So I Heard You Like Jock Straps
Though the jock strap isn't exactly like a jock strap you might usually buy, it is a special jock strap that allows you to pack your packer or STP without having the back of the testicles touch your skin. Wear it with or without underwear, it's entirely up to you! It's special and unique, and a nice addition to the Pete line of packing underwear.

Pros
Very comfortable, made of breathable material, makes a nice packing strap!
Cons
Doesn't fit like other jock straps, front piece sagged a bit.
Trunks and briefs are well and good, but jock straps are just plain fun! SpareParts kept this in mind when they decided to make two different styles of jock straps for their Pete packing underwear line. The Freestyle jock strap came in the same packaging that the rest of the line comes in—a plastic, resealable baggie with a paper insert that labels the size chart and a little information about the underwear line itself. Very minimal, very easy to get rid of and recycle. I personally kept the resealable baggie for storage of other things and recycled the paper insert.
Designed to appear similar to a jock strap, the Freestyle jock strap has a front crotch piece, two thigh straps, and a waistband. There is no back to this underwear, which is the reason why it's called a "jock strap." What makes it special and sets it apart from other jock straps is that it has three layers of thin material for the front piece that allow you to soft pack while wearing the strap. You can place your packer inside of the pouch by pulling the shaft of your packer through the little hole in the middle layer of material and by closing the flaps around the back of the testicles. Remember, this is not only for use with packers. STPs can also be used since you can pull the shaft through the material.
Like the other styles, the Freestyle jock strap is black. It's made of that same spandex-jersey and nylon blend that all of SpareParts' products are made of. 88% nylon, and 12% spandex-jersey. That 12% alone makes this jock strap extremely stretchy and breathable, and the material itself is very similar to bathing suit fabric. That means that you can certainly wear the underwear underwater, if you so desire, which is a good feature since you may want to use this as a simple packing strap as opposed to actual underwear (I'll explain why soon, don't worry).
My Freestyle jock strap is the size small, and it was definitely true to size. They have their size chart listed on the product page, so make sure to check before purchasing. If you prefer things looser or more relaxed fitting, get a size up. If you like it tighter fitting, then stay at your size. I do not recommend, by any means, ordering a size down.
This was my first jock strap, but I know how jock straps are supposed to fit because I've been with plenty of men who enjoy wearing them and are almost jock strap aficionados. Their purpose is not only to leave space in the back for that bare, easy-access look, but to also lift and cup the male package to make it look more in place and aesthetically pleasing. The Freestyle does that, in some sense, but not any more than the other pairs of underwear in the Pete underwear line.
One of my personal problems was with the fit (keep in mind that this is for my body type). The front piece was just way too long for me. Even when I tried adjusting the jock strap to make it fit lower, the back came up extremely high and irritated me because it just looked uneven and not too attractive. When I put on pants, the one strap showed through the top and looked awkward. This could be because I have a fairly short torso (I'm about 5' 1" and wear a 26x28 or 28x30 in pants), but judging from pictures on other reviews, this did not happen only for me. Because of this, I found that I'll probably only be using this as a packing strap when I feel that I need to.
I was really excited to have my own little jock strap since I had never owned one, but it just proved to be more of a hassle than it was worth. I love the Pete underwear line, but I feel that this one was sort of a miss, and not because I'm not used to jock straps, but because it didn't fit as nicely as I expected it to. However, if you're wanting a comfortable packing strap that's not noticeable under clothing or underwear, I wholeheartedly recommend purchasing the Freestyle. It is extremely comfortable, very lightweight, and close fitting, which are all things that are great in a packing strap.

Experience
I feel that this jock strap could use some minor improvements to make it fit more like a regular jock strap would. If the hole and placement of the packer were placed a bit higher, that would definitely help to make it more natural fitting. One other problem that I had, but this is again probably due to my height and size, was that the front piece sagged a bit on me. The waistband fit perfectly, but the front piece was just way too long and big for me. I don't know why that happened, but just be cognizant of that before buying if you have similar measurements to mine.
The reason why I ultimately rated it three stars is because I feel that it wasn't designed as well as I know SpareParts is capable of. Yes, it makes a great packing strap, but that wasn't its only purpose. It was also made to be a great jock strap, and it didn't succeed there.

Thank you for viewing SpareParts Pete freestyle packer – brief harness review page!
Kindred: Excellent, hopefully that works out! I just hope that the elastic isn't like the elastic in the thighs on the briefs, that elastic bothered me.
