Oh Theta, get hard for me!

If this toy were made out of glass, wood, metal or some other firm material or had a firm core, I think it would be terrific, but it lost its hard-on.

Use

This is a slim little curved silicone dildo in a unique, attractive shape with a base that makes it usable in a harness or safe for anal play. It's very soft and extremely flexible, which can be a pro or a con depending on your use and preferences. The flared base is a unique shape that adds to it's stability in a harness and grip while thrusting by hand. It comes with a little bullet vibe, which can be inserted in the base to add vibrations to the toy.

Material / Texture

Like all of Tantus' silicone dildos, Theta is comprised of smooth, slick premium silicone. It has no smell or taste and is perfectly smooth. It's also very soft, pliable, bendable, and squishy. Silicone rates a perfect 10 on Eden Fantasy's safety scale. It's boil-able, bleach-able, dishwasher safe, or very easy to clean pretty much anyway you prefer. (Take the little vibe out of the base before you do any of those things!). It's non-porous, so it's safe to share if you sanitize it between partners and orifices. Because it's silicone, you cannot use silicone lube with it! Water based or oil based only! It is a major lint magnet, so I recommend storing it where it won't get all lint-y or washing it before use (as well as after, obviously.)

Design / Shape / Size

This dildo has such a unique, pretty shape, kind of artistic and not at all realistic. I was actually kind of excited about it. I like slim dildos, so the lack of girth (it's very narrow at only 1" at its widest point) didn't put me off too much and I thought that the shape would give good g-spot stimulation, but I didn't count on how flimsy it would be. If it was made of firmer silicone or had a core that held it's shape this would be amazing. Because it's so flimsy you can't apply any pressure with it and it's beautiful curve is completely wasted. Any pressure can straighten the toy almost completely. The neck right past the head is the narrowest part and it's so soft and flexible there that the beautiful bulb of the head has absolutely no support. It's also difficult or impossible to thrust with because it's so flimsy. This makes it difficult to use anally or for women with strong or tight vaginal muscles because it can't stand up to any resistance. It's like this dildo lost its hard on. In a harness, the oblong shape of the base (looks almost like a flattened egg) makes it very stable, but once again, thrusting is a challenge because it's so flimsy. There are a series of small ridges on the base of the dildo. I'm not sure if these are supposed to provide clitoral stimulation when fully inserted vaginally but I have had no luck getting them to do anything.

Performance

This toy is beautiful and looks like it would feel terrific, if only it wasn't so soft. It's nearly impossible to thrust with and so flimsy that it can't provide any g-spot pressure and it's very difficult to insert anally because it's so soft and flexible that it has no resistance to tighter muscles. I don't have a P-spot but I'm reasonably sure it would be worse at p-spotting than g-spotting and it's pretty worthless at g-spotting. In a harness it's very stable due to it's unique base shape. The base is pretty thick which makes it a little odd in a harness but doesn't seem to affect function. It's just way too flimsy to do anything fun with. The vibe is the standard little silver plastic bullet. One push button, one speed. Pretty basic. Not terribly strong and really buzzy. Not super loud but not quiet either.

Care and Maintenance

This silicone is super easy to care for. Soap and water, toy cleaner, wipes, bleach, alcohol, boiling, dishwasher, however you like to clean it. And since it's non-porous, super safe. Water based or oil based lubes only, no silicone since it will degrade the material. Store it away from jelly or other types of toys, since they can cause each other to melt. Storing it in some kind of pouch, preferably of a low lint material, will help keep it free of lint and hair and other things that it attracts like a magnet. The vibe in the base can be a little difficult to remove, so adding a drop or two of lube to the hole where the vibe inserts will help. Also since the toy is so thin, you can squeeze the toy to push the vibe out which helps.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

All of Tantus' silicone dildos and vibes come in clear pastic, generic, uninspired packages. Not discreet and not great for gifting, but functional and sometimes it's nice to not feel like you are paying for packaging.
Follow-up commentary
I just don't use it. It's not firm enough for anal use and too small for vaginal use. I'd love the shape for anal if only it were firm enough to insert. Alas.

Fab review! I've wanted this one forever! I actually never considered how floppy this would be! I might have to re-consider and just go with Delta. I have read somewhere that those ridges were meant for clitoral stimulation. I wondered whether or not they done much. I guess they wouldn't for me either. Thanks for the great info!
