The curve on Don Wands' Bent Graduate glass dildo is perfect for G-spotting. The toy is slick and beautiful, but the pointed head is definitely not for all users!
Don Wands' Bent Graduate is a glass dildo curved dramatically for G-spot play. At the end of the smooth, curved side is a pointed bulb. The other has a small bloop/ledge and three bulbs, and the last is pointed like the opposite end. The curved end was designed with G-spotting in mind, though both ends can be used vaginally. Because there is no flared base, this toy should only be used by those very experienced with anal play, if at all.
Because many others have written about the various aspects of glass, I'll just briefly list the basics:
~Use hot or cold water for temperature play
~Do not microwave or freeze
~Gentle thrusting to avoid cervical injury
~Always check for chips, cracks, scratches before use
~Non-porous, waterproof, phthalate free, hypo-allergenic
If you're completely unfamiliar with glass, there are plenty of resources here on Eden that would do a better job detailing everything than I could.
The Bent Graduate is very smooth and slick with absolutely no taste or smell. It is not at all realistic looking, but it does have a "sex toy" look to it. It is not discreet. While there is no actual texture on the dildo's surface, the bulbed end does provide bumpy texture for those who wish to use that side.
Pyrex (Borosilicate) glass is a very firm, rigid, and inflexible material. Care should obviously be taken when using, especially by beginners. It is also very safe, non-porous, and very easy to clean and care for. Thus, it receives a 10 on Eden's material safety scale.
The shape of the Bent Graduate is what everyone is raving about. With about a 75% to 80% curve, this toy was designed to make sure it hits the spot! There has been some debate of the actual length of this toy. The product page states that it is 6 3/4", but if you were to take out the curve and straighten it, it would be 8". Here are the rest of the measurements (the first taking the curve out of the equation):
Length: 6 3/4"
Insertable length: 4"
Circumference-
-of top bulb: 4"
-of curved shaft: 3"
-of bottom bulbs: 4 1/2"
Diameter-
-of top bulb: 1"
-of curved shaft: 3/4"
-of first three bulbs on opposite end: 1 1/4"
-of last pointed head: 1"
As I said above, this dildo is not realistic looking. However, it does look like a sex toy. It would be suitable for travel if it was sufficiently padded/protected.
The curve of this toy is meant to hit the G-spot with ease, and that it does! It really isn't a hands-free type of toy because the weight of the glass will cause it to rotate, leaving the curve pointing down instead of up. This toy is also not harness compatible, and I don't see how a suction cup would be useful with this toy at all. Also, if you want a girthy toy or a "full" feeling, this toy does not provide that.
Glass obviously does not require batteries as there are no mechanical parts whatsoever in or on this toy. Thus, it is very waterproof and safe to use in the bath or shower. The Bent Graduate is easy to use and makes absolutely no sound at all.
Caring for the Bent Graduate is extremely simple. Because it is glass, any type of lube can safely be used with it. Though honestly, because of its slick surface, very little (if any) is required. Cleaning the toy is easy: soap and water, toy cleaner, bleach solution, any and all will work. Glass is also dishwasher safe and can be briefly boiled to sanitize. Please, do not use a rough cleaning tool (such as a scrubbing sponge) so as not to damage, scratch, or scuff the glass.
My Bent Graduate sadly did not come with a padded pouch, so for now, I have been keeping it in its packaging. The toy is easy to store if kept in the box, stuffed in a padded pouch or a sock even, and placed somewhere safe.
After reading a review for the blue Bent Graduate, I decided to go with the pink because I was hoping that it still came in the old packaging. Alas, it appears that the packaging for the pink dildo has changed! Instead of a clear, clam shell type package with padded storage pouch, my Bent Graduate came in a black cardboard box with a plastic tray with an overlapping lid inside.
The dildo can be seen through a cutout on the front of the box. On one side of the box is a picture of the toy. On the front and opposite side is "glass indulgence- pink bent g dream" along with Don Wands' name/logo. On the back is a brief preview of the toy's features and some basic info about glass. There is also three listed methods for cleaning the toy (soap & water, toy cleaner, or dishwasher).
Inside the box is a clear, plastic tray that the Bent Graduate sits in. There is a flap that curves over from the back/top that snaps into place on the front to protect the toy/keep it in place. The edges of this plastic tray are very sharp, so be careful! I currently have a large and painful slice across my finger (like a deep paper cut) from the last time I repackaged this toy. Because of this, I would definitely suggest tossing the package and getting yourself a nice padded bag to store this in. The box is also not very discreet, but it would be suitable for gift giving.
This was my very first glass toy, and I was expecting to love it as much as everyone else seems to. From its first use, it has brought me nothing but pain. Literally. I was very gentle during play, but my insides hated the pointy head. Every time I tried to use this, I was gentler than the last. However, it still hurt, and my G-spot seemed to shrink away from it. It's a shame though, because this toy is beautiful, slick, and wonderfully made and designed. The curve is to die for, but that pointy head is definitely not for me!
I also tried to use the other side, but to no avail. I haven't really used any textured toys, and though the other side isn't overly textured, it does have several bulbs. After inserting the straight end, I didn't need to take it out immediately because it did feel interesting. After slowly thrusting it in and out, it was too much. My sensitive insides definitely didn't enjoy the sensations.
I'm really sad that this toy didn't do it for me because I really wanted it to. This may be the perfect dildo for others who like the textured end and can handle the point, but for me it was a painful disappointment. At least I can say that I now know that I don't care for textured toys or pointy heads.
Follow-up commentaryI still don't like it6 days after original review
I've tried using this toy several times, and I still feel like I'm being ripped up inside. While the curve on this is fantastic, the pointy head is not. Also, after using the opposite blooped end, I've realized that I don't really like textures either. This may be the perfect toy for others, but I'm looking elsewhere. So I do count this as a lesson learned. In the future, I'll know that rounded, texture-free toys are better for my naughty bits.
It may be lovely and boast a to-die-for curve, but I've found my Bent Graduate a new home.
