Off-brand Mega
Vivid Large condoms are a great condom for the guy who is average length, but mostly needs extra girth. Not everyone who is girthy, is also extra long! They are priced very affordably and are tested three ways for safety.
Published:
Pros
Larger girth, Price!, Good fit, Regular length, Good for thicker toys
Cons
Regular length (for some), Smell weird, Lube stops 3/4 of the way down
As I stated in a previous review of off brand large condoms, I found these condoms the same way. When I started dating my previous partner, my existing condom collection because useless since all the condoms were too small. In an effort to find condoms that fit him and pleased both of us, I went on a condom shopping spree. I ended up falling in love with the Trojan Ecstasy condoms before actually using these. Comparatively, these are not on the same level. However, for the price, these are excellent and the fit really is "large" and works well for us. it's better for girthier guy than those who needs lots of length, though.

Compared to average condoms:
The Vivid Large condom is .0027" thick which is pretty much the standard for most condoms. Because it is larger and allows for more contour to be felt, it doesn't feel as thick. It doesn't feel like a "thin" condom, though. The latex feels stretchier than that of Durex. It conforms to the penis well.
The length is actually not larger than regular condoms. It also has the average length of 7.5" long. Average condoms are about 7.25-7.5". We didn't have a problem with the length. We need added girth more. The length is good for guys who are about 7" or less, but can be used by guys who are a bit longer. The reservoir tip is large and will hold 2-3 teaspoons of semen.
The shape of these condoms do not have a contour, but they are smaller at the base than the shaft and head.
Average head width is 2.125". This condom has a head width of 2.28" which makes a big difference for a guy with an ample head. The extra head room allows for friction to occur which is essential for arousal.
Average shaft width is 2". This condom has a larger width of 2.28" that is great for girthier guys, not so great for thinner ones because it can be baggy. The base is smaller at 2". This makes the condom safer. It will help hold rogue semen in and prevent the condom from slipping off as easily.
This condom doesn't smell like latex, but it does smell, and not good. It smells like plastic or PVC almost. The smell is not strong enough to smell it far from the condom, but it does need to be washed off.
The lubrication is water based, and very smooth, but it doesn't travel to the base of the condom. For some reason it stops about 3/4 of the way down, so you may need to add more. By the way, it unrolls pretty easily. The lubricant leaves a grimy feeling afterward that needs to be washed off. It also tastes pretty horrible. Wash before giving oral.
They come in a pumpkin orange plastic wrapper and are fairly easy to tear open. The wrappers are not much larger than that of regular sized condoms, and are not as large as say, Magnums. The box the three pack comes in is standard size for three packs and looks a bit dated. Each condom has its own expiration date which is approximately four years from when it is made. Mine expire in 2014. The back and inside has a lot information about condoms and how to use them.

Experience
My partner and I really like these condoms as a cheaper alternative to the Ecstacy condoms by Trojan. They come in nice three pack boxes, and don't make my partner feel like he is being restricted. We just wish they were a tad longer, although, it didn't bother use much and didn't render these condoms useless like some of the others I owned. They also require some extra lubricant. If you are looking for a cheaper, larger, functional condom, these are a good choice.
Follow-up commentary
10 months after original review
We have bought these condoms a few times now and will continue to do so. They aren't that bad and are a great price. If you are a larger guy and still have not tried them, you should.

As always, great review. I'm glad to see more options coming on the market for the girthier of men...I just wish that the latex-free versions were keeping pace.
