Decorative, unique style, bright colored swirl for texture--yep, its an Icicle!! The No. 4 model has an optional bullet vibrator that does add some noise but also is a pleasant addition to the glass piece. This is very pretty, feminine and has a G-spot hook for more versatility. This is a smaller piece, great for beginners to glass dildos--this was my second glass toy--and I am so glad I chose this one as one of my starters...
Pipedream's No. 4 Glass toy has a few added features to make your play time a bit more fun! Cool it off in the fridge or warm it up with hot water-the choice is yours! Just do not expose this to immediate, extreme temperature changes, you do not want to damage the glass.
This glass dildo can also be a fun vibrator with the addition of the included bullet. With a partner or solo, these vibrations can add a little bit to your sensual play. Tease each other by running it up and down your most sensitive areas, twisting it over your skin, or by gentle thrusting either vaginally or anally.
For solo use, this makes a nice G-spot or P-spot dildo, the vibrations do not have the strength to really vibrate the tip. The bullet does light up, making this a fun item for those who are cam models!! The smaller diameter and light swirled texture makes this a fun toy for beginners to intermediate users alike. Personally, I feel that advanced users might not be able to enjoy the No. 4 as much as one with a bit more shape and texturing.
This would make a wonderful gift for her at an adult party, bachelorette party or other fun event where a toy would not be an embarrassment to the recipient.
The bullet and controller are plastic and they can be used with or without the glass G-spot toy. Plastic rates an 8 on the safety scale. This is a hard, smooth plastic that is designed to fit the glass handle perfectly.
The Glass is Pyrex and rates a 10 on the safety scale. It is non-porous and can be sanitized with a 10% bleach solution, rubbing alcohol, toy cleaners, washing in the dishwasher or boiling. Pyrex is a trademark for a precisely treated borosilicate glass; it has been treated to chunk when it breaks and not shatter. Check your glass toys prior to use. There should not be any cracks, deep scratches or sharp edges anywhere on the glass piece. If there is, you must retire it to either the garbage or use it as a decorative piece.
Glass is a great conductor of temperature. Add it to a bowl of ice water or hot water for a wonderful foray into temperature play. I know that after my husband and I have been playing for a few hours, the coolness of the glass against my over stimulated areas feels amazingly soothing and sexy. (I told my husband it felt like a bit of an ice pack for soothing my bits and pieces--it renews my personal areas and makes me able to play longer!)
The spiral wrap around the glass adds a definitive texture to the dildo part. When you add the vibrations, it is very prevalent even though the circumference is smaller. There is a small G-spot curve for targeting the area. I did not personally find it effective for targeting my G-spot, it was too pointy and small.
There is a slight plastic odor to the bullet, but the glass has no smell or taste. The odor on the bullet went away after washing.
No. 4 is a smaller glass dildo that has the option of added vibrations. There is an included bullet that fits in the round area of the handle. The fit is snug and secure, so you can be assured it will not fall out during use.
The glass is 7" long, with 6" of it insertable. The diameter of the shaft is 1/2", but the 1/8" pink swirl adds to that making it a total of 1 1/4". The G-spot curve is 1" long and comes to a smaller rounded point. The bullet is 1" long and is 1/2" diameter. The controller fits nicely in your hand.
The pink texture is very prevalent and is felt very well during penetration. The small size makes it non-irritating, but stimulating. There are a couple of ways to get the stimulating feeling from the pink wrap. You can twist the No.4 while thrusting, thrust and use is as a corkscrew, twisting in and out. The small hook at the top does not interfere with the sensations as you twist the glass.
I found the G-spot hook was too small too be very effective. I hit the spot internally, but not enough to climax. The point is rounded, but harsh due to the unforgiving material. Caution needs to be taken when thrusting--the glass will bruise and hurt if you get too rambunctious with the motions.
I am leery of using my glass pieces for travel, but if protected properly this would be a good size for traveling. I would store it in the original box and wrap it as if it was a present. You could also store it in a foam lined pouch or other padded container. You could always say it is an upside down icicle for decorating a Christmas tree.
Remove the back plate over the battery access. Add 3 AAA batteries and replace the battery access door. You are ready for vibrations. To turn it on, push the top button. This also changes the vibration patterns. To go back through the patterns and also to turn it off, press the bottom button.
Vibration settings:
1.Low steady - 2.Medium steady - 3.High steady - 4.Pulsing - 5.A long pulse to three short pulses - 6.Escalating low to high - 7.Two short pulses to long pulse - 8.Long pulses - 9.High pulsing - 10.Fast pulse.
The vibrations do travel throughout the glass, but get pretty faint at the tip. My hands went numb from holding the handle where the bullet is inserted. I did notice that with a longer bullet, I could insert the No. 4 and let the bullet rest along my clitoris. I will have to look into that option!!
The noise level is pretty intense. I could not get over the sound and could only use it for 5 minutes at a time. The vibrator is tight, but for some reason, it transferred the noise to the glass. I will have to look into a fix for that as well.
The Icicle No. 4 is fairly easy to clean. Wash it thoroughly in warm, soapy water. Use a soft cloth to swirl up and down the pink swirl, making sure to pay attention to the edges where it attaches to the shaft. Residue can get caught in this area and harbor bacteria. When you have it clean, rinse thoroughly and dry it with a soft cloth.
I do go back over this with a sanitizing toy cleaner. You can also soak it for 15 minutes in a 10% bleach solution, industrial glass sanitizer, rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. I like the peroxide sometimes, since it allows me to see areas I might have missed when it bubbles up. You can also sanitize this by boiling for 15 minutes, place the glass in the water and gradually heat to prevent breakage.
You can use water, silicone or oil based lubes with this dildo. I always use water based for easier clean up. Especially with the texturing. Otherwise, I would enjoy the sleekness of silicone lube, especially in the tub or shower.
Store this in the well padded original box, a padded toy pouch or other soft, padded container to prevent cracking and breakage. Do not drop this on a hard surface, it will break. Check for cracks, chips and breakage if it is accidentally dropped before using it again. The glass is compatible with all toy materials, however I do suggest keeping it away from softer materials that may 'melt' around the glass.
The vibrations are a bit light and buzzy, but the speed does compensate. Be careful not to let yourself get numb, however, this is a problem with the lighter teaser bullets.
I keep thinking of using No. 4 as a fan pull when I look at it. It is so pretty, and once I get something stuck in my head it is hard to forget the thought.
This would look pretty on a Christmas tree as a decoration if you choose not to use it as a dildo.
I would not suggest using this as a napkin ring, even though it could work as one.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it5 months after original review
The noise level is very distracting for me to use and completely enjoy. I am also not enjoying the G-spot targeting tip as much as I do other, softer materials. This tip is a bit pointy and the material unforgiving. There are a couple other of the glass items that have worked out much better as a G-spot stimulator for my anatomy and preferences.
This is a great beginner introduction to glass and G-spotting, I am glad this was the one I chose. The smaller size, vibrations and prettiness did distract me from my fears of using glass toys.
After doing some research I realized my fears were unnecessary, but nevertheless, they were very real until I understood a bit more about the safety features.
