Great way to try glass
In all, I suspect most people would find the slightly larger size & the lower price of the Reflections Amber vs the Icicles No.8 to be a great way to try glass dildos and it certainly makes a beautiful gift!

Having already bought Icicles #8 and loving the art glass look & smooth feel, I wasn't sure about trying the Reflections Amber by Doc Johnson. I was new to glass and had been looking for a dildo without any drag & that wouldn't cause me any chemical irritation, my two biggest problems with toys. Despite what I thought was a high price at the time, I bought the #8 and was so surprised to find how comfortable it is not to mention the art glass beauty of the colored helix through the center & the iridescent glow.
All I was missing was a bit more girth, but I was concerned that even slightly bigger would feel much larger due to the rigidness of the material. Well, with an increase of only 1/4" each in insertable length & diameter, plus the beautiful pictures & the lower price, I decided to take the plunge. Who knew just that little increase in girth would make such a big difference? Even though I'm new to penetration, I don't always need lube because of the beautiful slip of the glass, but when I do use it, only a drop is needed. I favor heating it up with warm water and using a bullet or other vibe pressed against the base which really transmits the vibes well, if a bit loudly.
Cleanup couldn't be easier or faster with soap & water or a wipe and there's none of the scrubbing to remove residue/germs as with some more "sticky" materials. I haven't felt the need, but boiling or a run through the dishwasher on the top rack are options. I like to leave both my glass wands out to enjoy as objects d'art, but if storing, it's nice not to worry about contact with other surfaces damaging them, plus they're very sturdy.

I have since tried more glass dildos & find that this one is the best overall for recommending to those new to glass. I use it regularly & find it to be one supremely comfortable dildo. But, I would still caution users to be careful about bruising yourself. I initially thought, "Oh please, I won't hurt myself; I would surely feel if it was going to bruise me!"
Well, smarty pants, who thought she knew better, ended up awakening with discomfort the next morning. I felt no inkling of anything amiss during or after use. However, the next day & for 3-4 days after that, I was too sore to masturbate. It was a soreness that felt like moderate period cramping, or a strained muscle, if that helps. It progressively got better & I have never had it happen again. But, since I did not go to the doctor, I cannot say what the exact injury was, nor the cause; common sense tells me what happened. I hope that info helps some people & I am always happy to answer questions!

Why didn't I notice this review before? I've been wondering about the comparison between these two glass toys, because think they're both so pretty but I wasn't sure I need two that are so similar. I didn't realize there was so much size difference between them. I might buy both of them after all. Thanks Wicked Wahine! -
You're welcome! The Icicles #8 was the 1st glass I ever tried & once I became more used to penetration, I wanted just a little bit more girth. When I saw this on sale after discovering Eden, I got it. I have since seen people say they wished the #8 was bigger & most are happy with the Reflections' size. I guess the rigidity makes just that little increase seem exponentially larger. But nothing like seeing them side by side to drive home the difference. -
Well, I just ordered the Avalon as my first glass toy, since it was on the BOGO Mother's Day special on Thursday! But these will remain on my list. -
You might like this, with it's 1 1/4" diam, after trying the 1" diam Avalon.
