The Acute - Certainly Not Obtuse!
This dildo makes up in stimulation what it lacks in size. Although the Acute is modest in length and girth, its bulbous head and gentle ridges makes it fantastic for g-spot stimulation and both vaginal and anal penetration. This dildo would make a nice addition to any toy collection, whether that of a beginner or an advanced user.

Pros
High-Quality Silicone, Bulbous Head, Size Appropriate for Anybody, Pretty, Easy to Clean
Cons
Top-Heavy, Base Seems Flimsy, Attracts Lint Like It’s Going out of Fashion
I ordered the Acute by Tantus as a novice to sex toys. After searching for endless hours for a dildo that was both high quality and unintimidating, the Acute seemed like a good choice for me. Since receiving it, the Acute has lived up to most of my expectations.
The Acute is an unrealistic dildo with a (somewhat flimsy) base. It's six inches long (about five of that six inches is insertable), an inch and a quarter in diameter, and made of firm silicone. Prior to using this dildo, I never had much experience with g-spot stimulation. However, the head of the Acute provides delicious sensations. I’ve never thought that this toy was anything other than the perfect size; while it might pale in comparison to other larger toys, using the Acute for shallow thrusting provides a wonderful g-spot massage. The ridges along the inner curve of the dildo provide subtle stimulation; coupled with the smooth silicone of the rest of the dildo, this toy is great for any sort of play, whether involving a partner or just you and your own hand. The most powerful orgasms I’ve had have come from this toy.
This dildo is O-ring compatible, making it a good choice for harness play. The base of the Acute also makes it safe for anal play. However, the base of the Acute is one of the few downsides of this otherwise fantastic dildo: in comparison to the rest of the toy, the base is flimsy. While this does not detract from one’s ability to use the toy, it—in combination with the curve in the dildo as well as the sizeable head—makes it top-heavy. Keep this in mind if you decide to stand it on the edge of a counter. It very well will take a topple onto the floor.
The Acute is made of Tantus’ high-quality silicone. It’s non-porous and easy to clean: I prefer to boil it for 3-5 minutes, but a mild bleach solution or even washing with anti-bacterial soap and hot water should do the trick. The silicone of this toy is smooth with a slight amount of drag—this may be dealt with by using lube (so long as it isn’t silicone-based). However, as the toy is made of silicone, it is an absolute lint- and dust-magnet. As long as it’s cleaned before and after use, this shouldn’t be a problem.
All in all, the Acute makes a fantastic addition to anyone’s toy collection. It’s a great all-around, everyday dildo, great for use in solo sex or partner sex. Honestly, it’s the best purchase I’ve made in ages. I look forward to having many more orgasms with the Acute.

Experience
Before using this toy, I actually found that g-spot stimulation was painful. I never enjoyed it, whether by my own hand or the hand of my partner. At first, upon reading that this toy was intended for g-spot use, I was a little afraid that the Acute would not be the toy for me. However, I was able for the first time to enjoy g-spot stimulation using this toy. As someone trying to incorporate vaginal penetration into my masturbation for the first time, the Acute certainly footed the bill. I imagine it would be great for more advanced individuals as well.
While I've mainly used the toy vaginally, I have also found that the Acute is also good for oral sex. This dildo, although unrealistic, is my second favorite thing to blow (the first being my partner). The medical-grade silicone does not harbor bacteria and has no distinctive taste or smell, so it makes the Acute a good choice for blow jobs. However, I would recommend cleaning the Acute when changing orifices, especially if moving from anal to either vaginal or oral. It should also be sterilized when going from one partner to another if you aren't fluid-bonded with your partner. Either that, or use and change condoms on the toy accordingly.

Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
This is still generally my go-to dildo for masturbation, especially for g-spot stimulation. If anything, I think I might like it more now than when I first received it! It's just an all-around good toy. It has earned a permanent place in my bedside drawer.
