Amor Never Leaves Me Wanting More

Amor is a sleek, compact dildo that will work for many different activities because of its versatility and ability to be sterilized. I find the lack of texture a slight put-off, but its size works well for me and it gets the job done just fine. The slightly irritating microscopic bubbles on the surface are the only reason this doesn't get a full five stars.

Use

Amor is a no-frills silicone strap-on dildo. Sometimes simpler is better in design; simple doesn't necessarily mean featureless. Amor's suction cup base makes it great for both vaginal and anal sex and either with a harness or with hands, or you can suction it to a hard surface. Its size makes it good for those who are not new to penetration but are not size queens either. Because of the length, I think this dildo is a bit better for solo sex or partner sex not involving a harness–it's just a tad too short, especially between people with any extra body fat. On the other hand, the length makes it difficult to bruise a cervix in an average vagina, even with vigorous thrusting. If you like average girth and slightly short length, this is a great choice. If you're looking for something a little larger, check out the Magnum, which is shaped just like Amor but a bit longer and girthier. Though it looks quite straight, the curve is enough to stimulate G-spots and P-spots that don't require a lot of special attention.

Because it's made entirely of silicone, you can use Amor anywhere you please, including in the bath or shower.

Material / Texture

Amor is made of 100% silicone. It's flexible but quite firm. I think it's one of the firmer silicone dildos I own. I think this is because it's "short and stout" and not because of the material itself. If I squeeze it in my fist it has very little give. It can be bent but not all the way in half and it requires a lot of effort. You can't bend this with just one hand. The amount of drag on the surface is medium and typical of silicone; I prefer to use lube because of it.

Silicone is completely non-porous and thus can be sterilized between uses if you want to use it both anally and vaginally or share it with someone. No condoms required! Though I love the safety of silicone, this particular dildo does not feel quite as nice as my others. This dildo suffers from silicone bubbles on the surface. These are so small they're nearly impossible to see, but can definitely be felt, especially when it's wet. This occurs because of the manufacturing process and is not considered a defect, but can be slightly irritating if you thrust continuously for a long time. It's similar to when you leave a glass of water out and the glass collects tiny bubbles on the sides, though in silicone the bubbles are even smaller. They mostly occur at the base of the shaft because it is molded head-down and the gas rises. You can see them if you look closely at the photo below–they're the tiny pale specks.

Design / Shape / Size

Besides the bubbles, Amor has very little texture. The head has a very slightly pronounced ridge, but it is angled so that even though there is a ridge, the diameter and circumference are the same as the shaft below it. Beyond that, it's smooth sailing until you encounter bubbles. The ridge is similar in shape to a penis' corona except it's reversed with respect to the curve of the shaft. In other words, the ridge is more on the underside than the top. Below you can see the ridge on the underside of the head.

Amor's head is a little pointy, but not too pointy. It's a little easier to insert than more bulbous heads, but doesn't give much of a "pop" upon insertion because the head is the same size as the shaft. The girth and length are great for me, but it could be too short for some, especially those who like to thrust a lot–this may pop out too much because of the lack of a pronounced head. I think the size is best for beginner or intermediate dildo users or those seeking an "average" dildo. I think it works better for non-strap-on uses than for use with a harness because of its length. If you plan to use this with a harness, consider how much insertable length you like and keep in mind that a harness reduces the insertable length a little bit.

Despite the ridge on the head being "reversed," the head still stimulates my G-spot and A-spot well. If your G- or P-spot requires a lot of pressure, it may not be stimulating enough for you.

Length: 5.5 in
Insertable length: 5 in
Circumference: 4.5 in at widest (head and most of shaft), 4.25 at narrowest (near base)
Diameter: 1.43-1.35 in

This particular color is sadly not available on EdenFantasys. I think the Rainbow color is my favorite feature. Not only does it look amazing in regular lighting, under a black light the orange and yellow stripes fluoresce. The base on the Rainbow version is round and a bit thicker than the typical Fun Factory dildo base. The base on the other colors is a little thinner and triangular. Both bases are suction-cups, easy to hold, and give a firm attachment with an O-ring harness. The triangular base is slightly more ergonomic because it fits the shape of your hand a bit better.

