Absinthe Curves

The Amethyst is versatile, beautiful, and a great buy, especially for someone's first glass toy or even first g-spot toy. There's a place in many people's collections that this toy would fill perfectly and I highly recommend it if you think anything about it sounds good. It's a quality toy for the price that gets the job done well.

Use

The glass Amethyst dildo is primarily a toy for people to go after their g-spots with, as well as provide general vaginal stimulation. It has two ends that can be used, with one end being more of a handle but still usable if you're so inclined to try it. Be careful when thrusting, this toy has no give at all and could hurt if you get too enthusiastic.

This toy could also be used for anal use hypothetically but be careful with it and keep a good grip on it. It's a little sharp on both ends so it might not be that comfortable and it doesn't have a flared base or anything so go slow and be cautious if you do this.

While I have only used this toy alone, the way it is shaped would make it very convenient for a partner to hold one end and use it on you!

Material / Texture

This my first glass toy and while I didn't know if I would like a completely firm, unyielding toy I loved this one from the moment I took it out of the package. I love the way it's completely smooth to the touch, with no annoying seams or rough spots.
In use, I really enjoyed the smooth feel. It didn't have that drag like a lot of silicone toys I've had.
I also really love the weight of it in my hand. It's not heavy but it's nice and solid.

I think this toy is best suited for users who have a good idea that completely inflexible toys are what they enjoy, regardless of how long they've been using them. Some people prefer toys with some give, and this toy has none. If you don't know yet, I think this toy is an excellent one to start out with to see if you like the texture because of its price and fairly small size, so beginners have something to like.

The Amethyst is made of Pyrex glass, which is extremely safe. It gets a perfect 10 on Eden's material safety scale. It is also resistant to shattering, is good for temperature play, and uses little lube for use. I know some have reservations about using glass toys but rest assured, this toy is not going to break into a thousand pieces during use. This glass may break into chunks which can be safely cleaned up if, say, you drop it but normal use is not going to ruin this product.
My toy has no smell or taste, and doesn't seem to retain any.

Design / Shape / Size

To start, the color of my green Amethyst is gorgeous. It really reminds me of the glass bottle of absinthe I used to have, hence the title of this review. The aesthetic aspects of this toy are what made me want it in the first place and definitely add to my enjoyment of it. I love its curve and the three "bubbles" of the handle/second side. It's almost as fun to handle and look at as it is to play with for me.

I have no problem with realistic toys myself and own a few, but those who don't like them might really like the design of this one. There is nothing about this toy that reminds me of a penis. It looks closer to a flower than that! That said, don't leave it out. I can't think of any innocent thing you could pass this off as even if it doesn't look naughty or anything.
As for traveling with it? I wouldn't do it because I would be scared that it would get scratched in transport but if you decide to I would recommend packing it with more padding than just the little bag it comes in.

The shape is really great for its intended purpose. The curve can't miss my g-spot and judging from the other reviews it's been a good fit for a lot of other people too. I'm not a fan of big toys so I liked that the material and design were a good enough combination to get that stimulation with a smaller size.
The size is very much suited for average users, and I think people with all size preferences could find something to like about it. It doesn't have much in the way of insertable length, about 3 and 1/2" on the "handle" side and 4" on the curved side. The whole thing is about 7.5" long. The diameter overall does not exceed 1 and 1/4 inches on either side.

Performance

The toy has a somewhat pointy tip on the head of the curved side which, if used a little too roughly, can be on the painful side of nice. It does get to the sometimes-elusive g-spot with deadly accuracy though, so it does exactly what it's supposed to do. It does it intensely. The combination of the curve and hard material find the right spot every time for me. If you prefer your stimulation more spread out, you might not like the shape of the head. I found it to be very pinpoint in stimulation.

This toy could also be decent for general vaginal stimulation if you turn it around and use the other end, depending on if you like graduated bulges. That's not really my thing, but I may end up trying it out of curiosity sometime. The head on this end is just as pointy if not more as the other end though, so be warned. It's not any gentler than the other side. This side does, however, make an excellent handle! It is very easy to hang on to even during somewhat vigorous play.

This toy is really only usable as a hand held toy, by you or your partner. It has no suction cup or base so riding it is out of the question, as is harness use.

Oh, and if you want to use this toy for temperature play, just place it in some warm or cold water for a while. It works just great.

Care and Maintenance

Glass is very easy to clean and is great for toys you plan to share. You can clean this toy in various ways including using a 10% bleach solution on it, antibacterial soap and water, toy cleaning spray or wipes, or you can even throw it in the dishwasher.

You can use any kind of lube you want with this toy and it won't harm it. Silicone and water-based lubes are both perfectly all right.

I store my Amethyst in my toy box, inside its red velvet bag that it came with. I plan to get a more padded bag in the future and would recommend other people do the same or put it inside, say, a couple of long socks. You want to store it somewhere that will protect it from scratches and falls, but it's small so you won't have a hard time storing it.

Packaging

The Amethyst came to me in a red velvet, drawstring bag with some bubble wrap and that's about it. The bag wasn't that well made to be honest, but it looked and felt nice enough so I wouldn't be ashamed to give this toy as a gift in it. There were no instructions that I could recall.

Experience

When first using this toy, I immediately went for the side with the curve. It's what I got this toy for and I couldn't wait to try it. I had to be more careful than I usually am when inserting since the curve is more extreme and the material is so hard compared with my other toys. Once in, I felt that the head of the toy was oddly sharp. It wasn't entirely uncomfortable, it just felt weird for a while. The more I went at it and moved it around, the more I liked it and it definitely got my g-spot. I won't go into details but let's just say I discovered new side effects of g-spot play as a result and am very happy with this.
The other end was a very convenient handle for me. I'm always annoyed when toys don't have anything for me to hang on to during use and this one didn't disappoint me at all. I haven't used that side for penetration yet as I am far more interested in g-spot play than anything else when it comes to that but I already love its existence just for the handle aspect alone.
Follow-up commentary
Yep, I still like it! The glass is still gorgeous and the more I use it the better I am at using it to find my g-spot. I will continue to recommend it both as a good beginner g-spot toy and toy for glass beginners like me.
