When searching for my first dildo, I had a checklist so detailed one might think that I was shopping for a mate! I wanted something of similar width to my Tantus Ryder plug (bonus points for other Tantus products). I needed something silicone for material safety and easy clean-up. It would also need to be of "average" or longer length, safe for anal play, harness-compatible, and affordable.
Impossible, I thought. But the Tantus Vamp fit the bill in every respect!

Pros
* "Just right" size, shape, & texture * Versatile * Durable and low-maintenance * Excellent value
Cons
* Pronounced "head" could cause discomfort for some
As far as dildos go, the Vamp is a versatile contender. The toy's flared base means that it can safely be used either vaginally or anally, with or without an O-ring harness. It's perfect for couples and easy enough to use solo. Due to its girth, however, only those who are already comfortable with anal play should use it for such.
The toy's base also acts as a good handle for solo-users to grab on to for thrusting purposes; and it even allows to toy to stand up straight on level surfaces, allowing users to squat upon it.
Made of 100% non-porous silicone, the Vamp is odorless, tasteless, smooth to the touch, and firm yet flexible. The pronounced indentation of the head can definitely be felt and could potentially cause discomfort for some unwary users. The shaft of the toy also has some much milder texturing in the form of indentations that can subtly be felt during use.
The Vamp has a quasi-realistic appearance; and by that I mean that it's obviously shaped like a cock, but its color, lack of testicles, and shaft & head ridges set it apart from "realistic" dildos. It's flexible, yet not curved enough for g-spot or p-spot stimulation, I think. The measurements are as follows:
Upon purchase, I didn't know how much "insertable length" would be enough, but the length and girth of this toy are absolutely perfect for me. As a 6' 2" guy that's comfortable with anal play, the Vamp fills me up almost like it was made exactly for my body. I can't speak for it's performance when used vaginally, but this toy should satisfy most users that are not ardent size kings/queens.
I have used this toy a handful of times while solo in various positions. Whether I've used it on all fours, on my back, seated, or squatting; the Vamp has not failed to deliver yet! Some reviewers have stated that the pronounced shape of the head can cause discomfort during vaginal play if it brushes up against the pubic bone the wrong way. In my experience of using the toy anally, however, the head's shape has created some amazing sensations upon entry and removal while thrusting! The firmness level is just right for riding and grinding, though I can't remember if I felt any P-spot stimulation in my limited play sessions. Orgasms with the toy in place have been substantial. Specifically, I am able to feel myself clamping down on the toy, feeling the subtle ridges of the shaft. I'm definitely eager to use this toy with a harness for pegging play at some point!
The only slight discomfort I have felt when using the Vamp has been while trying to take the last 1/2" or so of the toy anally, depending on my position. If I am on all fours or my back with my hips arched, I can manage it, but using the toy in a seated or squatting position can potentially cause some discomfort unless you gently take your time.
I wanted a toy that was going to be long-lasting and easy to clean and care for. The 100% silicone construction of the Vamp, again, fits the bill perfectly. It can be cleaned easily with mild soap and water, or it can be sterilized with a 10% bleach solution or by boiling it in hot water. Since it is a silicone toy, however, you should not use silicone-based lubes as that can cause the material of the toy to break down. I personally only use water-based lubes with the Vamp, and I store it in its original plastic clam-shell package to prevent it from gathering dust and lint.
The packaging is see-through and emblazoned with the Tantus logo and the usual run-of-the-mill product descriptions in English, German, French, and Spanish. The package itself consists of an inner clam-shell style molded container and the outer box, measuring approximately 3 1/2" square by 8 1/2" tall overall. It's a tad bulky, but it works great for storing your toy while not in use in lieu of a more appropriate container.
I still feel a rush of excitement every time I pull the Vamp out of its packaging. Even taking it out for review purposes, I had to fight the urge to put off writing until the next morning.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it8 months after original review
Since I first acquired my Vamp I have bought two or three other dildos of various shapes and sizes, and yet I still keep coming back to this toy (especially as a warm-up for something larger). I've really come to enjoy the pronounced head on the toy and the sensations it can create, and the length of the Vamp makes it perfect for preparing for longer toys during anal play. I would absolutely buy this again if anything happened to mine!

Wonderful job, Kendrir, you're coming out of the gate for the class incredibly strong with this review. It sounds like it's a wonderful shape, size, and everything---and that coronal ridge is one of my favorite parts of a dildo too
