Form v. Function
If you own other glass toys or can achieve a g-spot orgasm easily, you may want to overlook this product.
Published:
Pros
Retains heat, compatible with any lube
Cons
Severe surface flaws, not exaggerated enough for proper g-spot stimulation
Many glass toys are very feminine with their use of flowers and color. Although these toys are undoubtedly beautiful, this dildo provides a sleek alternative to a more typical glass toy. The Reflections Allure is smooth and attractive but is not without flaws.
While this toy photographs beautifully, mine arrived with numerous shallow scratches that destroy the visual appeal of a glass toy. Doc Johnson does not describe if the reflective appearance of this product is a feature of e-glass or painted on. This lack of description leads me to question the composition of e-glass (also referred to as cyberglass) and how it differs from other glass products. Eden Fantasy describes e-glass as "an inorganic non-metallic solid material that does not have a crystalline structure and is usually transparent or translucent." Like pyrex or tempered glass, this toy retains temperature well, is non-porous, and compatible with any lubricant.
This toy retains the properties of glass and- with the exception of the scratches- imitates the appearance of steel. Depending on what you require in a toy, the differences between looking like steel and having the properties of steel may be positive or negative. I was personally disappointed when I first held this product in my hand. I appreciate the heaviness and indestructible attitude steel toys portray and was hoping e-glass would be heavier than pyrex or tempered glass and was chosen for this product specifically. Sadly, this toy is no heavier than any other glass toy. This was a huge disappointment for me, however, if you have wrist or arm problems and weighty toys cause discomfort, this may be an appealing alternative.
After recovering from my disappointment in the scratches and lack of weight, I knew that if function could conquer form, I would forgive the aesthetics and write a shining review. Sadly, I could not do this. Each use of this product falls short of fantastic. I own five different glass toys along with a small army of dildos but this toy never makes it to the top of my drawer. It is marketed as a g-spot dildo but the rounded side of this product does not curve enough for me to put sufficient pressure on my g-spot to orgasm. In addition, it is painful to thrust or apply pressure using the pointed tip. Each time I use this product, I feel myself getting close then completely falling away when this product fails to deliver. As a last ditch effort, I cut the cord off and tried the tapered end. In many ways, this end resembled the Ella. It was smooth and nonintrusive but, just like the other side, was lacking.
Overall, this toy lacks any defining features to set it apart from other glass products on the market. For a person just beginning with glass toys interested in a non-feminine appearance, this may be an easy starting point. To readers who own other glass toys, this product may not be a good investment.

Thank you for the comments. I love the Doc Johnson company and this is their only toy I haven't liked. It's not fun writing bad reviews for good companies.
