Dawn is relatively gentle but can harm some types of toy finishes as well as irritating sensitive genitals, I use the same soapless cleanser on my toys that I use on my lady parts just to avoid irritation. It is worth noting, though that some types of materials can't be safely cleaned even with that method as they are simply too porous. it's just better to use a condom over them all the time especially if you are prone to yeast infections or BV.
