Use

Bubbles is fun, cheeky little probe with five round beads stacked in the style of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. In spite of its teetering appearance, Bubbles is quite structurally sound. Made out of smooth, soft but incredibly dense and durable silicone, it can handle long nights filled with plenty of hard thrusting. She (yes, my Bubbles is a girl, thank you very much) is equipped with a rather narrow base which is a bit on the flimsy side, so while it can be used with reasonable success as a handle for hand thrusting, you may run into more trouble in a harness. I was unable to use mine in a harness because I didn't have an O ring small enough to accommodate it, but I am suspicious of its ability to stand at attention in a harness. This is really the biggest problem I had with the toy; everything else is a dream.

This probe can be used for vaginal stimulation of the G spot, providing bulge after bead of increasingly girthy and magnificent stimulation to the inner labia. I REALLY love this. One of my favorite feelings in the world is that initial "pop!" sensation of a being penetrated. With these beads? I get five "pops" with each thrust. This is a basic lesson in thrift and saving: five for one, people! The beads are also wonderful for anal use, and the base (while a little on the small size) prevents the toy from slipping to far inside. The graduated size of each bead also helps relax and ease the sphincter into the eventual 1.5 inches of width. While I have used this toy to thrust and reach orgasm with, I much prefer it for slow, protracted teasing sessions. I recommend it highly for foreplay and for warming up your butt for anal sex. Last but not least, those plump bubbles make a great barbell for your kegels. Clenching around this one a few times daily would make an excellent work out for those pelvic floor muscles, and unlike other kegel exercisers this is actually FUN to use. I clench my vaginal muscles around this often during masturbation sessions just because it feels so damn good, and my super buff kegels? Just a bonus!

Material / Texture

Jollies uses 100% premium platinum silicone in their products, making Bubbles non-porous, phthalates free, hypoallergenic and without any smell or taste. Smells cannot be absorbed by silicone because it is non-porous, but they can accumulate on the surface, particularly with anal play. If your toy starts to smell funny you can simply leave it out in a well ventilated area for 24-48 hours and allow the scent to dissipate.

Jollies silicone tends to be very dense. Bubbles is no exception, although its design (bulbous beads tapering into a slender neck in between) allows for it to be bent and maneuvered more than the inflexible Jollet. But this firmness is a strong point given the shape of the toy, which is meant to reach up and into assorted G and P spots. Floppier toys with brilliant curves have often met their downfall because they are so difficult to apply firm pressure with. The G Force, as an example, has the tendency to flop like a fish out of water when I'm poking around looking for my partner's prostate because it is too flimsy. Bubbles is a LOT better at taking direction; when you push her north she goes north, and a nudge south puts her directly at south.

One note about this material is that the photographs on Edenfantasys make it look a LOT more shiny and slippery than it actually is. In related, Bubbles is a rather matte toy without much luster to her. Under a bright light a slight sparkle can be detected, but this toy is far from the shimmering pearlescent shown in the pictures. This doesn't really affect the performance much at all, although the matte texture does provide a little more friction during insertion, which you may or may not appreciate. I prefer a little drag, but if you like that polished feeling then you won't find it here.

Design / Shape / Size

Bubbles is about 6.5 inches in length, all but the thing base being insertable. There are five "bubbles" or beads that comprise the shaft, beginning at the top with one that is shy of an inch in width, increasing in diameter to 1.5 inches at its broadest point. Between each bead is a narrower "neck" area which provides a nice resting point if you are slowly working up to the heftier diameters. For vaginal insertion this toy should be suitable for most beginners as well as intermediate users, although those that crave size may be left with a hankering for meatier toys. For anal use this is more of an intermediate to advanced size, so use caution and remember, lubelubelube!

This is not a realistic toy, but has instead a fantastic, Dr. Seuss look to it, like a page stolen from the naughty version of Solla Solew. And while it doesn't look quite like a penis, it has a vaguely phallic look and those suggestive peaks and valleys and...well...keep it out of plain view is all I'm saying. It's also not small enough to fit comfortably in most purses is and is a little took conspicuous for travel without some creative storage.