Performance

Amor is quite easy to insert because of its slightly pointy head. The base is O-ring harness compatible and gives a very secure fit because it's not at all flimsy. I have not personally used it in a harness because I find it a bit too short, but it fits into the SpareParts Joque just fine. It should fit into any O-ring harness. The base also works as a flare if you're using it anally without a harness. The base also doubles as a suction cup, so you can stick it to any flat, hard, smooth surface. It works on plastic, glass, metal, whatever, as long as it's smooth, hard. and flat. It likes clean surfaces, so make sure the base and the surface are lint-free if you have any trouble getting it to stick. It can be a bit hard to remove when it's suctioned on well. If you can wet the base and slide it off I think that's the quickest removal.

Care and Maintenance

The lack of texture makes Amor very easy to clean. A quick wash with soap and warm water will work after most uses, but you can also sterilize it either with boiling water or a soak in a 1:10 bleach and water solution. If you are too lazy to sterilize, you can use condoms instead–just make sure the lubricant (if any) doesn't have silicone components. Silicone toys should only be used with water- or oil-based lubricants, though oil is inadvisable for vaginal use or use with a latex condom. Silicone lubricant can damage the surface of the silicone.

To store Amor, you should keep it away from other toys because the materials may react. I recommend keeping it in a box or bag to ensure no contact occurs. Like all silicone, it will attract lint and dust, so I recommend washing both before and after use.

Packaging

Amor comes in Fun Factory's "stubs" (dildos) package. The box has two windows revealing the front and back of the dildo, but it's hard to actually see it inside the box. The sides of the box have some information about product features in German, English, French, and Spanish. The paperboard box opens to reveal Amor in a plastic clamshell. The box also contains a pamphlet on Fun Factory silicone toys (German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian), a pamphlet of all Fun Factory products (English only), and a 3 ml packet of Fun Factory's proprietary lubricant, Toyfluid, which is manufactured by Pjur. The ingredients of Toyfluid: Water, Glycerin, Xanthan Gum, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid. Everything is made in Germany! All of the packaging is recyclable with paper except the clamshell, which is PET and may be recyclable in your area, and the toyfluid packet which is not recyclable.

The box is neither good nor bad for storage and gift-giving. I don't keep my Amor in its box because it's too much of a hassle to get it out. While the box isn't tacky or sexual, it's clear that it's a dildo. If you give this as a gift, be aware of this.

Personal comments

The color of my Amor is the main reason why I bought it. I have a tendency to buy just about anything with a rainbow theme. I probably would not have bought it if it hadn't come in Rainbow, and even now that I have it and love it, I'm not sure if I would buy it again if it didn't come in Rainbow. It's very simple design-wise besides the color, and I usually prefer a little more texture. However, this works well for me, so perhaps I should learn to embrace smooth simplicity.

In comparison with Tantus Acute and Fun Factory Bandito:

Follow-up commentary
Amor is not my most-often-used among all my dildos, but I still love it. The colors are so gorgeous and it's good for a quick romp because its size does not demand warmup. I have a few tiny gripes (no texture, a little stubby) with it, but they don't detract significantly from the toy overall. It's an all-around good basic dildo which can be used for almost anything.

    Awesome review!

FYI for those wondering: The rainbow color is exclusive to a competitor's company, thus why Eden doesn't carry it.

I, too, am jealous of your beautiful rainbow dildo. Why don't more dildos come in rainbows?? Tantus makes a couple that are almost rainbow-like, but not actual rainbows... Anyway, I saw your comparison photo while researching the Acute, and that led me to this review. Now I want the Rainbow Amor!
