I think I have a new favorite dildo.

In a matter of weeks, the Tantus Compact has become my absolute favorite dildo to date. Though it's small, it's versatile and well-made, putting it a cut above the rest.

Pros
Pure silicone, ridges feel great during penetration, easy to clean.
Cons
May not be firm enough for adequate prostate/g-spot stimulation, on the small side.

extremely useful review
Love, thy name is ‘Tantus Compact’. You are small but mighty; you are a champion among silicone toys and the ruler of all petite penises! Oh, my darling dildo, you shall never leave my side, let alone my toy box!

The Tantus Compact is made from pure silicone, a non-porous, phthalates-free material. The silicone is supple and flexible; you can bend the toy back and forth in to an arc with a little pressure, but it's not floppy at all and it stands up on its own. The material also has a "firm" feeling to it if you squeeze it, as if it had a firm core and a softer outside layer. The Compact has a slight clay-like scent, but it's not offensive or pungent, and it's completely tasteless. Silicone DOES tend to attract a lot of hair and lint, however, so keep this toy wrapped up in a plastic bag or lint-free container when not in use.

In terms of size, the Tantus Compact is a relatively small toy. At 3" in circumference, and 5" long (4" insertable), it is comparable to the Tantus Silk. The Compact, however, is a little longer and features a variety of textures that make it feel a bit bigger during insertion: the tip of the toy is molded in to a slightly realistic head, and there are 3 raised ridges underneath the head of the toy. There are no hard/painful angles, or deep creases in the toy; everything is molded seamlessly in to the body of the dildo.

The ridges and the realistic head on this dildo are pronounced enough that they can be felt around the entrance of your vagina, and you can feel them on your vaginal walls as you thrust or when your muscles tighten around the toy during orgasm. Plus the texture adds a bit of girth to the dildo, making it feel a little more pronounced than the smooth Small Silk. My g-spot is relatively close to my vaginal entrance, so I was able to stimulate it with the Compact, and the smooth silicone felt amazing as I rubbed it back and forth over my g-spot! However this toy was not quite firm enough to bring me to orgasm via my g-spot. So if you need a firmer toy to reach climax, this may not be the dildo for you.

You can also use the Tantus Compact on your vulva to stimulate your clitoris. It's a little boring to rub the toy on your clitoris when it's wet. It just glides smoothly back and forth and feels like you're just rubbing lubricant in to your vulva, even with the texture. But if you use the toy when it's dry, the silicone material will ‘grab’ on to your clitoris and tug on it. Hence, the Tantus Compact is a good choice for people who enjoy penetration as well as manual clitoral stimulation.

The Tantus Compact is also a great anal toy, thanks to its small size and flexible material. I could definitely feel the ridges rubbing up and down on the inside of my ass after I inserted the toy. The base is flared enough that you can insert the toy without losing it, it's also a thinner and slightly smaller base than the average Tantus dildo's base. So I would not recommend leaving it in, unmanned, for an extended period of time. I don't have a prostate but, considering the fact that the Tantus Compact wasn't firm enough to fully stimulate my g-spot, I'm relatively sure the same would hold true for prostate stimulation.

The Tantus compact is also harness compatible, thanks to its flat flared base. However the base on the Compact is a little smaller and thinner than the base on most Tantus toys, so you'll need a tight fit to make it stay snug in a harness. I have yanked and pulled at my Compact for several weeks now and experienced no tears around the base, despite its unusual thinness.

Thanks to the smooth, flowing nature of the Compact's ridges, it is a surprisingly easy toy to clean. You can rub this toy down with soap and water or some toy cleaner. You can also sanitize the toy by wiping it with a 10% bleach solution, boiling it, or (my personal favorite) running it through your dishwasher (top rack, no soap).

While this review is dreadfully boring, the Tantus Compact is anything but. Yes, it's on the thinner side (use the "actual size" button on the toy's main page to see what I mean), but the stimulation the ridges provide is incredible, and the texture adds girth to the toy. It’s easy to clean, great for vaginal and anal warm-ups, harness compatible, reasonably priced, and created by Tantus... what more could you ask for?
Experience
I actually bought the Tantus Compact to help me stretch my rigid hymen. While the measurements on EdenFantasys claimed the toy was about the same size as the Tantus Small Silk (a gift from MissKissThis), I knew that the ridges and shaped head would add thickness to the toy. I always insert the Small Silk at the beginning of my masturbation sessions, then move up to the Compact when I'm properly warmed-up. I was initially ambivalent about the way the ridges felt. I don't gain a lot of pleasure from penetration thanks to my painful hymen, but when I orgasmed with the toy inside me... ooooh, there's the money! The ridges feel AMAZING when your muscles clench around them!

I also used this toy anally. I'm absolute pants at anal penetration, I admit it, and the Tantus Compact is the biggest dildo I can slip in to my bum comfortably. Honestly though, I think even an anal expert would love the Compact. The ridges feel excellent in my anus, and the toy slides in and out painlessly.

And for those of you who hate realistic toys: while the Compact DOES have a "slightly realistic head", it's mostly just because of the shape. Void of veins, balls, and flesh-colored material, the Compact manages to be plain without being "just plain boring".

One of the more annoying things about pure silicone is its uncomfortably close relationship with my waist-length hair. Any time I lean over the toy to fetch some lube, I always end up getting a little stuck to the dildo via a few strands of wayward hair. I have to meticulously pluck them off the toy and dust it back off. To the Compact's credit, my el-stuck-o hair doesn't nick the toy the way it does cheaper materials; the silicone remains as solid as ever.

If you're like me and your hymen gives you trouble, forcing you to warm up before inserting larger toys, the Compact is a great choice to ease your vagina open. It is also a good choice for an anal warm-up, provided you take heed of the less-than-stellar base.

Do not let this dildo touch other silicone products! Pure silicone may react to other silicone toys and silicone lubricants, deforming your lovely Tantus Compact.

If you want to use this toy anally and vaginally in the same play session, I recommend using a condom during anal play, then removing or changing the condom when you switch to vaginal play. Bacteria from the anus can cause vaginal infections, so keep your toy clean!

I have uploaded a couple of pictures that visually compare the Tantus Compact to the Tantus Small Silk at my blog.