Performance

So let me just say that I REALLY loved this toy. I wasn't sure what to expect from this one because I've never had such a...curvy, shall we say, toy. There's a lot going on with all the bumps and I wasn't confident I was going to like it but, whew, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that I actually LOVE it. This is not a toy you'll want to thrust too much with unless you enjoy some very intense stimulation; it's easy to rub yourself rather raw if you go too quickly. It's a lot nicer just slide this toy in and out, or even just to rock it against your G or P spot. I was amazed at the kind of pressure this is able to apply to my G spot, thanks to the density of the material. Even my partner, who is decidedly finicky about his prostate massagers, gave this one a glowing review. The pictures left me a little suspect: a narrow, curved toy gives me the impression of it being a little unstable and therefore not very good for hitting cleverly hidden spots internally. Wrong! Jollies has really made a sturdy little probe here.

I will say that I didn't love this for anal, personally. For one thing it's too big for me still, but it's also far too much stimulation for me. If you're into that then you'll adore Bubbles, but if you don't and you plan on using this for anal primarily, I might advise against getting this.

This would have easily gotten 5 stars because I love it so much, but I had to knock one off because of the base. For one thing, there is a very impractical bullet hole (?) in the base that I can barely fit a pen cap inside of, let alone most bullet vibrators. I have TONS of bullet vibrators at this point because I love to use them during penetrative sex, but not one of the near dozen bullet vibrators that I had would fit in this base. The one that came closest was Doc Johnson's Rainbow Rhythms, but it still didn't quite fit. The other thing that was frustrating was how thin and narrow the base is. As a handle? The base works okay, kind of, although it tends to fold in half if I'm not careful. In a harness? Again, I'm very suspicious.

Care and Maintenance

Bubbles is very easy to care for, and being 100% non-porous is safe and easy to share as well. Leave your toy for 3-4 minutes in water that has already reached a rolling boil, toss on the top rack of your dish washer (no soap!) or wipe down with a 10% bleach solution to thoroughly sanitize your toy. For every day cleaning, a scrub with antibacterial soap and warm water. Remember that while silicone can't absorb microbes, even after boiling some microbes can linger on the surface, so if you share with a partner whose status you don't know, it's always safest to use a barrier like a condom.

Silicone is fully compatible with oil and water based lubricants, but silicone based lubricants can "bond" or stick to your toy, leaving behind a gummy mess. Always make sure you use oil or water with your probe. Bubbles can be stored in a lintless pouch or a plastic Ziploc bag to prevent it from picking up lint, hair and dust (which it has the annoying habit of doing).

Packaging

So this is my second Jollies toy and just like my Jollet, it came in a tall, slim and entirely transparent plastic box. The packaging is very obvious; the entire contents of the box are fully visible. It's not very good for storage and actually, not even very good for shipping in. When my Bubbles arrived, she was popping out head first through the top of the package, which had not been properly closed. When I tried to put her back in, I realized I couldn't; I'm not sure that this box was the right size for Bubbles. Needless to say, I think that while Jollies was focusing all of their energies on making such awesome toys they forgot to take proper measurements and send them to their packaging designers. There are no instructions or inserts with Jollies toys. In fact, the only text on the box is the name brand, the name of the product and the words "100% premium platinum silicone".

Follow-up commentary
I still like Bubbles quite a lot, and after getting the Rombee I still think it is the best probe/dildo of its kind. It has just the right firmness, is harness compatible, can be easily cleaned and shared because it's made from non-porous silicone, and of course...the bubbles! I think it's the G-spot curve, which is something that similar bubbly toys lack, even Fun Factory's copycat mini vibe. This thing is awesome and one of my favorite textured toys of all time. Highly recommend it!

I really love this one, I was surprised by it. Getting a smaller O ring (most of mine are pretty large) to work a little better with this is definitely on my to-do list!

Ahhhh Shakespear and Dr. Seuss a well written review indeed! Sounds great and like Miss Cinnamon and Lauren I don't have any toys from this manufacturer...might just be time to change that!

    Excellent review!

lol, Airen I just saw this. I think that's about as much use as my pre-law degree in lit (and L.A. Studies) is ever going to get. sort of just needed something to bide my time before law school

    Great review!
If I am not mistaken, I believe I saw in a photo you posted in the forum that you also have the Rombee. I am debating between the two. Is it really worth having both or do you favor one over the other (for vaginal use)?

is this good for long term wear? will it fall out?

Great review! I agree with most of your points, though I think it IS great for anal play... with a partner and a strap-on though, not solo like you mentioned. I only wish the pink were more opalescent and not matte. Damn shame it was discontinued!
