Packaging:

The Big Boy dildo from Happy Valley arrived in what is unusual enough packaging for a sex toy, a clear plastic bag with a cardboard top. It does strike me as being more suitable to a cheap kids toy rather than a toy of adult nature, and in particular with this being made of high quality silicone would make you expect more in terms of packaging. It does keep waste to a minimum however and as a fan of toys having little excess to their packaging I appreciate the lack of waste.

First Impression:

Seeing the Big Boy in person for the first time It instantly reminded of the Happy Valley Slim Jim dildo which was my introduction to Happy Valley toys and my reason for investing in its bigger brother. Shape wise the resemblance between the two is strong but with the Big Boy staying true to its name and being generously girth, though actually fairly average in length.

Available in colour options of black or silver, I has easily decided on the silver having seen how beautiful the my silver Slim Jim turned out to be. In person the silver glittering silicone stands out with streaks of lighter and darker greys spreading across every part of the Big Boy in flowing patterns. In parts of the toy you can see streaks of shimmering glitter. The beauty in the unusual pattern that occurs is that it is likely every toy is unique, and with toys that’s not something you get to say too often! Mine is far paler than the one shown in the product page photos with more silver tones and no black streaks. While my Silver Slim Jim is a similarly light tone, this is bound to vary.

The shape and design of the Big Boy is semi-realistic with a defined head. The shaft features a quite noticeable curve which hints at this being a good option for G-spot stimulation. Along the shaft there is subtle veining that adds texture to the front of the Big Boy while along its back the shaft is smooth.

The base of the toy features a hole which houses a bullet vibrator and the flared shape around the bullet hole makes it suitable to use with an O-ring strap-on harness.

In Use/ Experience:

Dildo:

When initially inserting the Big Boy, the smooth head works well with just a drop of lube needed. While the head is semi-realistic it isn’t actually too raised or pronounced. From the start, the thick girth of the Big Boy is obvious and the smooth feel of the silicone and non exaggerated head are appreciated on such a girthy toy. The silicone used combined with this girth makes for a particularly firm build while inserting the Big Boy little give or flexibility can be felt.

This firm build means that the curved shape of the shaft is effective in not just seeking out the G-spot but in providing a decent level of pressure to it. Featuring such a thick head, the pressure applied to the G-spot isn’t too intense or concentrated on too small an area. Unlike other G-spot toys, I found that it luckily doesn’t ‘poke’ as it stimulates the G-spot. While the head of the dildo rubs against the G-spot, the vein like texture of the front of the shaft simultaneously massages the front wall of the vagina, the back of the shaft feels incredibly smooth by comparison.

When just using the Big Boy as a dildo, the empty bullet hole comes in handy for slipping your finger into and helping to grip the dildo. The wide base helps too.

With Bullet:

The shiny silver bullet that is included with the Big Boy is of standard size and powered by three watch batteries which are also included. The bullet arrives sitting separately in the packaging and when its battery compartment is unscrewed you can see that a disk of paper is placed inside it to stop it switching on before it reaches you.

It is a single speed bullet which features one simple power button. Pressing it once switches the bullet on and pressing it once more switches it off again.

While the bullet is reasonably powerful, when used alone clitorally, it loses alot of this power once it is placed inside the dildo. At the base of the dildo the vibrations can still be felt but at the head of the dildo they become very weak.

While I found the vibrations from the bullet to be a bit lacking once placed in the dildo, the design of the hole that houses the bullet is quite smart. Unlike other bullet housing and strap-on suitable dildos in my collection, the deeper bullet hole of the Big Boy actually allows you to take advantage of both these functions at once. The bullet fits so deep into the dildo that it can be used as a vibrating strap-on dildo rather than you needing to decide which function you want.

The downside to the bullet being tucked away so neatly is that you have a job on your hands trying to get it back out of the dildo. Though the design has tried to help with this by having a wider opening right at the base, this is still not an easy task.

Material/Care:


Made of silicone, the Big Boy feels high quality, is scent and taste free, skin safe and of course completely free from both latex and phthalates. It is generally recommended that silicone lubricants should not be used with silicone toys. I would recommend using a water based lube and in my experience even a drop of water lubricant goes a surprisingly long way with the Big Boy.

It is incredibly simple to wash the Big Boy after use, you can either use soap and warm water or a specialised toy cleaning solution or wipes. If you want to sterilize after use, it can be boiled for 3 minutes. I keep mine in a zip-sealed bag after use to keep it dust and lint free as like most silicone toys it attracts lint.
