A Luxeurious Ride

This is a great harness if you're looking to invest in something that's quality, luxury and long-lasting. It will fit a wide variety of people and toys, but it can't be sanitized, so be wary of that.

Use

The Luxe is a premium strap-on harness made by Aslan Leather. Intended for penetration play by female-bodied persons, this harness will fit women with hips up to 42" wide. Unfortunately, this is not a suitable harness for cis-men, though you can try the Deuce for a male harness. Eden doesn't sell the larger sized Luxe, so women with wider hips should check out Joque, which fits hips up to 65" wide.

The Luxe isn't geared specifically towards beginners or advanced users, but I would recommend this for people who are in monogamous relationships, rather than people who are casually dating--because it is leather, it cannot be completely sterilized, so it would be advisable to be fluid bonded with your partner.

True novices to harness use may find the Luxe a bit confusing to configure, but it's fairly intuitive and the learning makes a fun exercise.

Material

The Luxe is made of butter-soft leather, and an unspecified metal. The leather makes up the majority of the harness, and the metal is used to hold it together, and forms the buckles around the harness. The metal looks and feels like stainless steel, but if you have any metal sensitivities, definitely skip this one, as the metal rivets holding the harness together do touch skin.

The leather is bright white and clean, though, just like all white leather, you must be gentle with it or it can become very dirty very quickly. Some parts of the leather (on the inside) are kind of separating; it's made of one piece of leather wrapped around so it meets back in the middle, and the seam has separations that are clearly visible. Maybe it's supposed to be loosely joined, so that it better stretches and molds to the body?

My Luxe also features a small tag (just like in clothing) on the inside of the harness; it's sewn in, so it would be a pain in the butt to remove, but I don't find it problematic in use.

Design / Craftsmanship

The harness is made of three separate parts:
-The hip straps
-The butt straps
-The centerfold (where the cock is placed).

The hip straps are studded with holes about half an inch apart until you reach the buckle. Between the buckle and the second hip strap is a long straight, uninterrupted piece of leather. On the other side there is a second buckle and hip strap, connecting to the center of the harness.

The butt straps are each long, uninterrupted pieces of leather, connected with an adjustable buckle so you can tighten or loosen them. Tightening or loosening the butt straps is easy when the harness is off, but can be difficult when they're on, as you have to loosen/tighten it from the bottom and then do this whole tango, which can be hard when it's on you and you're turning around. This would be much easier if you have a partner with you who can help adjust the fit properly. Once you've gotten your measurements seated, though, you can leave the butt straps as you'd like.

You can also wear this as a thong style harness by moving the two butt straps together and to the middle, though it does take away some of the stability, and since it's not made as a thong style harness, it isn't as comfortable as it could be.

Both the butt and hip straps meet at the centerfold. The Luxe has an interchangeable O-Ring, so it can fit a variety of cocks, behind which is a cutout O. The ring it comes with is 1 3/4", so it will fit a lot of different cocks. The O-Ring can be difficult to re-snap, especially with a larger dildo inserted.

There are two ways to place a cock into this harness; the first is to unsnap the O-Ring and then slide it over the dildo. You then re-snap the cock ring, and your dildo is securely fastened. This method has the bonus of extra stability, but it has the downside of not putting a lot of pressure on the wearer's clitoris so it's not as pleasurable for the giver. The second method is to slide the dildo through the back of the harness, and up through the O-Ring without snapping it in. This is a good method for cocks with testicles, as the O-Ring method doesn't leave a lot of room for wide bases. The downside to this method is that it doesn't provide much stability in-use, because there's nothing holding the dildo in place; it also shortens the amount of cock with which you can actually fuck. The upside is that it provides extra stimulation to the wearer in-use.

If the O-Ring provided does not fit the cock you have, you can purchase others and swap them out for more toy options, though the O-Ring included will fit most dildos.

Size / Fit

This harness, as I mentioned above, will fit up to a 42" hip comfortably. Smaller users may be annoyed by the excess leather hanging around after they pull the butt and hip straps through, but if the only user of this harness is petite, you can use sharp scissors to cut the flapping ends off.

Because the hip and butt straps are separate and can be adjusted as such, this harness can be used by multiple people with different body sizes.

I found it a bit difficult to size it to me properly, but now that I've got it figured out, I leave one side always left on my buckle setting, and open the other; I keep the two sides the same distance, so I can always just count the holes to the end and size it that way.

Performance

The Luxe sits low on the pelvis, so it's ideally positioned to provide stimulation to the harness-wearer. I've had no trouble using this harness in a variety of positions, and no issues with my cock moving around (as long as it was snapped into the O-Ring).

Care and Maintenance

The harness comes with these instructions for care and maintenance, "To care for your ASLAN leather: with a moist cloth and a little soap (dish soap or leather cleaner) wipe the area to be cleaned. Wipe off excess soap using a moist cloth. Pat dry immediately. Be sure to get all the moisture out of fold [sic] and creases. Store your leather in a cool dry place away from direct heat and light." The care instructions also advise you not to soak or submerge the harness, and to apply a coat of clear nailpolish to metal rivets to prevent tarnishing.

Aslan also has a lifetime guarantee, if the harness breaks during normal wear or is defective.

Packaging

The Luxe came packaged in a plastic ziplock-style bag, with a label attached to the O-ring, with basic care instructions. The label required scissors to remove, since it was attached with one of those impossible-to-yank-off plastic ties. It's not exactly luxury packaging, so if you're gifting this, you may wish to purchase a bag of some kind to offer better presentation.

Personal comments

I recently reached out to Aslan about a problem I had with one of their products (my fault, unrelated to any issues in the quality or make of their leather goods) and they were beyond helpful and accommodating. I have nothing bad to say about Aslan's service.
