After asking others and some deliberation, I bought the Amethyst, which is made by SSA Glass. Being totally new to glass, I was excited to try it out. As such, I have to say that I am pretty satisfied with it so far!

The Amethyst comes in four different colors and I acquired the blue one. This double-ended glass dildo is meant for vaginal stimulation and your g-spot, which it is perfect for. The curved side of the toy is great for locating your g-spot, while the bulbous end is a great texture for all kinds of play.

If you desire to use this toy anally, you may do so. The toy is not intended for that, BUT the curved end to this piece makes the toy suitable for anal stimulation and perhaps even your p-spot. I did not use this toy anally, only vaginally.

You can have a LOT of fun with the Amethyst - by yourself or with a partner. You may also enjoy the ability to cool down or heat up this toy, giving great opportunities for temperature play. However, you should be VERY careful while using this toy and while you can thrust, gentle thrusting is recommended as you may hurt yourself if you do it too hard and fast.

When I first received the Amethyst, I noticed how beautiful the coloring was: blue and clear, although not entirely see through. I think this toy is very attractive aesthetically, and one of my new favorites! This glass dildo has NO smell and NO taste to it. It is made out of Pyrex glass and is very smooth, with an EF safety rating of 10, making it the safest toy to use material-wise. It is non-porous, latex and phthalates-free, as well as hypoallergenic.

There is no drag when you run your hand down this toy; your hand glides nicely even over the bulbous end of the toy. It is also VERY firm and rigid - it does not bend in any way.

While the shape is not realistic, that doesn't matter, as its utility is very useful. It is designed to stimulate your g-spot, and the curve takes care of that wonderfully for me!

The texture is suitable for anyone, beginner or advanced. Someone who is new to glass would probably enjoy the smoothness of the glass and the easy grip of this toy just like I did. I think this toy is perfect for anyone, but beginners would find it easy to jump in the pool of glass toy lovers.

I love the design of the Amethyst. While I wanted purple, the blue is very beautiful so I am not all that disappointed. I read a lot about this toy before buying it, and I find that the shape is awesome, honestly. The curved end strokes very nicely against my g-spot while the bulged end is a great texture that feels terrific while going in and out of me.

I think the size is very nice, and even a little longer in length would have been great. I love the fact that it is double ended, with two very distinct designs to give you two ways to use this toy!

The toy has one end that is curved, with a small head that is well rounded, to rub against your g-spot or other spot during vaginal stimulation. It creates a lovely sensation with no drag or any other texture to distract you, while you use the other end as a handle. Then, you turn the toy around for another feel altogether. The other end has 3 big bulges and one small bulge to give you a different kind of texture and sensation. Being smooth with a rounded end, you can please yourself to your hearts content, as long as you gentle so you do not end up bruising yourself internally!




The toy is 7 1/4th inches long (not along the curve), while it is roughly 8 inches along the curve. You can insert 3 or 4 inches when using either end. The curved end is about 2 1/4th inches around, while the bulges are roughly 3 1/2 inches around. I say "roughly" because this toy was hard to measure precisely. This toy is also rather light considering it is glass, but I'd say it is slightly over half a pound.

This toy is not discreet, but if packaged correctly, could be suitable for travel. Being glass, it needs to be well protected to prevent it from breaking or getting scratches, etc.

The Amethyst is a beautiful toy that works wonderfully. Even though it doesn't vibrate, I found the feeling of the glass and the design to be very pleasing. A curved end for exact g-spot (or p-spot) stimulation, and a bulgy end for texture play. I also love that this toy can be used for temperature play, and I didn't mind the coldness of the toy - but you can warm it up in your hands if you prefer. This toy is definitely not harness compatible, and again, if you use this toy anally, you should be very careful and gentle with it to prevent damage or bruising.

This toy is very easy to care for. Glass is a very safe material and non-porous. You can use soap and water to clean this toy as well as toy cleaner/wipes. Be sure to hold this toy very firmly as it becomes slippery when wet. You should also use condoms if you are going to share this toy.

While lube isn't really required, you can use a little for an extra slippery effect. Compatible with oil, water or silicone lube, you can choose whatever works for you.

Pyrex glass is very strong and harder to break or shatter it. You should store it with your other glass toys though, or wherever is best for you to prevent damage. If the toy was damaged/broken, it would not shatter, but it would be in bigger pieces and/or snap. A padded pouch would probably be your best option to keep this toy safe!

The toy came in a red pouch wrapped in bubble wrap to protect it. It came with no instructions. You could use this pouch for storage and to keep the toy free from dust bunnies. If you are going to travel with it, a padded pouch or something similar would be recommended. I currently just use the pouch the toy came in and put it up in a safe place when not in use.

I really enjoyed this toy. While I am new to glass toys, I enjoyed the new sensations and textures! I only played with it a little while, but as I am used to vibes I did not get off while using the Amethyst to try and stimulate my g-spot. However, I think I need to practice with it more because I think I wasn't hitting the correct place. This is definitely my favorite new toy, though, and I am loving the fact that I get to experiment with new toys and materials! :)
