Beautiful but Intense
I'm happy that I purchased the Rainbow Nubby Wand by SSA Glass, but I don't get as much use out of it as my other glass toys. The nubs are not my texture of choice but I'm glad that I experimented with it. I still get use out of the wand, just not for its intended purpose. My partner loves when I roll the wand down his back as a massaging tool. Rainbow Nubby is inexpensive and gorgeous. I'd recommend this toy to others.

Pros
inexpensive, beautiful, texture, non porous, can be disinfected, great tool for massaging.
Cons
the texture is intense which won't be appreciated by everyone.
The Rainbow Nubby Wand by SSA Glass arrived in a red drawstring storage pouch with bubble wrap wrapped around the glass toy. In the stock photo, it shows the wand with a purple storage bag but that is not what you actually get. The red storage pouch that the toy comes with is rather thin and not padded. You’ll want to invest in a better storage pouch or keep the bubble wrap that the toy is wrapped in when it arrives.
The wand is made of Pyrex glass. The difference between Pyrex glass and regular glass is that Pyrex is less dense. This means that if the dildo were to ever break, it would not shatter into many pieces/slivers. Instead, the glass would break into larger chunks. I have quite a few Pyrex glass toys and have not had any of them break (even after a few drops). I know this can be a concern for those who are new to glass but as long as you’re careful with the toys, you shouldn’t have any problems.
The Rainbow Nubby Wand is approximately 7 ¾ inches in length with a 3 ¾ inch circumference. The dildo is straight with no curve to it. The dildo can be inserted from either side of the toy, as each end has the same texture and circumference. I would not recommend this toy for anal play because the toy does not have a flared base to it.
Being glass, the dildo has absolutely no flexibility to it. The dildo should not be used for hard thrusting to avoid bruising or hurting your self/partner. Glass is compatible with all lubricants; water, silicone, or oil based. The material does not absorb the lubricants so only a small amount is needed.
One of my favourite things about glass is that it can be used for temperature play! Placing the glass toy into a warm or cold bowl of water before play can really heighten the experience. Many people enjoy the warm feeling of glass but I prefer it when it’s colder. The cool sensation is amazing!
What really drew me to this glass piece are the rainbow colours. It’s beautiful! The toy has little nubs all over it in the colours red, green, yellow, and blue. These nubs are raised and are approximately 1/8 of an inch in height. Though the nubs have a small height, they can absolutely be felt internally. You can see the height of the nubs in the photo below.
The nubbed texture is not something I’d recommend to beginners. The circumference of the toy is suitable for all toy users but the nubs are better suited for those who already know they like textured pieces. With the nubs being glass and having no give to them, it’s very different than a nubbed toy made of silicone, etc. I’d recommend the Gold Laced G to someone who is new to glass insertables.
Personally, I love the look of the Rainbow Nubby Wand but it’s the least used glass toy that I own. After experimenting with different textures, I’ve come to realize that I prefer ridges and ripples to the nubs. I don’t find the texture to be painful or anything; it’s just not the texture that satisfies me the most. I’ve gotten more use out of this toy by using it as a back massager on my partner. I roll the wand down his back and he really enjoys it! The toy is also very artsy looking. If I were to leave it out, the chances of someone knowing what it was is unlikely. Below is a comparison photo that I had used for my Gold Laced G review. The Rainbow Nubby Wand is the glass piece in the centre.
Cleaning the toy is quick and easy. The nubs to the toy are only slightly raised so cleaning them is no hassle (especially comparing it to cleaning ribs on toys, etc). The toy can be fully submerged in water (so it can be used in both the shower or bath) and cleaned with soap, toy spray, or toy wipes. The toy can also be wiped down with a bleach/water solution, rubbing alcohol, or boiled to sanitize the toy.
Overall, I think this is a great toy. I don’t get much use out of it internally, but my partner loves when I use it externally on him for massaging purposes. I’d recommend this wand to those who know they like the nubby texture, or those who have already experimented with glass texture and want to take it to the next level. At least if you’re not a fan of the texture, you’ve got yourself a lovely massage tool.

The Rainbow Nubby Wand is great for those who like A LOT of texture. I don't mind a few nubs on my glass pieces but this is just too much for me. I still like using the wand as a massager though.
