Strap on harness

"If love isn't forever..."

I really had my hopes up for the Aslan Slick Jock harness, but in the end, I was very disappointed with its design. It's difficult to get a proper fit with this harness, and the lack of interchangeable o-rings makes it all too easy to yank a dildo right back out of the front opening. Still, the material is nice and the construction is high-quality, which gives me high hopes for other Aslan products.

Pros
Quality leather material.
Cons
Difficult to adjust, recommended wear style doesn't really work, no o-rings, dildos slip out easily.

Use

Harnesses are usually thought of as a "lesbians-only" toy, but the Aslan Slick Jock harness actually has several other uses. While it certainly can be worn by a woman to penetrate another woman, it can also be worn by a woman to penetrate a man (referred to as "pegging"). If a man manages to situate the harness properly on his pelvis, he can also use the harness to penetrate a woman anally and vaginally at the same time.

It's also a given that harnesses, especially leather ones, just look plain hot. There's nothing like the sight of a brightly-colored fake penis hanging betwixt your freshly-shaved legs, while you fasten up your corset and reprimand your slave for not licking your boots fast enough...

...um, where was I?

Because this harness is leather, it doesn't breath, and the metal buckles and straps make it a bit too bulky to wear under clothing. Hence, this is not a harness suited to packing.

Material

The Slick Jock harness is made out of leather. Hence, it is not a vegan-friendly product, and it does have a slight leathery smell for those who are sensitive to that particular scent. The material has a minimal amount of give; in fact, I'd say it's quite stiff, so getting the proper fit takes a little maneuvering. The leather feels slightly slick under your fingers, like rubber cote.

This particular harness does not come with care instructions from Aslan; however, I can supply some simple instructions for you! Leather is water-resistant and can be wiped down with a damp cloth to remove any dirt or bodily fluids. If necessary, you can use a mild soap, preferably one from a leather shop. Make sure you store leather products in a bag or case that breaths; otherwise, your leather harness may get moldy. Leather products cannot be sterilized.

Design / Craftsmanship

This harness has a very simple design. Two straps wrap around your waist and connect to two straps that come up from underneath your crotch, sort of like a g-string. However, the two leather straps that come up between your legs are too thick to be wedged in the actual crack of your bum, so it's best to just leave them resting on your cheeks. Actually, the promotional images of this harness show the middle straps being looped around the wearer's thighs, just under the buttocks, but I found it impossible to comfortably hook up the harness this way on myself or on my models, so I stuck with the g-string method. Both sets of straps have buckles like a belt's that you can adjust for a better fit; this isn't a stretchy harness, so you will have to adjust it a good bit to get a very tight, suitable fit. Finally, you slip your preferred dildo through the hole at the front of the harness.

Now, one of the major downsides is that this harness does not have interchangeable o-rings: there's simply a hole the front of the harness measuring about 1.5" across. While that's bound to fit most dildos, I have to admit that it's always a bummer for me when I can't switch to a smaller o-ring for a thin toy (my preference for anal penetration), or switch to a larger o-ring for a thicker toy (like a giant silicone dildo).

Size / Fit

One of the major issues I had with the Aslan Slick Jock harness was its sizing. As previously mentioned, it takes a significant amount of finagling to shorten or lengthen each individual strap to the appropriate length for a firm fit. But as long as you're willing to take your time, this isn't a huge deal. What IS a huge deal is how small this harness is. When Thing 2 tried it on, I had to slip each buckle to its last notch to make the harness fit properly. Granted, I could've tightened it another notch or two, but Thing 2 is not a very big girl. She's 6' tall, but she's not all that heavy or broad. Hence, I can't imagine this harness working for plus-sized wearers, even with the maximum hip size of 42". (Considering I have 35" hips and I'm relatively petite, I don't consider 42" "plus-sized friendly").

Performance

The dildo opening in this harness creates a "looseness" that is the Slick Jock's ultimate failure: only dildos with very thick and very wide bases will stay in during intercourse. I tested several dildos out with this harness in two ways, a pull test (shown in the video linked below) and a faux penetration test (where I literally fucked a lotion-lubricated orange that was wedged in a shoe). The only dildo that managed to stay in place during both tests was the Tantus Curve, which has an unusually thick base. The Tantus Small Silk managed to stay in during the penetration test if I thrusted slowly, but it quickly popped out when I thrusted more vigorously.

On the bright side, this harness doesn't chafe, and it remains sturdy and supple after several weeks' worth of regular wear. This is a step up from many other harnesses, which chafe due to low-quality materials and tear or fray with regular use.

Packaging

Packaging is pretty much non-existent with this harness. The harness has a company tag attached to it, and it's all wrapped up in a clear plastic bag, which EdenFantasys packs in to a box for shipping. Aslan does not provide any supplemental materials; it's just a straight-up harness here.

Personal comments

The list of dildos I tested out and their circumferences are as follows:

Tantus Curve: 4 1/2"
Tantus Small Silk: 3"
Tantus Large Silk: 4"
Tantus Small Paisley: 4 1/2"
Tantus Acute: 4"

Experience

Using this harness was a bit of trip. For one thing, there was the problem with putting on the harness: I simply could not get the center straps to loop under my models' buttocks properly, even with tons of adjusting. I even tried wearing the harness this way on my own naked body. I adjusted the straps for at least half an hour, but to no avail; it was easier to just put both straps in the center, running along the outside of my arsecrack. I DID manage to get the straps to rest under my buttocks very loosely for a few tests, but surprisingly, running the straps straight up between my legs held the dildo on much tighter. Hence, if you buy this harness, I highly recommend slipping the two straps up the middle rather than attempting to nestle them around your ass.

As I mentioned earlier in this review, I attempted several tests with this harness. If you would like to check out the pull test, where only one dildo managed to stay in the harness, as well as some photos of this harness, please head over to my blog.

An Aslan harness without interchangeable O-rings? I'd be interested to hear why they decided to do it that way. Too bad.

Great review! I would've loved to have checked out your blog to see the video, but it is set to invitation-only.

Yeah, I am definitely NOT a fan of most harnesses without O-rings. Very thorough review, however, thanks for listing all the dildos you tested and their measurements - very helpful!

Too bad this harness didn't work for you. I have and just love the Aslan Jaguar, which enables O rings. I think the reason for the Slick Jock is to enable close g/g contact w/o pubic irritation to the giver, which can result from the Jaguar with an exposed O ring and snaps.
I use primarily VixSkin dils, which have a wide base that should be very stable in the Slick Jock.
Thankfully, I have not experienced any chaffing from the the Jaguar butt straps and once I got it properly adjusted it is so easy to subsequently get into..

Whilst you have provided quite the detailed review, I think it is important to point out that a) this IS a vegan product and it's not made of leather (it's rubber, and therefore waterproof - great for shower/bath/pool play) and b) a jock-styled harness will work best (and give you better dildo control) when worn properly!

Thanks for the review. We have 2 Aslan harnesses and love them both. I guess it just depends on your body size/shape as to whether it's a good fit. Also, I have read in another review that this harness works better with larger diameter toys.
