SpareParts joque harness review

This may well be the closest-to-perfect harness I've ever used. It's not the most attractive one out there, but for those who like to harness up regularly and get a real workout, I highly recommend the Joque.

Pros
Comfort, superior design, versatility.
Cons
Leg straps- too thin, might stretch out quickly. Wish they were wider. Label on front.

extremely useful review
I’m a harness snob. I don’t know when that happened, but sometime after my first nylon harness and before my most recent acquisition- the Spareparts Joque|SpareParts joque harness- I became very demanding of my harnesses. Typical problems I encounter are comfort, fit on my body and with a cock I’m using, and adjustment range/hold- I had to punch my own holes in one harness that should have been the right size. The Joque addresses all of these demands.

The first thing I noticed about the Joque was the unique attachment of leg straps to waistband. This feature is not one of the things touted in the description or on the company’s website, but let me tell you, it’s fabulous. Anyone with hips and a solid harness history probably been frustrated with the way some leg straps slide around on the back of a waistband, or just don’t sit where they actually do their job (I know I have!). These leg straps are secured on the front half of the harness, so that they actually do wrap around my body and keep the harness more secure. When I had my cock in place, the weight of it didn’t shift the position of these straps as it has in other harnesses. As far as comfort- everyone is right. This is, by far, the most comfortable harness I’ve ever worn. I occasionally sacrifice comfort for style- my favorite rubber harness often leaves black marks and deep indentations on me- but I can imagine wearing the Joque for hours without being hurt by it. The material is fairly breathable, and was easy to wash in the sink with some hand soap when I was done with it.

I was concerned about the expandable o-ring, mainly because anything stretchy will tend to stretch too much. However, after squeezing my thick (2” diameter) cock through and fucking my boy from behind for a while, I have faith in this o-ring.

Last, but not least, the adjustment process. No buckles or d-rings here- this harness uses strong Velcro for the basic waist sizing, and buckles for leg straps and further adjustment of the waistband. These buckles hold better than d-rings- even while fucking in a standing position that puts a fair amount of tension on these parts, I didn't have to stop for adjustment.

Other possible uses that I have yet to try:

Adding penetration of the wearer. The pouch looks like it will indeed hold something inside me, if I so desire, or keep a vibrator in place.

Hard packing. I haven’t yet mastered the art of packing hard without being too indecent to go out in public, but I have some ideas for how this harness might help. More on that later. ;)

How did you find the positioning?  Something I've found with harnesses is that sometimes they hang a little low...the dong doesn't stand at attention, so to speak.

I have a different harness (The Bionic by Aslan Leather), but i know what you mean Pria, positioning can be a bitch, esp. during action! Is this harness really worth the price though?

I want to hear about how it works in the shower/bath/hot tub/in a wet (water, not lube/fluid) situation. I mean, there aren't that many two-strap harnesses that can be soaked...

    Follow up review perhaps?

Positioning is good- I know exactly what you mean about the balance.

I will absolutely check out the water play possibilities... though any rubber harness (I have two) is shower-safe too.

Hmmm...do we sell rubber harnesses? Also, I'd *assume* (could be wrong) that this is slightly more comfy?

So, this was my first harness, purchased mainly because it came in a size large enough to fit my hips comfortably.  Without anything yet to compare it to, I do really love it, especially after I experimented some and learned to wear it very low, with the base of the dildo right over my clit.  Here's my question -- have you tried using it yet for hard packing? I have, with a smaller dildo, and only in my house, as the bulge was very obvious and I am very new to this.  I was playing in a pool this weekend, very much wishing I had it with me.  Next time I'll have it, and will definitely share...

Yes, I have used it for hard packing a couple times now. It's always a little obvious, but it's hard packing. What I do with this harness (and why I thought it would work better for this) is put the cock in, then slide the base back and down so it's kind of sitting inside all that fabric. The head of the cock is sticking out, but at an upward angle that's easier to conceal with underwear/pants. I was in public like this and it was fairly unnoticeable (I think).

Definitely more comfortable than rubber harnesses, in my experience. I did just put it through its first wash, and am wondering if the fabric is going to form those irritating little balls... will update soon.

I've washed mine a couple times recently (it was a hot summer where I live and play), and it's held up really well. I still want to know how it works in a pool.

Do you know if the label can come off? Is it sort of similar to underwear labels, or is it a sticker-type label? The label on the front is a bit bothersome to me, too. I wanted to buy this one, but I'm still contemplating it because of the price. It looks great, though.

Sir--it can come off! It was bothering me too, so I took a seam ripper to it and it's fine now. I was bothered by that too.

Cool, that's what I was planning on doing. I usually do that for my underwear as well, so I figured that I could do the same for this harness.

Thanks for the hard packing tip-- I'll try it out when I get mine to review
