The Least Intimidating Dildo...Ever?
A small toy that is worth your money if you are looking to try out dildo play for the first time, otherwise the size is likely going to be a little disappointing.

Pros
High quality silicone toy that is excellent for beginners
Cons
Very small
I got the Tantus Small Silk not on its own but as part of the Bend Over Beginner Harness Kit and it was one of the first dildos I ever owned. The Bend Over Beginner Kit comes with both this dildo and the slightly larger Silk Large dildo, but of course both toys also come on their own.
In terms of construction the Small Silk dildo is excellent, the toy is 100% pure silicone and extremely durable. Cleaning this toy is as simple as throwing it in some boiling water for a few minutes (or alternately just sticking it in the top shelf of a dishwasher). The silicone material is not only easy to clean it is an attractive metallic purple color (you can get it in pink and black as well) and is firm enough to stand easily on its own but just flexible enough to bend and feel “soft” to the touch. The dildo is entirely smooth across its entire surface lacking any seams and only a small label on the flared base of the toy.
Everything about this toy was a real great sell for me, but when it arrived it was much smaller than I expected. While I wanted to get a smaller dildo to start experimenting with strap-on play with my partner I was really glad the Bend Over Beginner Kit came with the larger dildo. The flared base of the toy makes it very easy to use with a harness, though you'll want to make sure you have an o-ring of the appropriate size otherwise this toy might simply slide out. Once in a harness this dildo is little more than an oversized finger and while that might be perfect for anyone really nervous about trying out a dildo it is certainly smaller than what I was looking for. While I occasionally pull this dildo out to “warm up” I have never used this dildo for any extended period of time, it just does not provide enough stimulation for me to make it worthwhile.
For anyone trying out dildos or strap-on play for the first time this may be an excellent choice—it is inoffensive, smooth, small, and built with quality construction and materials. However, anyone looking for any substantial vaginal or anal stimulation will probably quickly want to move on to a larger toy. The Small Silk dildo is definitely a great choice for those nervous about trying out dildo play for the first time, but definitely not recommended for anyone with a need for size or texture!

I think I was maybe a little too harsh on the Small Silk in my first review. While I graduated quickly from the small to the medium version of this toy there are certainly plenty of reasons why this toy makes for an excellent purchase. Especially for those intimidated by other large dildos this toy makes for a totally wonderful introduction to the world of toys. Not only is it non-realistic, colorful, and small...but it's also made of silicone and will last a lifetime with proper care. Sure you might move on to something bigger but this toy is well worth the investment and a truly great beginner dildo.
