Your wish is its Command(o)

The Vegan Commando is an excellent choice for a harness. It's sturdy enough to hold almost any dildo, and it's highly configurable - great if you aren't sure exactly what you want in a harness yet. The microfiber vegan leather is very easy to take care of, and is likely to last for a long time.

Pros
Very flexible, comfortable and sturdy. Vegan leather very easy to care for.
Cons
Hardware nickel-plated, not good for people who like dildos positioned high up on the mons pubis.

extremely useful review
The Vixen Creations' Vegan Commando harness is an excellent choice for a mid-range harness. It's sturdy, comfortable, made of an excellent material, and its design is extremely flexible, making this a harness that will both stay around as well as grow with you for a long time.

A harness is designed to hold a dildo for hands-free use, so if a harness isn't sturdy then its functionality is limited. The Vegan Commando passes this test. It's a minimalist design, sure, but it has support everywhere it needs to be in order to securely attach a dildo to someone's pelvis. The O-ring is left open, without any sort of backing plate, but because of the design it is adequately supported at either three or four points for a firm foundation. Because the Commando sports a full waist strap, the O-ring doesn't get stretched by the harness in use, giving a more snug fit between the dildo and the O-ring. The combination of buckles for security at the waistband (a higher-stress area) and D-rings for the leg straps (for more adjustment options) gives a harness that doesn't slip but eliminates the risk of having to choose between too tight or a little floppy. What if there's just no way the stock Commando is going to fit? Don't worry - Aslan has you covered. They have publicly committed to making semi-custom variants of their harnesses when needed so no one is left out.

The comfort of the Vegan Commando comes from two sources, the good design and the material. Design has been talked about, but give me a moment to wax rhapsodic over the material. Aslan's microfiber Vegan Leather is excellent. Whether you buy it because you're ethically opposed to leather or just want a comfortable easy-to-care for option, the vegan leather will please. It's soft, not like shoe leather or belt leather, but more similar to the kind of leather you find in a leather jacket, but instead of a semi-gloss surface it has a matte finish, almost like suede. One thing that it is definitely not like is plastic. The vegan leather's only resemblance to leather-look vinyl car seats or many other fake leathers are the facts that it is synthetic and that it is designed to be like leather. It's made from microfibers, the same technology that produces the silky coverings on the Liberator toys, and is soft, strong, breathable, and doesn't poke or chafe during use, not even at the points and seams. It's strong enough to be really cinched down, and has a bit of stretch for comfort. While I haven't used it for long enough to know, my suspicions are that it won't have a problem with cracking for a very long time, and the surface is comfortable to the touch, never cold or clammy (unless you put it on wet). Cleanup is made easy because, unlike leather, exposure to water doesn't damage the vegan leather. Instead of spot-cleaning with gentle soap followed by oiling you can toss your Vegan Commando in a soapy sink and wash it out, followed with a rinse and drip-dry. Don't forget the dry part, as it's the only true care essential. The metal hardware (buckles and snaps) are nickel-plated steel, so they can rust if you put it away damp. Note that the use of nickel to protect the buckles means that you should avoid the Commando if you are sensitive to nickel.

The flexibility of the Commando's design impressed me. The most obvious feature to put in under flexibility is the fact that the Commando can be converted between a two or three strap model, but it doesn't end there. The Commando features two different O-ring "height" settings that can move your dildo up or down about a quarter-inch, and sports about the most interchangeable O-ring of any harness out there. The Commando can quite literally use just about any size of O-ring you can get, from slightly over an inch to about 3" in diameter. No more problems with "I'd like to use that dildo, but my O-ring doesn't fit".

The Commando series of harnesses are "mid-rise" harnesses. They fit a bit above the lowest of the low riders, but definitely are designed to position the dildo near the clit to give the wearer increased stimulation. The Commando can be adjusted to ride a little higher, and with a bit of tweaking men can use it as well with the dildo mounted above the penis.

Scott, Any problems with the microfiber material shedding? I just returned the leather version as it would shed little specs of black leather all over my vixskin toys. I really like the design and am considering the vegan version.

No shedding problems (yet, anyway). The microfiber material is smoothly finished on both sides, so there isn't the rough "sheddy" area that you often get with leather.
