The Acute: Making Math Fun
Lord knows that "spots" are the most mystified subjects within the broader topic of sexuality, and many companies have attempted to master spotting with elaborate designs. Tantus' Acute skips the frills and the mystical talk and cuts to the chase with this fantastic, to-the-point dildo. Anyone looking for a toy to spark their love affair with a spot needs this!

Pros
Plump head and curve perfect for G-spotting, easy to share and clean, body safe, harness compatible.
Cons
Base is a somewhat small and flimsy, may not reach all p-spots, lack of texture may turn some off.
Tantus' Acute is an affordable, pint sized beauty clocking in at 6" (about 5 of which are insertable) in length and a little over 1" in diameter. Due to its size it's certainly not a dildo that calls a lot of attention to itself at a glance, but with one use I had a new favorite G spotting dildo. Within just a month or so of owning this guy, it's already seen more use than some of my other older dildos have in their lifetime. So don't be deceived but the Acute's modest dimensions and rather simple looking design. There is absolute brilliance in this size and simplicity!
When standing upright on its base the Acute forms, well, a particularly acute angle that not many other toys do. For this reason this dildo is best used for very accurate and direct G spot stimulate. You will not get a light brushing against your G spot as you might with a more linear dildo; the geometry of this one is ambitious and it goes in for the kill. Its curve also makes P spotting extra easy and its base makes it perfectly safe for anal use. My boyfriend (whose P spot is located a bit further in than perhaps most) and I have had moderate success with this. When inserted manually and with a fair bit of work we were able to achieve a prostate orgasm, but it was difficult. If you are like my boyfriend and know that your prostate is a bit deeper this may not be the best choice for you, but otherwise this is by all rights an excellent P spotter. Due to its length the Acute is not great for anal penetration in a harness, as about an inch of its length is lost when strapping in. However vaginal penetration with the Acute shouldn't be a problem as five inches should be plenty even after the harness is factored in.
I really feel that this dildo shines when used manually, because it's with that kind of control that its intuitive ability to find the G/P spots really shows. It's also wear the genius of the angle becomes apparent. The angle makes thrusting not only more pleasurable, but easier on the hand and arm in use as well. No matter position I use this in, I find it infinitely easier than many other dildos because the angle means I don't have to awkwardly arc my hand or arm to access my spot. Lying on my back, it honestly feels like it's doing 80% of the work for me. It's the best thing next to a dildo that fucks you of its own accord. The only issue I really had with the mechanics of actually using it was that the base was rather slim and flimsy, which made gripping somewhat difficult but hardly impossible.
The contours along the inside of the curve are another high point of this toy. Slight enough not to cause pain, but pronounced enough to provide a little sensation when thrusting, they're a great compliment to the larger tip. Likewise, the bulb-like head provides delicious contrast against the slimmer shaft, and gives me butterflies with each thrust. The large, rounded head is also great for keeping within and simply rocking or massaging as it has a long, semi-flat surface that rests nicely against the G/P spot. The head and shaft work in tandem with one another to produce incredibly internal orgasms that are a hell of a lot of fun building up to.
The Acute is a marvelously low maintenance toy made from Tantus' 100% medical grade silicone. This means that it's completely non-porous, allowing no bacteria to penetrate and be trapped within the toy. So you can use your Acute for anal penetration one day, and then after sterilizing it, can use it for vaginal penetration the next without any worry of spreading unwanted microbes. All it takes to sterilize a 100% silicone toy such as this is a rinse with a 10% bleach solution or about 4 minutes in a pot of boiling water. Frequent boiling can compromise the shape of the toy over time, so it's not necessary to throw it on the stove every time. For non-intensive cleaning, not sterilization, you can throw your toy on the top rack of the dishwasher (no soap, please!) or wash it with antibacterial soap and warm water. The silicone used for this toy is a smooth, glossy form that tends to attract lint, so for storage you may wish to keep this in a Ziploc bag to prevent hairballing. Silicone can also compromise (read also: melt) less sturdy materials such as jelly, so if you store them together please keep them separated by using a Ziploc bag.

Follow-up commentary
8 months after original review
I still love this dildo a ton, and it's only become more useful since my re-introduction to anal penetration. After a painful tear last June, it took me several months to recover and then a few more months to get to a place where I could take anything of this size.
This is now the largest toy that I own that I can take anally, and it's so squishy and soft that I think it's the most perfect candidate. The only issue that I continue to have with it is that it's sometimes TOO squishy. Once it's inserted it's a redeeming quality, but when trying to insert? The Acute tends to slip and slide around and I have some difficulty position it to enter me properly and without pain. The base is also a little tough to hang on to as well.
Over all though, I still love this toy. I think it's much harder to find small toys that are great. There's literally dozens of excellent toys that come to mind when I think of larger size - Vixen's Leo and Johnny, Tantus' Squirt and Rascal, Jollie's Jollet, etc.etc.etc. But smaller toys...I feel like that's a tough bill to fill properly. Acute does a great job and is still a favorite :)

Thank you for viewing Acute – sex toy review page!
I have never heard of frequent boiling damaging the shape of a toy though. But I suppose it is possible. Fortunately I don't share mine so sterilization is rarely necessary.
Really love this shade of purple..or blue, whichever it is I like it!
