This harness took me on my "maiden voyage" with strap-on sex. It is user-friendly, fully adjustable, and comfortable. Recommended for anyone who wants an affordable, mostly washable (and mostly animal-free) harness.
I wanted to try fucking a partner with a strap-on, so off to the sex shop we went. This harness was one of the least expensive, which was one of the reasons why I bought it in the first place (I didn't want to break the bank on something I might not use much). When we got it home, I took it out of the packaging and slipped it on easily. I would recommend this harness for anyone looking for an easy-to-use, durable harness that's affordable.
This harness consists of nylon straps which are pretty long. These caught my eye because leather harnesses aren't the kinds of things you want to throw in the wash! There is a Latigo leather panel in the front of the harness with an included 1.5 inch O-ring. It does not include a dildo. Latigo leather is pretty thick and strong and is often used for outdoor and equine/equestrian purposes. It is a bit stiff, but isn't uncomfortable, and is cut so that it shouldn't get in the way for anyone. The O-ring attaches with rather heavy-duty snaps that go around the O-ring. These diminish the ring's capacity slightly, so it might be prudent to invest in a variety of sizes. Besides, O-rings usually run about $1.50 each, or you can buy cute color-coded sets of them.
The design of this harness is simple and looks quite becoming when it's on! I like a lot of Sportsheets products, because they are fairly easy to use and they're usually easy to care for.
If you look at the images provided, two of the straps go under and through, which connect at your hips and hug your butt in a good way. Two more straps connect around your waist, and they're all easily cinched up to fit you by pulling on the slack in the straps; no buckles. They're just plastic sliders (like on a backpack strap) which hold once they're pulled into place. It's quick to get on, which is a nice feature when you're rarin' to go!
However, the way the leather panel is situated, it's best to leave some slack so you can get your dildo in place before you tighten the straps all the way up, or attach the dildo before you put the harness on at all. Otherwise the straps might start to migrate through their slots in the leather, and fishing them back through can be a little tricky, especially if your hands are already, uh, slippery.
The size of this harness is really variable. I am an average-sized gal, and this fit with LOTS of extra room. It says it fits waist sizes up to 60 inches, which is about twice what I measure, which for me meant that there was a lot of strappage hanging down. This didn't bother me much, I could tuck it around or trim the straps down a bit to fit me, or maybe tie cute little bows on the sides. I would recommend this to almost anyone, in terms of size.
This harness had no frills, and that was part of its appeal. It's pretty easy to figure out just from looking at it. I found it pretty easy to put on and comfy to wear, not unlike some climbing harnesses I've used in the past (for rock climbing, not humping). The fit was logical and once it was situated, everything stayed in place. Putting toys into this harness might take some doing if you're changing the O-ring, but it's pretty painless. Once the dildo is in place and you're all cinched down and ready to go, the same straps that are holding the harness around your body are also holding the dildo, so it won't go anywhere unless you loosen something.
When you remove the Latigo leather panel, the rest of the harness is completely washable, as it's nylon. The snaps may not be rustproof, but I have yet to run into any issues.
The leather panel can also be completely removed, thus making the harness even more compatible. I've used the Nexus Sr. in this puppy and it worked out great! I imagine other double-ended or "strapless strap-on dildos" would work well, too (because we all know that sometimes things just don't stay in place in every position). When using the Nexus, I inserted the "wearer's end" first and then brought the harness over it to hold it in place. The straps ended up having to ride a bit lower for this application, but stayed in place through a rather vigorous session!
Follow-up commentaryI still like it2 months after original review
This harness has risen to the challenge again and again; since the O-ring can be changed out, it's good for any sized dildo, and since the panel is removable, it's good for double-ended toys like the Nexus Sr. I've lost weight since I bought it, and it still makes a perfect, snug fit. It's gotten a lot of play for these reasons; it's easy to use, adjustable, and strong.
I've washed it a few times (by hand) and there's no rust on the snaps or other evidence of wear & tear. Nylon strapping is a really durable material, and I plan to keep this one in my collection for a long time to come!
