth, non-porous material, you may not have to use as much as you normally would for more porous materials. With some lube, this toy gets really slick. To insert the toy, make sure you have a grip on the shaft. The material is really flexible, so for initial insertion, it does need to be directed a little so it doesn't get all bendy on you. It's not something that will stay where you put it unless you have it over halfway inserted. You may have to hold it in with a hand to keep it from slipping. The flat base makes this a great toy to squat over. You can use a dildo vaginally without it being uncomfortable. I've found that harder material dildos were comfortable with this, as well as softer materials.
It works wonderfully in harnesses. It fits snugly against most materials without slipping and sliding around. It worked incredibly well with the patent leather on my Pleasure Principle Deluxe harness. The base gripped onto the material incredibly well for a nice and secure fit. The base is thick enough that it doesn't slip through the O-ring if the dildo is tugged on.
Silicone is an amazing material and very easy to care for. Be sure to wash this dildo before each use to remove any of the lint or dust it may have picked up. It's quite a lint magnet, but everything washes away very easily. You can clean it with soap and water. I prefer using an antibacterial spray toy cleaner. Make sure to dry it with a lint-free cloth so you don't end up linting it back up. After use, storing this in a clear plastic bag will keep it from getting fuzzy between uses.
It's compatible with water-based lubes. You're not going to want to use silicone lube with this because it will damage the material and leave it permanently tacky. Due to the nature of the material, you don't need a massive amount of lube to enjoy effortless glide.
Silicone is my favorite material for squishy toys because it can be sterilized by boiling. Doing so allows the toy to be shared with others without worrying about bacteria.
When I was washing this, I sat it on the side of my sink when it was wet and it actually ended up stuck to the counter pretty well like it was a suction cup! I tried pulling it straight up, but it was on there pretty good, considering I had just set it down. Even though it'd not a true suction cup dildo, this will stick to flat, smooth surfaces with a little water. Another little neat perk of this toy.
I'm really, really, really glad I got this toy. I originally got it to go along with my first harness so I could get into some pegging action. I didn't want something that was going to be too big or intimidating to my lover. Honestly, though, I'm glad I got this because of how wonderful it is for me. I have some experience with anal play, but it's been quite a while since then and I needed to warm up to the idea again and work myself up to being able to do other things.
Nothing I have ever used has ever been as comfortable or easy as this dildo. I'm not a total beginner, but I consider my skill level to be back down to that because I've been out of the game so long. I was expecting things to go a lot less smoothly, or for the dildo to be slightly uncomfortable. This thing slipped in with no fuss! I was shocked at how amazing this worked for me and now I'm a lot more excited and not intimidated by anal play. It's made me a lot more comfortable with it.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it27 days after original review
I love this, my partner loves this, and we love the fact that we can share it! We've been using it as a warm-up for bigger toys and it's still excellent. I plan to purchase the Medium and Large versions of this one because I'm so in love with them. I've used it in and out of a harness and it never disappoints me.

Awsome review like always! I have this one in pink! I love it.
That Man from Mars
Very interesting. Not my style, but it sounds great for beginners. What O-ring sizes would you say it would fit? Looks like it'd be best for smaller ones.
Elaira
It should fit ones less than 2". 1 3/4" is probably the biggest you could go with that one. My harness has a 1 1/4" one.
