Rascal 02 sex toy review by Dark Gracie
A nicely-ridged, soft-around-the-edges probe
The features of the Rascal O2 work together to make a great toy. The soft O2 makes the ridges comfortable and the squishy head makes insertion easy for a toy with girth. The length is modest, which makes for comfortable insertion all the way to the base, where the vibe is located. The Rascal O2 ends up being a toy that can be used in a few ways, and does all well; for this reason, it's an often-used toy in my collection.

Pros
Soft outside with still rigid core, ridges are so good, perfect size
Cons
Vibe could be stronger, is difficult to remove for cleaning
Use
The Rascal presents the user with several possibilities. I used the Rascal anally. Due to its thick diameter and relatively short length, the Rascal is excellent to insert all the way to its secure base and leave in place. In this manner, stimulation comes from any or all of the following: using the included bullet vibe in the base, rocking back and forth on the base, and/or squeezing the soft O2 material with one's anal muscles. The are all quite pleasant with the Rascal O2. Alternatively, the sensation from the rows of ridges on the Rascal makes insertion incredible. It's not a toy you would want to pound away with (the ridges are soft due to the O2 material, but still significant, especially with the diameter of the toy), but slow or medium speed insertion gives a unique and highly enjoyable feeling. Each time I work my way up to the Rascal, the first insertion makes my back arch and eyes roll with pleasure.
I have played with this toy solo and with a partner. Both uses have been very satisfying. I have not yet tried the Rascal O2 strapped to a harness, but I look forward to doing so, since the length is modest, and since it has the secure large base common to many Tantus models.

Material / Texture
I really like the O2 material as it is incorporated in this toy. The outer "squishyness" makes it comfortable for anal use, while the firm inner core makes insertion predictable and a one-handed operation. My favorite part is that the head of the Rascal O2 is entirely the squishy O2 material (not just coated in it); the next section mentions why this is so good.
The O2 outer material is matte in finish, and does well lubing up and staying lubed (a problem with gloss finish silicone). Remember not to use silicone lubes with the O2. I mention this specifically because Tantus stresses this point. Some Tantus toys are compatible with some silicone lubes (like Pjur Eros bodyglide), but they stress that the O2 line is not silicone-lube compatible. So keep it water-based.

Design / Shape / Size
The Rascal O2 is an excellent example of how sometimes, a departure from the ordinary can be extraordinary. The Rascal O2 does a few things that on their own would be common in the realm of sex toys, but together, make it unique. First things first, the Rascal is a girthy, but short toy. At about 1 3/4 inches in diameter and about 5 inches in length, the Rascal provides a nice amount of stretch without having to go for too much depth to get to it. And with such a diameter over a short length, the Rascal gets to business quickly, with a head that is quite bulky.
Even thought the head is bulky, it's not that hard to actually get it in; the material of the head is entirely O2 material, and is soft and compressible, making the 1 3/4" diameter of O2 behave like only 1 1/2" of harder silicone. Also, with this softer material on the head and shaft, Tantus got a little bit more liberty to enhance the surface features of the toy. The Rascal is ridged all the way from the bottom of the squishy head down to the top of its base. If the ridges were of harder silicone they might be uncomfortable for anal use; but the squishy O2 material makes them work really well. If you can currently take 1 1/2" in diameter, and are looking to go bigger, the Rascal O2 is a great way to do it.
The toy is not really realistic, which is what I prefer. There is no glans-style head (no mushroom tip) and no vein-like detailing. However, it is in the general phallic shape and it is bright pink at the base, so even someone with limited sex toy experience could probably guess what it is. Don't leave this one on the bookshelf (unless you usually display your sex toys there, then have at it).

Performance
The performance of this toy has been great. Like I said, Tantus took several less than typical directions with the Rascal O2. But with an exact amount and extent of left turns, you get a right turn. And the Rascal O2 exemplifies the benefits of such a risk. For me, this toy is as perfectly comfortable for stroking inside my ass as it is to insert and leave in play. And the soft O2 ridges provide a sensation that is unique from the other toys in my collection. Finally, it also vibrates, how versatile! These (and the fact that its size is one step below my 2" toy) are the reasons that my Rascal O2 is included with just about every anal play session I have.
As for the vibrations: the included bullet isn't particularly strong, but the vibrations are focused near the base, which is exactly where I want them when Rascal is fully inserted in my ass. Squeezing the toy with anal muscles intensifies the sensation of the vibrations, and makes them more than adequate. This is no bone-shaker, but you probably wouldn't want that for an insertable toy anyway. The noise level is modest, and isn't audible if inserted with the covers over top.
I haven't yet tried the Rascal with a harness, but will look forward to doing so in the future. And of course I will post about it in a follow up review.

Care and Maintenance
As with all my silicone toys, I put the Rascal in the dishwasher. I usually play with about 5-6+ toys in a given session, so it makes sense for me to just throw them all in the top rack of the dishwasher to get nice and clean. Super convenient. You can also boil the toy for 5 minutes on the stove, or clean in a 10% bleach solution (make sure you rinse well, though). If you're using the Rascal for anal use, it's recommended that you sanitize thoroughly after each use, using one of these three methods. Also, it is important that you remember to remove the bullet vibe before cleaning with any of these methods. To make removal a bit easier, add a small amount of lube to the bullet before inserting into the base. I also found it to be helpful to bend the material of the base towards the head of the Rascal when removing the bullet; this makes the opening a bit bigger and breaks the suction in the hole.
After cleaning and air drying, the Rascal O2 get stored with the rest of my collection, standing up in a small box on my nightstand. I leave the bullet out, because the Rascal stands up better without it inserted (the bullet sticks out just a little bit, just enough to make standing the toy up a little less secure). Specifically, it is third in line out of 5 dildos/probes (organized from smallest to largest).
Don't use with silicone lubes. Even though some Tantus toys are silicone lube compatible, they make a point to mention that the O2 line is not silicone lube compatible. Use water-based.

Packaging
The Rascal 02 came in a clear bag with a simple cardboard top. No instructions were included, just a general description of Tantus and their toys.
This package would not be useful for storage, but that's not really so much of a concern for silicone toys, since they don't have to be kept from touching each other. The big deal is that the bag set-up is not very presentable as a gift. But I think Tantus has been working on their packaging. The last toy I bought from them came in a very nice, but simple clear plastic display case. Nothing fancy, but much preferred for gifting.

Thank you for viewing Rascal O2 – g spot dildo review page!
@Waterfall I've yet to try vixskin, but look forward to doing so at some point. The girth on the O2 Rascal is nice, and never fails to take my breath when it first goes in.
@ScottA Yes, the on/off button of the bullet does stick out just slightly when the bullet is completely inserted into the base. I haven't had any troubles with switching off in use, but I have noticed that the Rascal will not stand up on its base if the bullet is in (it wobbles and falls over).
@leatherlover Thank you for reading!
