This gorgeous dildo by Vixen Creations is one of my favorite toys. It's big without being overwhelming, easy to use and never fails to hit my g-spot. The only downside is the material is a little tacky to the touch and picks up cat hair. Fortunately, both are remedied with a quick rinse and a splash of lube.
Raquel has a big round base that's harness compatible, anal safe, and is an ergonomic handle. However, there are no markings that tell you which way he's facing so if you need to see where the G-spot bump is, you have to completely remove the toy. I love using this toy in the shower because he definitely needs a lubricant. The silicone is matte and drags on your skin, so he's fairly impossible to insert without lubricant of some kind (natural or water-based lubes only please).
There is a hard center core running up the length of the dildo until about an inch from the top. This core helps stabilize the toy, and makes it feel more realistic. This toy is made of an incredibly squishable, plush material that just makes you want to squeeze it all over. Seriously, I squeezed it non-stop for about five minutes, trying to wrap my mind around the realistic feel.
The only thing that bothers me about this material is the somewhat sticky feel. It's not really sticky like gum, because there's no residue to wash off and it leaves nothing on your hands. It reminds me of how skin feels right after a hard workout when the sweat is just starting to get oily/sticky. Hard to describe, but easy to remedy. Just add a drop of lube or water and this toy becomes smooth, slick, and ready for action.
This material picks up hair and lint easily so I always need to wash before use. The white base is made of a harder silicone so it's not flexible and doesn't pick up hair.
The soft silicone makes it easy to leave fingernail/teeth marks, but most of these are easily rubbed out with a thumb. I can't break the surface of the silicone either, but I have left on deep indention when trying to figure out how durable it was.
I absolutely love the shape of this dildo. I believe anyone would be able to use this toy, even most beginners, despite the big head. The average shaft on this toy works well to give that "full" feeling, but is not overwhelming.
The Raquel features a rather large bump on the head designed to hit the G-spot. And boy, does it ever. The bump just rubs constantly against it, whether you're thrusting or just grinding against it. And it feels really, really, REALLY good. However, because the material is so soft and squishy, it may not be enough stimulation for some. There was not enough stimulation to make me squirt; but then, I've only ever done that twice(using the Gigi). So even though it's really good at getting me near an orgasm, it has never gotten me completely there; even after 30 minutes of thrusting. But it's an enjoyable ride and this is the toy I reach for whenever I need a long tease.
The soft silicone at the tip of the head is unlikely to bruise your cervix, unless you're really pounding hard. I would not call this a discreet toy because it's rather big, but it is not realistic at all. If someone saw this big pink thing peeking out of your nightstand drawer, they may just think it's a kid's toy; but if they saw it laying on your bed, they would know its purpose.
This toy does exactly what it was designed to do: stimulate the g-spot. And I love that, I just wish it were a little tougher so it could finish what it starts. The VixSkin is so incredible; I want everyone to feel it because it may be the next big thing. It is definitely worth the somewhat big price tag.
The VixSkin is made of 100% pure silicone, so it doesn't have taste or smell, and can be completely sterilized by bleaching/boiling. Vixen Creations claims that their silicone toys are so pure that you can use a silicone lube. I haven't tried it because I don't want to risk damage to this amazing dildo. If you want to try it, do only a small patch test first. If it has any reactions, wash off with soap and water pronto! But the best way to avoid any problems is to use a water based lubricant.
The stickiness of the material picks up lint and hair easily, so it's best to store in its original package. I actually slip a satin bag over the pink part, so it protects from lint but it is kinda hard to get on and off sometimes.
The Raquel comes in a clear hard tube with black top and bottom caps, with the Vixen Creations logo on the front and a description on the back. I know many people store their Raquel in this tube but it's too big to be practical for me. Also, the top is a pain to get back on because it makes such a tight seal, the air can't escape which mean you can't press it down. You can fix this by slightly pressing in one side of the tube (which isn't easy because it's a tough, hard plastic)
My boyfriend thought it was too flexible at first, but he quickly learned how to manipulate it on me. Neither of us is interested in anal play, so I'm unsure how this feels on the p-spot. Although if you like that "full" feeling, I can assure you this toy would get you there. Just be sure it won't be too big!
This was my first silicone dildo, and I'm ecstatic with it. I've recommended this to a few (very close) friends, because the shape and material are unbeatable.
Silicone
Follow-up commentaryI still like it3 months after original review
This is still one amazing dildo, but honestly, I use Mark more frequently these days. Raquel I use when I'm craving a little more size or g-spot action. She's still gorgeous to look at though, and I'm definitely not regretting getting her.
Also, one thing I forgot in the review; if you lay her on her side too much, her silicone could flatten because it is so soft. Always store her standing upright on her base, in the plastic tube she came in, if possible.
