Back to basics
In conclusion: the Silk is about as average a dildo as you'll find, and it does the basics perfectly. Pretty much anyone can use it anywhere with little preparation or upkeep. If that's what you're after, then this is the dildo for you.

The Tantus Silk Large is a solid general-purpose dildo. It's got a nice set of features that are satisfying but not outrageous. It's just over 7" long, with 6.5" of that being insertable, and it's about 1.25" wide at the bottom and maxes out at 1.5" wide at the top - in other words, it's shaped very much like a normal penis. However, it does differ from a normal penis in its flexibility (it easily bends in half) and smoothness (it has no texture at all - good if you're uneasy about texture but bad if you want something stimulating). It also has a flared base, so you can use it in a harness or for anal play. And, of course, it's high-quality Tantus silicone, so it stays very clean and doesn't smell or taste at all.
Speaking from my personal experience, I would say that the Tantus Silk Large would be good for beginners or for warming up before taking on larger toys. It was satisfying but not particularly interesting. I use it primarily as an anal warm-up toy before using larger dildos, and it does this job quite well - it's easy to insert and clean. I can't speak directly for vaginal use or harness use, but I would imagine that it might be difficult to use in a harness because of its floppiness.
I will add that my girlfriend is much more satisfied with this dildo than I am and regularly uses it vaginally in conjunction with a Lelo vibrator (after a good washing, of course). She's not as much of a size queen as I am, and she actually has problems inserting it sometimes. She declined to add to the review herself, so take this as second-hand reporting - but I thought I should share as many opinions as I could.

I'll admit that I don't use this one much anymore. I've only used it a few times since I reviewed it, but I enjoyed it when I did. There's nothing bad about it at all. It's just not that interesting. I still use it regularly with my partner, who continues to be a fan.
